4-0 to Villa with another Bruno red card sounds about right.

won't be getting 29 shots on goal in this away tie with the way Villa are set up defensively be lucky to get 10 shots. United will need the rub of the green to avoid defeat and could be ugly defeat if players down tools during the match.

    I think we'll fluke a win here
We did that last season. Don't think it'll happen again but perhaps Bayern game drained them mentally and physically (it's our best hope). If Villa play well don't think we can get more than a draw (and that would be unlikely).

I expect they'll take us behind the woodshed and that'll be curtains for the Hag.

The eleven doesn't matter, just pick whichever guys are willing to go out there and take a hiding in service to the greater good.

They will mop the floor with us.

So not looking forward to the weekend :(

Our record against Villa is somehow not actually that bad, despite it seeming like they should be tailor made to annihilate us. We should get destroyed but it wouldn't shock me too much if we somehow manage a draw or even a fluky win. Regardless it has to be Ten Hag's last match.

You put 10 men behind the ball and score a goal on the counter and defend like heroes for the rest of the game. United 1 Villa 0

I guess it's more hope than confidence. But I can't see him staying beyond Villa. Even if he scrapes an unconvincing win.

I am pleading this ends for not just our own good but Erik's too because this has got beyond messy

Not to jinx it, but it's not as cut and dry as people on here believe. Everyone thought that Porto would destroy us today, and yet we came away with a 3-3 draw while being down to 10 men. Not saying we played well, but stranger things happened in football.

When it comes to Villa, we are their bogey team by the looks of it. Think of us as their Brighton. Since Emery's appointment, Ten Hag faced off against him 5 times, winning 4 of those encounters. The only time he lost was 3-1 in the league back in November of 2022 when Emery was first appointed.

While our form does show that we will most likely get beaten, our historic form shows that we will make this a lot harder for Villa than most of us think on here.

Very true, however can't remember ever being in such diabolical form going to a game at Villa

At home they've played into our hands last two seasons under Emery. Even the 1-0 win two seasons ago should've 5-0 to us, their high line and our forwards and Bruno just kept exposing them but our finishing let us down.

I doubt we can win away though but maybe score and make it good for the neutrals, perhaps Villa score a couple and Emery finally closes out the game.

If we do win it wouldn't convince me, nor would it reflect badly on Emery if for whatever reason the blend of players just make United looked good once a season like at home last season in the comeback.

Brace yourselves for an almighty hammering. May not end up being that but prepare yourself for precisely that so that anything less improves your mood.

On one hand I don't think it'll be as bad as some of us are predicting/expecting. We might even get a draw somehow.

But one thing we can expect is that Villa will score 3 goals. We've played three 'decent' or maybe even 'good' sides that we should expect to be at least competitive with, if not better than, and we've conceded 3 goals each time (Liverpool, Spurs, Porto). Rogers will power through our midfield and their forwards will cause us all sorts of problems, if they have a good day of finishing they're definitely bagging.

I'm going to say Villa 3-1 United and it is Bald's last game.

    ----------------Onana---------------------
    Mazraoui--de Ligt--Maguire--Martinez
    ----------Mainoo--Ugarte----------------
    ------Eriksen--Fernandes------------
    -------Rasmus---Rashford---------

Compact and narrow with balls in behind for the two front men to feed of off.
Not sure a centre-half pairing of de Ligt and Maguire has the pace.

    Any pace.

It'll be Licha de Ligt. Sounds like a wrestler and will defend like they are in the throes of an Iron Man Match.

If both Onana and Ramsay are out for Villa, I think ten Hag will scrape a draw. McGinn is injured as well.

Villa are due a win. They blew a 2-0 lead at OT and were the better team at Villa Park last season. Maybe there'll be a hint of wanting to avenge those defeats. Not having to travel back from Europe is a bonus for them.

Get the game out of the way and move on. Win, lose or draw. INEOS need to act next week.
