Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Are you new to the UK as well as the forum? This country falls apart at the first sign of anything beyond the boundaries of grey skies and no wind.

And also, too hot? Train lines buckle and hosepipe bans for everyone. We just like our drab grey middle of the road weather

Yeah we'll have some other hard games, but none against our biggest rival who are at the absolute top of their game, while we're slap-bang in the middle of relegation form, with confidence at an all-time low. If this match goes ahead it'll beat the 7-0 scoreline and personally, I would prefer not to let them have that to brag about for years to come.

So many scared people on here ffs, it's embarrassing, bring the cnuts on, let the match be played.

It's nothing to do with the staff or players, it's about the fans getting to the ground, it's a health and safety thing.

Well yes that too, but I haven't seen anyone here say they're concerned about travelling to the game, just a bunch of fans begging for the game to get cancelled because they believe we're guaranteed defeat.

Not really, we have train cancellations for weather that is too cold, too hot, too windy, too many leaves on the line, too much fog.

Yes, really. You have train cancellations for a variety of reasons.

Anyway, despite the UK falling apart, the match looks certain to go ahead, whilst travel services are gradually returning as they adapt to inclement conditions.

Not arsed about bragging. You just need to be abler at countering.

Hopefully the game will be played today.

The fans wanting the game cancelled feels a bit like hoping that a school exam will be postponed.

I agree with the cancel the season sentiment. Far too much snow overnight to play any football for the next 4 months.

Hoping we can start this match well and disallow Liverpool from railroading us like Newcastle did.

Not conceding from their first attack would be a welcome update.

Can't see us getting a goal. Thinking of another rout, but we can always blame the weather (tongue-in-cheek) because, if we win, it's exactly what LFC fans will do.

Yes really. It's wild how a country comes to a halt over 5cm of snow
Well the country is not coming to a halt, a game of football might be postponed

It makes more sense than building expensive infrastructure that's used 1 day a year.

Surprised so many of you want the game to go ahead, if it was the other way I’d definitely want it called off.

Desperate for it to go ahead today though especially after the Chelsea and Arsenal results yesterday.

Damn it. Wished they'd just cancel it and give the 3 points to Liverpool. Saving us from a humiliating 8-0 loss. (I've a tenner on this)

    See... this guy gets it.

Indeed, in fact modern steel rails have a roughly 60 degree operating range, which is usually between -20 and +40 degrees Celsius, with the maximum operational rating being 59 degrees. Since rails are around 20 degrees warmer than the ambient air temperature surrounding them, it soon becomes clear why +40 degree days cause major disruption on the UK network.

Why? It's not like the game goes away.

The title 'race' has long been over.

You're only going to win because of the weather.

(You may borrow this if we defy reality).

I think it's a mix of really wanting to watch a game of football and holding on to some idea of nobility/masculinity or fear of looking weak.

I'm fine with it going ahead, but it would obviously be better for us to play it later in the season and get more time on the training pitch and maybe acquire a left wing-back in the meantime.

Even with Liverpool in top form, I still hope Amorim doesn't use Dalot and Maz as the wing-backs again.

Delaying the decision seems like an utterly inconsiderate move from a traveling fan perspective, glad it won’t be our fans that have to put up with this nonsense, just make a call either way.
any one going clearly has a humiliation kink, and will get a kick out of being treated like they don’t matter. they’ll be trains and buses full of erections at the thought of having to turn round.

People just don’t want another confidence battering loss after 4 losses in a row. It’s understandable.

We’re probably going to lose whenever it’s played, but 1. We might put up a better fight and 2. It’s better to lose one game than 5 or 6 on the spin which only puts more pressure on Amorim.

I think he'll use Amad at RWB.

Hopefully the weather is not terrible and it goes ahead. Get the pain out of the way early and forget about it. The second half of our season officially starts after Arsenal.
