  • Delaying the decision seems like an utterly inconsiderate move from a traveling fan perspective, glad it won’t be our fans that have to put up with this nonsense, just make a call either way.

If there isn't already, just throw grit everywhere around the ground. Unless more snow is falling, there is no reason why they can't make this game go ahead.

Well I will be holding it against you. Who is “we”?
    No-one cares, dude.

It's meme-tastic 'think of all those travelling fans from Surrey!' the paddy power crowd think is genius.

If it’s 11:45 it’ll go ahead. It’d of been cancelled earlier to help anyone traveling.

Selfishly I wanted it off as my wife’s unwell and my son is meant to be going to a birthday party at 2…

Shovels are out although this bloke seems to have time travelled an hour into the future. 10.20?

It's sad how much we struggle with adverse weather

Yeah I’m surprised they’ve delayed it, people travel to Liverpool games from all over the UK. They can see the forecast so it shouldn’t be that hard to make a decision.

One of the biggest issues will be the game not finishing till 6.30. It’ll be dark, the snow will have frozen and turned to ice. I’m surprised they didn’t call it off.

Yeah much like United, they have fans who travel far and wide for their games.

They're assessing the remaining weather, but it does seem a bit pointless. The weather may worsen after 1145, and closer to KO time.

Reckon they're trying to remove themselves from further litigation. If there's any travelling accidents, they'll want the responsibility far away from themselves as possible.

Concerned how the players will react to the game going ahead.

We can't concentrate for longer than five minutes at a time. Possibly crestfallen they have to attend work.

Rather just get the game out of the way. We're not going to be drastically better with the same players in a couple of months time. Our league campaign is over anyway.

I mean I get that London or southern parts are ill prepared to handle snow but surely northerners see a lot more snow during the winter and should be more equipped to deal with it without much fuss.

I think we can all relate to that.

We certainly could be better than our current woeful form? In fact it’s far more likely we’re better than the dog shit form we are in right now.

Humanity loses. Football wins! It’s a sad day

    An update on Sunday's match

Our match against Liverpool is set to still go ahead at this stage, despite snow and weather warnings in the North West on Sunday.

On social media platform X, our hosts posted: "A safety meeting was held this morning to assess the weather and travel conditions for today's fixture against Manchester United at Anfield.

"At this stage the match is planned to go ahead as normal and every effort is being made to get the game on.

"A further safety meeting will take place again at midday to assess the latest conditions.

"We will update supporters just as soon as we can."

Take care if you are travelling to the game today, Reds. We will update you with the latest developments.

Weird to see people wanting this game to go ahead (unless they're currently traveling there) - we could really, really do with this being delayed until later in the season. Playing this match today will see a record breaking loss for us, but later on we might have some new signings and the manager might have finally managed to inspire some of these players to play football.

We'll be huge underdogs whenever it is. If postponed it would probably be around the time the points would seal the title. Let them have their moment now and move on.

 Rearrange all the other hard games until we're ready too.

Yeah we'll have some other hard games, but none against our biggest rival who are at the absolute top of their game, while we're slap-bang in the middle of relegation form, with confidence at an all-time low. If this match goes ahead it'll beat the 7-0 scoreline and personally, I would prefer not to let them have that to brag about for years to come.

Fairly certain this goes ahead now with the decision pushed back.

Manchester 3 degrees throughout the day and night and heavy rain should be washed away as it's just a thin layer. Temps are only dropping around Tue night but Liverpool today 1 degree, with mixture of rain and snow expected. Could be a problem with travel around the area.

You also have to think about other incidents and how stretched emergency services can be. Sadly lots of crashes and there's the more difficult areas outside of the cities/towns.
