This is correct just looked on MEN

‘The Liverpool City Council's Safety Advisory Group have confirmed a safety meeting will take place at 9am this morning.

This will be to determine whether the game at Anfield will go ahead at 4:30pm this afternoon.’

They'll be meeting now, then. Unless the meeting itself was cancelled. In which case, we be fecked

As a person living in a northern state in the US I don't understand sometimes how relatively minimal amounts of snow or ice can completely paralyze certain parts of Europe. If it d in areas surrounding the Mediterranean I could sort of get it but for airports to even get shut down over those small amounts seems crazy to me.

I'll get off my high horse now.
Because it’s not worth the cost to rebuild infrastructure to support this kind of weather. I’d wager the vast majority of cars don’t have winter tyres for example, it’s just not culturally the done thing to prepare for the odd time every three or four years this happens.

You guys are getting tediously aggressive over a potential cancellation of a football game.
    Take sometime out.
    Build a Snowman.

Ya there are some strange comments just wanting us to just play this game and get battered when we are clearly are an all time low. It’s like they want us to get battered so they can rant on here for the week.
Yeh exactly this! Such a strange mentality.

Can't there isn't enough snow. Which makes the whole idea of cancelling the game a laughing stock.

It isn't though is it? A strange mentality is grown men and women demanding a game be postponed cos they're scared of what might happen.

    Get a grip.
I think you're the one that needs to get a grip, some of us in here have a different opinion than you, get over it.

If the game had any risk of a postponement, then surely it would have been announced by now that their will be an inspection at a particular time today to decide game on or off.

Every 3 or 4 years? We had more snow than this 3-4 weeks ago. In northern England you get snow probably 3-4 times a year. Snow exactly like what we have had overnight, i.e. not actually that much, but enough to cause some minor transport issues.

They only met at 9am apparently, so won't hear anything for at least an hour or so

Don't understand why you'd want the game called off, I'd like to watch my team play and further down the line we have to play them at anfield anyway, delaying it is just kicking the can down the road.

Unless there is a real safety risk for the staff and players then yes call it off but wanting it called off because you are scared makes us sound like a bunch of fairies

It's nothing to do with the staff or players, it's about the fans getting to the ground, it's a health and safety thing.

    Thank you!!

I don't think fear is the motivation behind wanting a postponement, rather opportunism. If you believe we will improve under Amorim, which more training and players learning the system, it just makes sense wanting the hardest possible match at a later time

It may not have been that bad where you are, but there’s quite clearly a decent chunk of snow in other areas. Did the airports close 3-4 weeks ago?

Either way, it’s pointless comparing it to countries that get snow consistently throughout winter.

It's really not bad in Manchester at all. It's also raining.

Looking alright in Bramhall, if that's anything to go by, but it's been snowing heavily and maybe will again.

Chances are cancellation due to travel concerns, but that's really it.
