Don’t get what’s been pushed in here at all. Why do you all think the onus is on this kid to score goals and not Rashford and Bruno once they have someone running the line and channels for them? If the kid comes in and drags back lines all over the place, enabling the rest of the attack to take up threatening positions, or work their best angles for shots, he will, and should be praised to high heaven.

Everyone knows his story; he isn’t coming here as some hotshot sniper primed for 25 league goals a season, but he can come in and immediately benefit the team if he’s a determined presser, smart mover and enough of a distraction to optimise others - don’t see why the pressure would be on him and not our proven goalscorers to then step up once all in their preferred positions with a decoy to work behind/around. He’s got the potential to be what Saha was to the ‘06 team, not Ruud, so why isn’t it being seen in that manner more than he himself taking on the burden of scoring the goals?

He’s not a patch on Saha in the air or with hold up, but if he can give us the other things Saha provided his teammates, his first season would surely be seen as a resounding success.

Given the absence of any alternative and the crap form of the rest of our front line, we have no choice but to demand an instant massive contribution from the boy.

Whether we see it is another matter. In all likelihood, it will take young Rasmus 2-3 seasons to hit top gear.

From what I've seen of him he should at least out score everyone bar Rashford unless if Bruno is really on fire in the goal scoring. General play is just as important, when you look at his press, size and pace he should cause problems to defenders, this is quite crucial because among our forwards only Rashford and Garnacho have that edge to their game and when you play them together Rashford loses his because he's no 9 and currently Garnacho hasn't started the season well.
Hopefully he gets around 12 league goals. Rashford is the one who should be aiming at 18+ and probably Bruno 10+, the rest I think will score less than 10 almost definitely.

Ah thats a reason, other fans must be so patient with their talents, thats how they dont end up with bunch of deadwood.
Well For starters most of the time their talents don't walk into a shitshow.

Not at all. You can't heap that pressure on.

All we need from him is to be able to fill that number 9 role, work hard, provide some link up play and allow Rashford to go back to left forward. Anything else is a bonus.

There's immense pressure whether we ease him in or not.

Get him in there. Perhaps he can get into the box or win a header or two.

Pretty sure he will outscore the whole forward line this season which is not really a big ask. Just hoping he settles in well.

We'll have to manage his gametime very carefully once he is fit, it could be a career ender if not managed properly

True, all we can do is expect the players to give the most they're capable of giving.

Feck the 20 minutes here, 30 minutes there footballing foreplay rubbish. Just start him and get on with it.

I'm prepared to wait 2-3 seasons for Hojlund to become a reliable 10-15 goal per season striker.
So say after 2 seasons he has 18 goals before having a "big" season of 12 goals in his 3rd season and you'd be happy with that?

How the hell was he playing every game for Atlanta in pre season when he has some problem in his back?

The medical showed an injury that would happen in future I think if he wasn't given rest, it was due to a heavy load of games

Poor kid is being set up to fail which is a common occurrence with this club.

If he doesn’t immediately start scoring goals because our squad is currently incapable of it his own fanbase will be on him, the media will be on him because of his fee, honestly its the reason why players get worst when they join us.

When are we expecting him available? Im assuming this weekend is too early? Arsenal away isnt the best fixture to ease him in.
Probably be Arsenal away when we are 2-0 down with 7 minutes to go.

We finished third last season.
You could finish first and still be one.
It's not outrageous at all to suggest we have been a mess noth internally and on the pitch since 2013 and not exactly the best place for young talent to develop.
We’ve spent 70m on him.
We paid for what he may become not what he is.

He barely got his numbers up to double digits last season, to ask him to immediately have an output similar to haaland is outrageous.

It still baffles me that we paid so much for someone injured, at least get a discount for that .
Flipping heck mate. We’re not buying bruised cucumbers and 3 days old bread with “reduced” price labels on them.

Doesn't that depend upon how much he's rotated? If we get another top class 9 and he shares time equally with him that seems reasonable to me.
We aren’t going to get another top class 9. When we sign a player we don’t sign another player for that position for 5/6 years.

Van De Beek (Bruno), Diallo and Pellistri (Sancho) popped in to say hi.
