If today's game had not happened we'd probably laugh at this formation, assuming it was a joke.
Mind you, when you have Blind in your team, you can still get away with it.
I actually think that at Old Trafford, this formation could be effective (ie. once the ball is picked up by our forwards, the ball is likely to end up in the back of the net or get pinged back to our defence. The defence will collect the ball and pass it to Blind.
I can only think that LVG does not know what his best team or formation is and is experimenting, for next year. Eventually, he will stop tinkering and will settle on a stable starting 11.
Ive also noticed that Herrera appears to be gaining a cult following (similar to Kegawa).
Why's that?Backlash time. Rotate Januzaj Falcao and RVP out. Herrera Mata and Wilson in. Smalling for Shaw and shift Rojo to left back.

Falcao & RVP are simply too slow in my opinion. RVP simply scythes opponents and Falcao was like Bambi on ice.Falcao should only play in box like RvP amd and not move around too much

falcao and van persie are fine for home matches. but it should be rooney plus one for the away games. we will score 3 or 4 and then LVG will keep this line up for the next away game and then we'll create just 2 chances there.We'll play 442 with Rooney partnering Wilson up front. Because Jones is rash and has close to none positional sense, whilest Ings has been pretty lethal lately.
Based on the fact that United and Burnley have played the most long balls in the league so far, this game should be great for Fellaini. I'm expecting end to end stuff, literally. No need for any passing players, we'll bypass midfield anyway.4-1-4-1 please!!!! I would call Rafael back, because even if we can’t count on him, the combo Rafalencia has always been pretty good… good enough to beat Burnley and give us speed down the right, and we can say what we want, but Valencia is pretty good this year. And I would play Mata and Fellaini behind Rooney
