Ideally I’d like to see a convincing win against this lot but getting another 3 points on the board is the main thing, especially at this stage of the season

They will smoke us with 3 shitty goals and we’ll be left wondering wtf we have to do to win the league again

I'd be okay with a draw. A win would be fantastic. Still far too early in the season to make a prediction.

We need to win this somehow. Shithouse a win. We need to keep this positivity going. Good luck hing is we have decent amount of time to work on things as no midweek games.

Let's hope we get our tactics spot on and no funky red cards and we might have a chance. But Brighton away has been a bit of bummer for us recently.

We need to be very compact without the ball like with did against city in the commentary shield, when we have the balll move quickly and hit them with sucker punches.

Dont think Zirkzee will start.. Garnacho might pushing either Mount Amad or Rashford out.. Wonder if De Ligt will start ahead of Maguirr

Shithouse a win? I'd much rather we play good football and slap them in this managers now third season in charge.

I think Zirkzee in for Mount, De Ligt in for Maguire, and Garnacho in for Amad.
Zirkzee for Mount as only change. Maguire was excellent and Diallo needs a run in the first team, he was very good in the first half

United could and probably should of been winning 2-0 by half time against Fulham, so I have no problem with the same eleven starting against Brighton.

Second half...Zirkzee can appear earlier, Garnacho for Rashford, De Ligt earlier.

Then you can look at the 180 minutes so far and begin to settle on a team after Liverpool (and Internationals)

It's a funny one for team selection as people seem to be viewing it as players being 'dropped' if others come in from the start. But it's not like some were being selected because they were 'ahead' of others, or some on the bench 'behind' in the pecking order.

It was more that some on the bench had been playing for their national team during the summer and then had a break, and so didn't play friendlies and so were less ready for starts over the last couple of weeks. That shouldn't put them behind others in a pecking order if they're now deemed physically ready for starts.

So I see no problem if ETH opts to switch anyone and bring in any of the likes of Garnacho, Zirkzee, De Ligt, etc. It's a squad business nowadays, and those players are also worthy of starting games and don't want to be behind others in match fitness by having a slow start to the new season with missing games and just a few sub appearances. We need to get them quickly up to speed as well as the others.

"Excellent" is relative and I don't think they brought De Ligt here to sit. I'd honestly be fine with either Diallo or Garnacho. Just my instincts that tell me Garnacho starts...and eventually moves to the left when Rashford is pulled and Diallo enters.

agree that De Ligt will eventually be the long term solution but it would be stupid to drop Maguire when he is doing so well and so full of confidence

So we're just waiting on him to make a howler so we can drop him? What if he doesn't have any stinkers over the next couple of months? When is the acceptable time to bench him, if not now?

Are we seriously going to sit £90m worth of centre backs in De Ligt and Yoro on the bench for a player ETH was happy to get rid of last year but he refused to leave because we wouldn't pay off his contract. And then at the end of the season Maguire leaves for free having started ahead of our new signings for most of the season because it was unfair to drop him while he was "full of confidence".

If you're ETH you just pull the plug now before you give yourself a bigger headache by treating him as a first choice. The backlash when he gets dropped eventually will only be bigger the longer you start him for.

Liverpool wouldn't let Gomez play ahead of VVD because Gomez had one good game in his absence.

Should be an unchanged XI IMO.

I can see ETH benching Rashford or Amad for Garnacho, though.

Based on last week's performance, I don't see a win here. If Zirkzee or Hojlund were fit to start(and play the whole game), I would be more optimistic. No one else can properly finish(score) in the squad, apart from McTominay who is not going to start.

They are playing at home and are better technically(on the ball) than us. They will have more possession, and we don't really have enough pace in the attack now to counterattack(Rashford is in poor form and slower than he used to be).

I expect a loss, draw is very possible. Would be pretty surprised if we managed to outplay them and win.

They had trouble containing Everton ffs. We should just have a go at them and produce a thoroughly deserved win like we did against Fulham. With one difference: finish more chances.

I expect we win this game.

If we are going on last week's performance then there shouldn't be an expectation that Brighton will have more possession than us. It was around 48-52% at half time before Young got sent off. It was a fairly end to end game which might suit us. I thought Everton were naive defensively but still had their own chances too despite the lack of talent in their squad. We struggle going to the Amex but we should be winning this one.

I can see De Ligt starting if Maguire is doubt, if Maguire is fit, then I can see him staring ahead of De Ligt, Mazraoui starts because him & Dalot are the only fit FBs and Martinez is needed to play in LCB

If we go in with Casemiro, Mainoo and Bruno as the midfield three they’ll run through us, we need some legs and tenacity in there hence why I’d play Mount as well.
I agree on Mount, we might be bit toothless upfront but Bruno & Mount will help in condensing the center, vs Fulham, Bruno & Mount helped defend high up and in the mid-block too which prevented us having wide open spaces in midfield, of course we were countered twice or more but that comes with the territory of playing high up and pinning a team down.

Danny Welbeck goal is pretty much a given, so we'll need to score at least 2 here to win.

Maguire was decent the last day.No more than that.He gave the ball away too often towards the end.

Same eleven I think, Ten Hag wants the players to really earn their spot before changing. Maguire did oke and Garnacho wasn’t that great when he came on the field. Mount is important for the press and to keep the midfield compact.

I think Garna will come in for Amad the only change from the Fulham game. Maybe Amad sub later on

I'd go other way around. Amad was way more secure in possession than Garnacho. Bring Garnacho on when hopefully there is more space and their defenders are a bit tired.
