Bailly might've just broken the new social media rule of José by posting a clip from the dressing room. :nervous:

Wrong time to reintroduce either Smalling or Jones back into the team. They usually take a few games to get into the groove and are susceptible of making a mistake or two in the first few games they are back.

If they're back then play them against Arsenal

Unfortunately I doubt we are going to get to the finals, the injuries are just too many and still piling up. They will come at us this first match and I would not be shocked to see them score 3.

Weird to say that when we just had three centerbacks plus two midfielders return to training.

Nervous for tomorrow. This is a team who have beaten Barca for three years on the trot and also Madrid this season. From what I've read they like to press high with a lot of energy and intensity, with our squad looking out on their feet I can see this being like a re-run of the league cup final only worse. Saying that I'd take another battering for the same result.

Depends on the outcome of this game, I guess. If we somehow miraculously finish the tie tomorrow, we could take the return leg a bit easy and go for it at Emirates. 3 points there would be golden for keeping that top 4 window open.
In such an outcome,I wouldn't want both Smalling and Jones together for that game.

I'm more confident with our returning players. We'll get to the final.

I can almost guarantee that if we had beaten Swansea people would be optimistic for this game.

Celta are a very good team and mustn't be underestimated but we are favourites for a reason.

Both Jones and Smalling have travelled to Celta, so they're probably in contention.

Okay everything is perfect, we will win 6-0 just like we have proven we do week in and week out. There does that make you happier.
When was the last time we conceded more than 2 goals though? Chelsea like 6 months ago?

You just come across as overly negative for the sake if it

Rashford hasn't travelled (aka. wasn't seen on the plane) according to MEN.

    E: They edited the article.

I'd say they are pretty similar to Swansea playerwise, so we have to play better then against Swansea (or Hull, Boro...) if we wanna get into the final. It's no given in this season, unfortunately. But it would be quite embarrassing if we wouldn't reach the final

It will be interesting to watch this game from the point of view of a PL v La Liga clash. If La Liga is better than the PL, a team like Celta should be considered very strong challengers for the trophy, despite now being firmly in the lower half of the table (due to their strategy for these games, I hasten to add )

In Vigo, they have a clock showing the countdown to the start of the game, as if it was a moon-landing ! They really are out to go though, although this may handicap them to some extent.

Surely Jones and/or Smalling won't be thrown in from the start ? Bailly seems to have a chance of playing according to what I read today, would rather see him and Blind continue at CB if he makes it.

That's my worry, they will approach it as once in a lifetime opportunity and are to make the real World Cup final of it.

Post-Fergie we really struggled badly against fired up teams, especially, away from home. Fair to say I don't think we will have it easy tomorrow.

I read that Celta rested 8 of their players last Sunday!! They are obviously really going for it
Was that the Sid Lowe article in the Guardian? I'm crapping it after reading that. They've basically given up the league several weeks ago and have been resting all their best players for the Europa. Plus they play an aggressive high press and run their legs off. Basically, our kryptonite. The cherry on the shit cake will be an ex-Liverpool player scoring the goals that put us out.

We coped just fine with Liverpool. We will do so in Spain too.

Maybe...but I do think we are going to be run ragged, that is their style and probably with more accomplishment than a Liverpool! Aspas in particular is a player we need to stiffle. I'm sure Mourinho has done massive homework, and it's great that Pogba and Bailly look as though they are available, as well as Mata. But this is going to be a tough tough game, no question.

Don't worry, Eric Bertrand will take care of them. Can't see us conceding 3.

Celta Vigo are in for a surpise. They are expecting a confident attacking team full of swagger who want to win - we're going to rock up and park the bus.

1-0 to united, we'll score on the counter.
