I didn’t make an argument for anyone to agree or disagree with? You obviously agree with the other poster who wanted the manager sacked even if we win because he didn’t pick the players he wanted him to pick? Got it. I should know better than to expect common sense on here by now I suppose.
You implied as much when you came out with your real fan bollocks.

In isolation, a good point. However in the context of this season this better not keep ETH in the job. I'm worried he'll still be manager after international break. I don't like the idea of Ruud taking over either tbh. INEOS have had enough time to get a proper manager in over the 2 week break.
Allegri and Tuchel are available. they'll probably wait til both of got a job and go for Frank Lampard!! said it before: different names and faces, some clown show. no idea why they gave him a contract extension... (I am, of course joking about Lumpard)

I don’t that he needs wins and he needs them very quickly, his team currently averages 1.14 points per game which is 43 over a full season and we are scoring 0.71 goals per game.

We spent £50 on Ugarte but ETH doesn’t fancy him, M De Ligt looks a championship defender at best, Zirkzee looks completely out of his depth . Mazraoui looks like our only decent signing and he was £15m.

So ETH wasted another £150m to go with the £150m he wasted on Antony and Hojlund.

The club must do the right thing and sack him tomorrow morning, he’s made this club the laughing stock of professional football!
The club do need to sell him but there's not an ounce of me that thought we could get a win today

Omg..Ten Hag's post match comments are so smilingly deluded. Either that or he knows he has a £17m windfall coming..

We can expect more of this sort of football from eth considering that he thinks his job is under threat.

Was watching via Optus Sport and the commentators made a very good point, if Villa score late on or United nick a goal to clinch the win, business people at the level of INEOS shouldn't be swayed by either outcomes but have a definitive decision in mind.

The writing is on the wall this season, it feels like they botched the interviews for other managers in summer and hopefully when re-entering a new round of talks they give a little more in negotiations.
We approached Tuchel during the summer and he turned us down. Ten Hag is only the manager because Tuchel didn’t want it

The Good - Johnny Evan’s, Christian Eriksen, D Dalot, H Maguire, N Mazraoui

The Bad - K Mainoo, Casemiro, M Rashford, Bruno, A Onana, V Lindelof

And the Ugly - A Garnaucho, R Hojlund, Antony and Joshua Zirkzee get’s the Special One award/thats 1 out of 10, quite possibly the worst performance I’ve ever seen from a Man United player.

It’s time to call up Shea Lacey, G Biancheri, E Wheatley, C Obi Martin and drop Zirkzee, Antony and Hojlund to the under 21’s!

I’m positive they’ve made their mind up already and he’s gone, the emergency Tuesday meeting will be to see if they can go get Tuchel and he will want his own back room staff, I think they will want the new head coach to work with RVN and Reny Hake and that might be the issue.

Wasn't the problem with Tuchel that he wanted complete carte blanche which we weren't willing to offer him?

    Was this a crooked referee?

No but you do have to question how they had more fouls than us (12 to 11) but the yellow cards were 1 (and not until the 93rd minute) to 5.

The positives were Rashford looking more and more like the one we expect, Evans playing very well in the back, and the back playing much better as a unit. I see a difference in Onana this season. He looks more composed and isn't getting distracted by nonsense (like AV having a guy run around him on free kicks like an idiot trying to distract him). He's making the saves and not trying to do too much.

But it's still not good enough. Bruno was brutal on the ball again. His passing is just getting worse by the game. The inability for anyone involved in the offensive third to make that last pass is infuriating. Garnacho had the break in the 2nd half and should've had a simple cross to Bruno and Antony running wide open down the left...and he still managed only to find Matty Cash. It's just not good enough and there still is no visible coherent strategy. And what has Amad done this time to get in the doghouse? How is Antony ever the better option?

I won't be surprised if EtH survives this board meeting on Tuesday but it's just time to move on. 14th place on 8 points is horrific. Blowing leads in both EL games. It has to be consistently better. But the only consistent thing they've done under EtH is be infuratingly inconsistent...not just from game to game but within games themselves.

And they should have made their minds up based on last season and up to now.
The results and performances have been completely unacceptable for any club, let alone Manchester United.

Yep, I read something that he wanted a transfer veto like ETH but right now we need to focus on January and improve this squad urgently.

We must loan or buy the following and probably have very little cash to do so maybe £50-60m max unless we sell Bruno, Casemiro or Antony, all highly unlikely.

    LB/LWB - A Robinson/A Nori £25
    Young CM - C Rigg /£15m
    RWS - T Dibbling /£20m
    Experienced CF - D Wellbeck /£5m

If we are not going to be this active early January, then We need to fast track Sekou Kone, S Lacey, C Obi Martin, J Fletcher, G Biancheri, E Wheatley and Harry Amass and accept 9th -12th this season as we rebuild slowly, maybe concentrate all our efforts on Europa League?

It’s not an emergency meeting though. It’s been reported they’re having monthly meetings now

We spoke to Tuchel in July he turned us down

Ugarte is only in the door. Hojlund was always going to be first choice once fit and De Ligt has played a lot since he's come in and been a mixed bag really.

    I don't think it's all that strange.
The signings he made should have been an improvement on what we already had, that's the idea behind new signings but they've been far from that. We had £100m worth of CBs on the bench between de Ligt and Martinez, whilst Johnny Evans should them both how to defend with composure.

The least said about Zirkzee, the better, he's a complete waste of money and I'd have rather watched Lukaku try and trap some of the passes Zirkzee received and that's saying something.

Yeah, they've told us enough times.

Been there 3 years apparently, getting all this coverage out of nowhere. Did they beat Bayern with a set piece or something? Or is it just because of the focus on Arsenal and their set pieces the past few weeks so all set piece coaches are now celebrities?
Haha yes they are celebs now thanks to Arsenal. But the focus on him was really weird. Was zoomed in more often than Emery who’s done a pretty decent job imo.

Did not expect us to get a clean sheet, especially when our back line was changed again at HT, from this game so a positive nevertheless. Still our final ball and a lack of a clinical edge is our massive major downfall once again.

OP "Villa are one of only five English clubs to have won the European Cup"

    1. Man Utd
    2. Liverpool
    3. Forest
    4. Villa
    5. Chelsea
    6. Man City
    Are we not counting City?
