Think I'll give this match a miss. It's at 4am over here, I have work the next day and while I usually wake up for even these matches, I've seen enough shit on a stick football from us this and last season to have any motivation of waking up.

Same here to be honest for this one.
Where are you? I'm in Japan.

    Louis Van Gaal Press Conference:

Hope we see a big and much needed change in personnel.

    De Gea
    McNair - Smalling - Evans - Rojo
    Blind
    Herrera - Fellaini
Mata - Rooney - Di Maria
If it's another Falcao/van Persie duo I may get very angry!

I'd be shokced if he played such a good team tbh

Shaw's red is a serious kick in the balls, as it affects so many other players with Carrick being out at the same time. Blind is essential in midfield so can't deputise there, Rojo is the last defender you want to move position with his recent form and playing Young would almost certainly see a return to 3-5-2.

It's funny isn't it... it seems Shaw's availability has been easily the biggest factor in terms of what formation we play/which personnel we use.

    .................De Gea

    .....McNair Smalling Rojo Young

    .......Herrera Blind Di Maria

    .............Mata/Rooney

    ..........Rooney/Falcao Wilson

Pretty please long ball Van Gaal....

We could have some joy going forward as Burnley are unlikely to put 10 behind the ball. I expect them to attack us and leave space in behind.

I was thinking the opposite thought they'd park the bus.
I haven't seen much of Burnley TBH.

    Wishful thinking lineup:
    ...................DDG
    Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Rojo
    ............Herrera, Blind
    Januzaj, Rooney, di Maria
    ..................Falcao

Neither of RVP or Falcao deserve to start.

Rooney should be up front with or without Wilson.

LVG needs to play Herrera and Mata.

    We'll get none of this.

Rooney hasn't been a striker for half a season so it would be shitty management to just shove him upfront now.

I'd simply drop one of RVP or Falcao

It is a Home game so Mata should start!

We cannot drop any points here, I don't give a shit if we spend all night humping angel passes to the mop, just get the job done.

This is a must win game with Liverpool and Arsenal both on quite a good run. We won't get top 4 if we keep dropping silly points to mid-table teams.

Man Utd v Burnley simulation in FIFA 15
Van Gaal is tired of Falcao and Van Persies lack of form and has dropped them both.
    Therefore he's fielding this side:

    DDG
    Rafael - Smalling - Rojo - Young
    Blind
    Herrera - Di Maria
    Mata
    Wilson - Rooney

12 min - We're absolute shit. Burnley is dominating and creating chances.
17 min - Our first chance; Mata shoots the ball 893 meters high with his non-lethal right foot.
27 min - Rafael with a beautiful dive. Scott Arfield is furious as he gets booked. The free kick is wasted by Rooney
29 min - Just noted that Michael Keane is playing against us. This must surely be against the rules?
Half time - We're still absolute rubbish. Burnley with 56% possession. We only have 59% passing accuracy. Van Persie coming on for Wilson at half time.
49 min - Falcao on for Rooney. Weird substitution.
50 min - This is the worst game I've ever seen. Both teams are shite.
54 min - PENALTY TO US!! Di Maria dribbled through their defense and got down quite easily. Nevertheless the penalty has been given.
58 min - GOAL! Falcao scored on the penalty! Undeserved lead to us! On a side note, how did it take 4 mins to take the penalty? Sad time wasting by Van Gaals side.
62 min - Burnley are pressuring heavily, but are not really close to scoring. Long shots seems to be their tactic.
73 min - Fellaini on for Herrera. Predictable substitution.
76 min - Oh my god. Burnley scored. De Gea with a blooper. Real Madrid just lost interest. David Jones is the goal scorer.
80 min - Burnley keep pounding the ball up he SAF stand. There must be someone there they don't really fancy.
88 min - GOAL!! Big Felli is our saviour. Beautiful volley. RVP with a nice assist.

The game finished 2-1. In the worst PL game I've ever seen, we managed to win on a bad day even with 46% possession. Burnley would probably have got away with one or more points if it wasn't for their evil agenda against one of the spectators in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand.

I quite like this feature, maybe one day the prediction will come true

2-0 at halftime. We'll go to sleep in the 2nd and Burnley will score a late goal. Nervy 2-1 win

A senior partner at my firm is a Burnley fan. We cannot fail to win this, it would be unbearable.

Will be about 9am here and I'm staying home for it. As frustrating as it can be watching our dour football, I couldn't imagine not living through it.

    I'd go...
    de Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Young
    Fellaini Blind
    Rooney Mata di Maria
    Falcao/van Persie

Give Herrera 30 mins and play Rooney up front. It is too much to ask for isn't it?

I see most of you have put Valencia at right back - do any of you think there's a possibility for McNair to get a start at that position instead of Valencia? I'd just love to see if he could repeat his performance from Cambridge against a PL team.

You know it's going to be a swashbuckling 5-0 now, don't you?!

1:15 AM here and next day office.
It is sad when we dont sleep and watch a match and then we play uber crap and we go to work next day with a hangover of drinking a cocktail of bad performance+lack of sleep and look absolute zombie almost the entire day..

But then that comes with supporting a team :)
