Surprised at the lack of changes in midfield and attack. I thought that criticism would have stung him and he would have made changes. Instead only changes in defence which was obviously expected in the case of Shaw, but McNair starting was unexpected. Hopefully he does as well at right-back as he did in the last game he played there.

I actually think it is a good decision to put RvP and Falcao in the starting 11. This is the type of game they can both work on their confidence and score some goals. Obviously our game has been pretty dire the last games, but we've had enough chances to bag them. I still firmly believe that RvP and Falcao could be a deadly combo, and so does LvG. Though if today again is a horroshow, then it is time to drop one of them for Wilson and have more movement.

I really hate to say it but I am starting to get a slight hint of that feeling that I had with Moyes where I wanted us to win but kind of wanted us to lose at the same time as I wanted the manager to get a wake up call or in Moyes case hopefully be sacked. With Van Gaal I don't think losing a game will change anything, he seems that stubborn and that deluded. Sorry to sound over the top but this is so frustrating.

That's really a really poor decision playing those two up front again. We need pace. Falcao is shot and it's clear that Van Persie needs runners beside him. Sure, they'll both score hat tricks, but they were awful against West Ham and both should have been dropped for Wilson and Mata/Herrera.

Both will need to come off at half-time, but neither will until Wilson gets a 2 min run-out in injury time.

The stakes are too high to lose this season. Last season, I felt the same, but we can't miss out on CL football again. It would be a disaster.
