  • Onana
Dalot - De Ligt - Maguire - Mazraoui
    Casemiro - Ugarte
    Amad - Mainoo - Rashford
    Bruno
We have to do something different. It's obvious he will never drop Bruno so play him as a false 9 so we can play with a more disciplined midfield three and hopefully not get overrun. Dalot has been fecking shocking at LB so try Mazraoui there instead. And it's time to drop Martinez and give Maguire a run in the team.

Who is out for this? Would love for Mount to get a run in this game.

Feel they will rip us apart through the middle and would pack it with Mount , Mainoo and Ugarte. If he has to play Bruno put him front 3.

Would not put de Ligt alongside Maguire.

Be like two oil tankers in the Americas Cup.

Rogers will be licking his lips at the amount of space he’ll be able to walk through unopposed. Expect him to have an assist or two.

    Here’s my prediction:

    - we’ll start well on the front foot
    - feel a brief sense of relief
    - get hit on the break, they score first chance
    - we capitulate
    - 2 bookings before half time
    - random half time sub
    - total disarray
    - they score 2 more
    - 3-0 Villa full time
    - calls for EtH sacking
    - EtH stays

We'll win. EtH stays. There will be "Can a win be a loss" thread as a result.

Feel like it could be ETH's last. Where did it go wrong? Mediocre players or mediocre coaching? Or just low standards of a farmer's league?

A win would be incredible. Whether ten hag stays or not, we have a chance to vaguely stay in touch with top 4 before a slightly better run of fixtures on paper. For all the disaster, a win leaves us 2 off Newcastle and 3 off villa who are realistic top 4 candidates

Lots of fans seem to be underestimating Villa.

It will be our Beach boys playing against proper Athletes
Most on this thread from what I've read haven't underestimated Villa. Main issue for me is United don't make themselves difficult to score against and beat which can get very messy when coming up against a top 6 team in the league.

Think we'll lose and think he won't see out the night.

Anybody looking for glimmer of hope might want to know villa have yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and clutching at straws, we actually haven't been bad at chance creation. Our finishing is truly awful. Weirdly we also have joint highest clean sheets so far

Lastly, that's a tough injury list. Onana, Bailey, mcginn and ramsay potentially all missing

They are a good side and thus will outclass as easily just like every other decent team does (minus a few defensive masterclasses like the final).

If he is still here after that kind of result then would be an enormous black mark against INEOS

I have not watched Villa this season, but if they continue their high line from last season, we can be set up to beat them on the counter like last season. The main question is will our hierarchy do what is necessary regardless of this result?

I can't see that happening if we win

An unlikely win today, keeps us just about in touch and within reach of the top 6 and a chance to regroup and make a come back.

A loss keeps us just 4 points above the relegation zone.
Had Palace not been denied a penalty yesterday, it would be just 3 points and one result away from a relegation fight.
As it is, a loss puts use in deep shite, with the prospect of a very long and difficult climb, just to get up to the top half of the table.
At least one or two of the other struggling teams around us at the bottom of the table, will probably start to get their act together, making it harder for us to pull away from the lower half of the table. Even with a few good results.
This snakes and ladders territory, even with ETH gone a new manager bounce.

    .

    I expect a win

Not because we’re better than them. Or because I anticipate a good performance.

I expect a win because we’re an unacceptable 14th running shoulders with Leicester, Everton and Ipswich

If we lose. I expect a sacking

The problem is we don’t see anything different from ETH. Especially when we start leaking goals. It’s the same old hoof the ball to Garnacho or rashford and let them hit on counter, especially with Villa high line. Like for like subs and cross and pray

Every post I read expects Villa to batter us.
Quite seemingly happy to see defeat cos they think it'll hasten ETH's demise.

We've played six games. Don't be a drama queen.

So after his showing against Porto some people prefer De Ligt to Martinez?!
    Never!

Good point. I am just writing with disappointment/Ten Hag can't improve us Glasses.

In olden days it was United will find a way to win nowadays it has become United will find a way to lose

Contrary to what many on here think, this won't be an easy ride for Villa.

Erik currently has 4 wins on the trot against Emery in the last 5 games. The only time Emery beat us was when he first took over.

I do expect Villa to win this one, however I don't think it will be a breeze as most people on here think.

We'll win and be back in a month for the next addition of 'ten Hag has to win this game to keep his job'.

Can see us getting another red card in this game. When we’re getting battered the players lose their heads so quick. We have a mentality issue at the club.

Everyone expecting a loss and ETH to be sacked so we’ll probably drop a convincing 3-0 win
