We’ve been excellent just toothless in attack. They create one quarter chance and score from it. Games there to be won, Garnacho, Zirkzee and Mctomminy on soon please.

Looked good, couldn’t finish. Amad not having a great game - the pass for Rashford was really poor.

Much better defensively where we’re not leaking chance after chance - but one defensive lapse and they score from it (what felt like their only attack)

I think with some attacking changes, we can turn it around in the second half

Fair to say Zirkzee and Garnacho needed fairly early on.

Think we've played well though tbh

Joao Pedro still my favourite forward outside the big 6 in the league ahead of Cunha.

Can play every position in the front 4, two footed...I'd love him here if we ever sack up and sell Rashford.

I think it’s safe to say we are all a little in confident in our team. Let’s hope they go for it in the second half.

I haven't disliked our general shape and performance so far. We seem to be much better drilled across all areas of the pitch - a disciplined and effective press, good defensive transitions, and a clear desire to play around the press. On the ball it's been a little hit and miss, but primarily from sloppy touches and passes rather than a tactical failure - but it's clicked often enough that we've been able to get into very good attacking positions, primarily getting our wingers and Mount / Bruno facing defenders 1 on 1 with runners around them - that's where I think we've been let down by poor individual quality, particularly on deliveries. Mount has been excellent as well - I hope we don't take him off.

Frustrating to be 1-0 behind at half time when United had more of the ball and shots/chances in that half. Amad has to be scoring his opportunity set up superbly by Dalot.

Brighton scored from their own effort on target and wouldn't have been a chance at all had Maguire dealt with the cross. Typical it had to be Welbeck to score, hopefully the 2nd half changes deliver an impact and United earn at least a draw out of this match.

Switched off for the goal but have looked the better team throughout. Frustrating.

Mount has actually been very tidy so far.

Yeah I wouldn't gamble on Zirkzee just yet. The system is working fine, time to make some incremental changes instead of changing the entire dynamic.

That's because we have completed stifled them with our set-up and press from the front.

I can take losing games like this because it shows promise for what might be achieved when we have our best XI out and they have had a bit more time to get familiar with one another.

I'd almost rather see us lose games but play well than win games but play appallingly, because what we need now is signs of tactical development and structure
Am right there with you. If the performance was the same w reversed teams I'd be way more worried.

Maguire simply lacks the mentality to play at the top level. He's scared. This gives ETH permission to move De Ligt in now.

Big half ahead given how hard our schedule is. Brighton are there for the taking if we sort it out.b

I sense some fear in our play. Bit of respect from Brighton. Caused us to be apprehensive with our pressing and conviction.

Amad had a total shocker first half too, be surprised if he comes out for the second half.
He’s got to improve and Someone from all our newly appointed execs needs to tell ETH if Sancho not sold he picks the right and left winger on form in training and match day, we have no goal threat, look like a mid table team that now wants to work hard and nick games 1-0, let’s see if we get ETH from season 1 or Season 2 because of he doesn’t show more in making the right changes, he might find himself with only 5 points from the first 4 or 5 games and inevitably a load of pressure on his shoulders.

This United team can’t do both, it can’t be compact and difficult to play against and equally expansive in its ability to open teams up and clinically take its chances.

Have we improved, maybe a little bit we are still awful with Casemiro stinking the midfield out, his pass completion is truly awful and he just looks lost in PL pace.

Not enough threat in the front 4. Zirkzee on please. Garnacho for Amad. Rashford actually has been alright.

Martinez clearly takes a while to get to speed.

Disagree, Amad has gone at his man on a couple of occasions and but for some bad decision making and a final pass he’d have created a goal already. Rashford on the other hand is worse than having 10 men since he insists on ending our attacks with the offside flag when he bothers to get involved. He isn’t good enough and anyone still backing the lad is sentimental at best.
Amads just lost the ball mostly. Missed our best chance that people would be hammering Rashford

Double standards, not uncommon here, a lot have it in for Rashford so i understand why you’d be wrong

There are some good things we are doing, but for all the energy we spend getting the ball back, we look clurless with it.

Rashford, Amad, and Mainoo have all been terrible. Ofcourse EtH will do nothing to address the situation.

Look at the best teams in the league, they all have wingers who can take on and beat players for fun. These kind of players create panic and spaces in opposition's defence. We continue to play slow football enabling teams to get 10 men behind the ball but somehow the opposition is able to bypass our midfield and attack our back 4 without much effort. EtH doesn't seem to know how to organise a defence or an attack.

Mount and Bruno are building good understanding is nice to see.

Amad has messed up three good breaks and managed to completely misjudge Dalot’s cross. Take off the rose tinted glasses, he’s been terrible.

Amad could also have done a lot more for their goal. He should have identified that our defenders were outnumbered, but instead he just stood there. He only started moving when it was far too late.

Poor defending for their goal, which is especially frustrating considering I think we've been had an otherwise decent away performance. Some good pressing at the front.

This one's on Maguire and Ten Hag for Maguire starting. De Ligt should be on at half time if he's fit enough.

We need a striker to do striker things. The movements from Rashford and Mount in the box aren't good enough.

We're missing Hojlund but Zirkzee has to come on asap, as the Bruno and Mount arrangement isn't leading to GOALS.

Garnacho Zirkzee and De Ligt for Rashford Amad and Maguire. send the message to Maguire that he is not good enough and replace him early.
