Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • In the last couple of years we’ve had a 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 and 7-0, all that’s missing is a 6.

Imagine if we thumped them. Just pulled our own 4-0 out from nowhere.

I think he'll use Amad at RWB.

    --------------------------------Onana
    --------------Mazraoui-------Maguire------Martinez
    Amad------------------------------------------------------Dalot
    -------------------Ugarte--------------Mainoo
    -------------------Bruno----------------?
    ------------------------------Hojlund
Likely an unpopular opinion but I'd go with Malacia at left wing back backed up with Mazraoui on that side. Malacia done a good job on Salah before and was doing a reasonable job on Saka before a harsh booking. Id trust him defensively to do a man marking job more than Dalot. The attacking threat would then have to come from the right hand side

Score would be 10-0 with this line-up. Martinez and Dalot against Salah is a death sentence. I wouldn't even tune in. Maguire against which ever mobile forward they want to use as false 9 (Darwin, Jota, Gakpo) is almost as bad. Back 3 needs to be totally mobile for us to have even a glimmer of hope. That should mean no Maguire or Martinez.

    Now this is embarrassing.
FFS, why are people wanting the fixture cancelled. I want the game to go ahead and just go for it!!!
I'm not trying to troll but this isn't going to be a pretty game. These players seem to be shellshocked or something, like they've no idea what to do after they get the ball. It's completely disjointed. I'm keeping hopes low.

I could see us changing it up a bit today. Surely there’s no way we go to anfield with marauding wing backs and a 2 in midfield? The alternative is Mazraoui and Dalot in a flat back 5 but everyone knows that means we won’t score.

    Onana

    Mazraoui
    Maguire
    De Ligt
    Martinez

    Ugarte
    Mainoo
    Bruno

    Amad
    Hojlund
    Garnacho

Versatile and solid back 4, numbers in the middle and pace on the break seems sensible. I’m fairly sure I’ll be wrong about that though and it’ll be Maz/Dalot at wingback with a 2 in the middle

Sorry, but this post is representing everything that's wrong with the club's fans and culture. And every mistake we should avoid doing.

We're never in a million years playing 4 at the back. Why do people keep posting this idea? Never going to happen.

My prediction: their fans will get carried away and will break into the stadium to build snowmen and have snowball fights on the pitch.

Early into the game, Bruno takes a punt from some ridiculous angle outside of the box. The ball ricochets off a snowman, wrong-foots their keeper, and trickles feebly over the line and into the goal.

The rest of a game is a defensive masterclass from us. Maguire puts in a Herculean effort at the back, heading everything away that moves. Mainoo and Ugarte are swashbuckling away in midfield. Casemiro cheers away on the touchline as he tucks into his Burger King. Antony is excitedly spinning away with the ball in the corner to eat time away after the 15-minute mark. We win by a single goal. Their collapse begins and we all spend the rest of the day at Wing's.

Apparently the team had 2 training sessions this week so that’s Amorims go to reason/excuse out the window for this match.

I’m expecting a better performance than most, more akin to the 1st half against Arsenal away.

There is 0 chance we don’t go 3 at the back.
I think you’re right, I just hope we’ve learned from weeks gone by and don’t see the same back 5. It’s the sort of game where your system goes out the window anyway. We shouldn’t approach it in the same way we would a fellow bottom half side.
Sorry, but this post is representing everything that's wrong with the club's fans and culture. And every mistake we should avoid doing.
    Everything that’s wrong? Everything?

You also didn't have 5cm of snow to handle :p
This is a very common misconception I have experienced being familiar with Germany, Austria and the UK. Your perception is that the snow height has anything to do with it because in the Germanic countries, that is the measure. You also have snow tires for the winter, which the UK does not. The reality is that the concern is mostly about ice and the danger that comes with it and very little to do with snow. You don’t really experience ice trouble so don’t relate to it. Your snow also tends to be the soft, fluffy. crimpling kind, that is idyllic and picturesque, not stuff that turns into very dangerous slip and slide traps.

Having experienced your winters first hand, I can tell you it has very little relation to what we get in the UK. It’s hard for that to be conveyed so jokes about snow height abound, but you’re mostly talking about a very different winter and set of pitfalls.

If he can’t instil his philosophy, reverse catastrophic morale and turn a bunch of average footballers into a team that can beat the side running away with the league in two training sessions then you’ve really got to question why we even hired him.

I know right. 2 training sessions is more than enough to topple the best team this season. Sack incoming if we don't win 5-0.

I'm not denying any of this, but I lived in Leicester for a while. Winter tyres are a big part of it, but I remember public traffic coming to a standstill at miniscule amounts of snow.

You're totally right though that ice is the much bigger danger and what will lead to this postponement, if it happens

I'll still take a canceled match today and delay the inevitable.

The issue is the front 3, not the back 5. Also the issue vs Newcastle was Casemiro and Eriksen in midfield with Zirkzee as a 10, rather than Ugarte and Mainoo with Bruno.

I posted similar (minus the ten scoreline) in a previous post. But, is there an argument for Licha in midfield?

Ah yeh, two training sessions are definitely enough for a hopeless group of players to learn a system they don’t know how to play and probably never will.

The training excuse is more than acceptable until the summer in my eyes, I don’t expect an improvement and I doubt we will see one. For me this is very much like the Ragnick season, just work out who is actually worth keeping at the club and who we need.

We need a new set of players and a pre-season, anything up until then is just weathering the storm

Honestly, if they do every dirty scouse trick to get this played and we beat them, I will see it as one of the greatest non-cup-final wins of all time.

    The fecking shit scouse cnuts

The snow might save us? Apparently safety meeting about to take place
What snow ?, going by what the media where saying I was expecting to have to dig myself out of the front door this morning.

I see a bit of sleet and that's it.

I'm old enough to remember the days we had proper snow, how did we survive ?

Nobody here cares about snow or height of it, but the very first groan will be about ice and the danger it brings on both roads and streets. We also have black ice, which is the special ops of ice that is trying to claim at least ankles and car insurance. Our temperatures don’t hold for long enough for the lovely snow to fall and set, which is why we have all the lovely sleet, ice and panic stations.

I have heard all the jokes from those I know in the aforementioned countries and it is quite surreal how different the winters are that they won’t really get it unless they come and experience it for themselves.

Leicester? You poor guy. What sin did you have to serve repentance for there?

We haven’t scored a single goal yet with Mazraoui and Dalot as our wing backs. It’s a trend that stretches his entire tenure so far, it wasn’t just the Newcastle game.

Hopefully we see that. It's a shame Mount can't stay fit. He'd be good for this game.
