  • Prefer postponement. Lets screw up their schedule.

They won't have a schedule to screw up. League is done and we're a home fixture they could rotate heavily for and still win pretty comfortably. We must have the worst record at Anfield than any EPL side over the last 10 years? What is it, 1 win 1 draw?

Forecast does show moderate/heavy snow for almost 9 hours in Liverpool … I don’t know how is the situation live there but 9 hours of a snow here in Canada means no chance of a football match to go through … if anyone has an update please let us know

If the game is called off it will be the biggest slice of luck we've had in ages. More time on the training pitch to prepare for a more important match against Southampton.

Can't see this being cancelled due to some snow, it's a massive game with huge viewings figures for broadcasters all around the world. If it was Fulham Vs Southampton maybe....

2 wins and 4 draws for us there in the last 10 (league) meetings. It surprisingly gives us one of the best records there over that sort of timeframe. Thing is, those 2 wins were 9 and 10 meetings ago, and 2 of the draws were 7 and 8 ago, still living off that. More recently it's been awful.

Even so, it's Anfield. Plenty of clubs with disastrous records there.

    Last 10 there:

    Palace W4 D1
    United W2 D4
    Villa W2 D2
    Chelsea W1 D5
    City W1 D3
    Everton W1 D2
    Southampton W1 D2
    West Ham W1 D1
    Arsenal W0 D4
    Newcastle W0 D4
    Spurs W0 D3

    Last 6 is like this:

    Brighton W1 D2
    Chelsea W1 D2
    City W1 D2
    Palace W1 D1
    Everton W1 D0
    Arsenal W0 D2
    United W0 D2
    Villa W0 D1
    Newcastle W0 D1
    Spurs W0 D1
    West Ham W0 D0

Gentlemen, as you head into the meat grinder of Anfield, know that you carry the hopes and dreams of a tired Manchester United nation with you.

    Godspeed!

I can , they have to think about safety.
So what if it’s a massive game, currently snow heavy both Liverpool and Manchester airports are closed.
If the conditions dictate then it’s off, it has to be.

This is always such a weird fixture. Whenever I think we'll get smashed we actually do alright and whenever I think we might do well, we get smashed. Considering how shit we are at the moment, I should perhaps be optimistic.

By doing well you mean avoiding humiliation? Because we haven’t won in this fixture since LVG

There’s also 60k fans that need to get to the stadium from around the country and UK infrastructure just isn’t set up to accommodate ice and snow. Frozen roads and pavements make travel dangerous and certain train services often have to stop. Anfield will have the pitch prepared for it no doubt but it means nothing if it’s ultimately too dangerous or difficult for fans who have paid for tickets to get there safely.

This will be the first match I will not be watching live. It is sad I but, I didn't think when I listened to Sir Alex back in 2013 with the back the new manager speech.
I said to the fella next to me imagine if we don't win a league in years and we both laughed it off.

Who is laughing now eh? Certainly not me.

Unlikely that this is going to go ahead given the amount of snow. Hopefully it’ll be rescheduled until after we’ve had 3 transfer windows at least

The UK's heavy snow is nothing like canadas heavy snow.

About 2cm has fallen overnight, temperatures above freezing and sleet is forecast for rest of the day, can't see it getting called off for that.

    Laughter died.

Exactly, condition of the pitch takes a back seat today.

Bit off topic, but flightradar is interesting right now, watching the planes circling.

The best part is that is shows the snow vehicles moving around the runway at Manchester. Didn't know it would do that! Registrations SNOW1, SNOW2 etc.

Woken up in the south surprised to see heavy snow. And I thought it was the North that was going to be worse. So maybe they'll still call it off?

Just been watching that too! Absolutely nil snow vehicles at Liverpool airport.

Probably been nicked and now doing donuts down Speke Boulevard.

The only negative to the game getting postponed is the fixture might get rescheduled closer to the finishing line of the season and we might end up doing a gourd of honour.

If the game cancelled does this translate to more training sessions for the squad because there won’t be any recovery day?

So effectively from the 31st until the Arsenal game the team could squeeze in a few training sessions,

This could be the break that Arom has been hoping for, he gets proper time with the squad.

It’s not the premier league or Sky’s call. Looking at the news I can’t see it going ahead. People will be travelling from all over the UK and I would imagine the motorways are pretty bad right now.

Cars doing a good job of clearing it in Crosby near Liverpool, first to that slushy stuff and then to nothing?

Yeh I don't think they're going to be too impressed with us lining up a load of fruit for them instead of the players

Is that when all the players have to put their hands on their hips and go “oh my gourd, well done you guys!”
