    ------------------DDG---------------------
    Mcnair------Jones------Smalling-----Rojo
    -------------Fellaini-----Blind------------
    Valencia-----------Mata----------Di Maria
    -------------------Rooney------------------

Not going to happen but wouldn't mind seeing it.

    --- -------De Gea
Valencia -- Jones -- Evans--- Rojo
    ------------Blind
    -----Rooney --- Di Maria
    -----------Fellaini
    ------ RvP --- Falcao

This is pretty much what I am expecting.

    ------------------DDG---------------------
    Mcnair------Jones------Smalling-----Rojo
    -------------Fellaini-----Blind------------
    Valencia-----------Mata----------Di Maria
    -------------------Rooney------------------

Oh god please let this happen!!

    This, maybe Herrera for Mata.

    5-0 United win

    Herrera to start

Rooney to be played as striker

Falcao and RVP to be benched

.....then I woke up and it was a scrappy 1-0 win where none of the above happened.

    de Gea

    Rafael
    Smalling
    Jones
    Rojo

    Blind
    Herrera
    Di Maria
    Mata

    Rooney
    van Persie

SUBS: Valdes, Evans, Fellaini, Valencia, Januzaj, Falcao, Wilson.

Go back to 4141 with wingers.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
Januzaj - Herrera - Rooney - Di Maria
    Falcao

    • Januzaj to keep the width
    • Di Maria to roam
    • Rooney to be the most advanced midfield. Running in behind and getting into the box
    • Herrera to control tempo of the game
    • Full backs to overlap
    • Falcao to patrol within the length of the 18 yard box

    Back Five

    Blind

    All the Forwards

If today's game had not happened we'd probably laugh at this formation, assuming it was a joke.
Mind you, when you have Blind in your team, you can still get away with it.

I actually think that at Old Trafford, this formation could be effective (ie. once the ball is picked up by our forwards, the ball is likely to end up in the back of the net or get pinged back to our defence. The defence will collect the ball and pass it to Blind.

I can only think that LVG does not know what his best team or formation is and is experimenting, for next year. Eventually, he will stop tinkering and will settle on a stable starting 11.

Ive also noticed that Herrera appears to be gaining a cult following (similar to Kegawa).

Backlash time. Rotate Januzaj Falcao and RVP out. Herrera Mata and Wilson in. Smalling for Shaw and shift Rojo to left back.

    Jones
    Rojo
    Blind
    Herrera
    Mata
    di Maria
    Rooney
    Wilson

    EDIT forgot about Shaw.

Did i read that right? A Wednesday night kick off?

    I'm getting all nostalgic!

    De Gea
    McNair - Smalling - Jones - Rojo
Fellaini - Blind - Di Maria
    Herrera - Mata
    Rooney

With Shaw out and Young back from injury we might see the much loved 3-5-2 formation back for this one.
    DDG
    Jones Smalling Rojo
    Valencia Rooney Blind Young
    Di Maria
    RVP Falcao

    What I wouldn't mind is:

    -----------------DDG------------------------
    Valencia/McNair---Smalling---Evans-----Rojo
    --------------Blind-----------------
    ----Herrera-----------ADM---------
    ------------Mata------------------
    -----Rooney--------Wilson--------

What we would probably see is:

    -----------------DDG------------------------
    -----Jones------Smalling-----Rojo-----------
    Valencia----Rooney-----Blind--------Young
    ------------- Mata-----------------
    -----ADM------------RvP------------

    ---------------------------De Gea------------------------

    ---Rafael--------Jones--------Smalling-------Rojo---

    ------------------------Blind----------------------------

    -----------Fellaini--------------Di Maria-------------

    ---------------------Herrera--------------------------

    --------------------------------------Rooney--------

    ------------------------Falcao-----------------------

Just play Mata, Di Maria, Rooney and Fellaini in their normal positions1 i think we'll do fine
    3-0 Rooney hattrick

Falcao & RVP are simply too slow in my opinion. RVP simply scythes opponents and Falcao was like Bambi on ice.Falcao should only play in box like RvP amd and not move around too much

Falcao & RVP are just too slow for EPL's pace

And you havent' selected Mata at all :D

This game could be the opportunity to give some other players a go in their natural positions. I think Falcao and V. Persie should be benched for this game. I'd go with.

    ------------------De Gea
    Valencia----Jones--------Smalling----Rojo
    -------------------Blind
    ---------Herrera---------Mata
    Di Maria---------------------------Januzaj
    -------------------Rooney

    --------------------------de gea-----------------------------
    valencia--------smalling---------jones--------------rojo
    ---------------------------blind-------------------------
    --------------di maria---------------rooney----------------
    --------------------------mata--------------------------
    ----------------van persie---------falcao---------------

falcao and van persie are fine for home matches. but it should be rooney plus one for the away games. we will score 3 or 4 and then LVG will keep this line up for the next away game and then we'll create just 2 chances there.

We'll play 442 with Rooney partnering Wilson up front. We'll scrap a win and we will then move on to new things to blame.

Its Burnley at home. Show some balls LVG :
    -----------------------DeGea------------------
    Rafael------Smalling---------Rojo------Young
    ----------------------Blind--------------------
    -----------Herrera-----------Di Maria--------
    Januzaj---------------------------------Mata
    ------------------Rooney--------------------

Mata and Di Maria could easliy cover eachother positions during the match.
    Rooney on top

Rooney and Wilson upfront with Fellaini and Young in midfield and Herrera and Mata on bench will not do the trick :)

Based on the fact that United and Burnley have played the most long balls in the league so far, this game should be great for Fellaini. I'm expecting end to end stuff, literally. No need for any passing players, we'll bypass midfield anyway.

4-1-4-1 please!!!! Between Chelsea and City, we maybe didn’t look the best with this formation, but at least we were balanced, and played more players in natural position… Fed up with multi-fonctional philosophy players

I would call Rafael back, because even if we can’t count on him, the combo Rafalencia has always been pretty good… good enough to beat Burnley and give us speed down the right, and we can say what we want, but Valencia is pretty good this year. And I would play Mata and Fellaini behind Rooney

    -----------------------------------------De Gea-------------------------------------
    Rafael-------------------Smalling----------------Jones-----------------------Rojo
    ------------------------------------------Blind--------------------------------------
    Valencia---------------------Mata---------------Fellaini-------------------Di Maria
    ----------------------------------------Rooney---------------------------------------

    ----------------De Gea---------------
    --Valencia--Smalling--Jones--Rojo--
    --Di Maria--Herrera--Blind--Young--
    -----------------Mata-----
    ----------------Rooney-----

    I think we'll get:

    ----------------De Gea---------------
    --Valencia--Jones--Rojo----Young
    --------------Blind--Rooney
    ------Di Maria-------------Mata-----
    ------------Wilson-------RVP-----

    How about:

    DDG
    Young - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera - Di Maria
    Mata
    Wilson - Rooney

    ---------------------DDG--------------------
    McNair-----Jones-------Smalling-----Rojo
    -----Herrera (fat chance)---Blind----------
    Young-----Mata (fat chance)------Di Maria
    ----------------Rooney (fat chance)--------

    DDG
    Jones - Rojo
    Valencia - Blind - Young
Rooney - Fellaini - Di Maria
    Van Persie - Falcao
    It'll be something like that.
