Think he really needs a goal as it seems he's missing confidence in front of goals (which is strange to say about Zlatan).

Worked his bollocks off second half. He's too old to be doing that twice a week but was good to see.

To his credit, he kept going, big contribution towards the goal but alarming how often he gave the ball away cheaply.

Fantastic all action display, been unhappy with him of late, perform like the second half and I'm happy.

If he plays like he did in that second half every game, then I don't care if his goal ratio
than everybody else on the pitch. I would've given it to Herrera but he faded away after Mata was subbed off. Ibra saw us to the end. First man to press, last man to give up, it's quite motivating for those behind him. That's what you need from your striker in situations like that.
dont get man of the match by playing a 3/10 in the first half and 8/10 in the second
Herrera was superb from minute 1

That second half was magnificent, wish we would play him in fewer games so that he can probably do that a bit more.

Some of the passes he played were superb. His defense splitting pass to Rashford early in the game and also one late in the game are the type of passes he can pull off when he has runners.

Night and day halves from Ibra, he put a lot of work in tonight even if all of his ideas didn't come off.

Destroyed Otamendi in the second half. Was it a nutmeg before his pass to Pogba's shot that hit the post? Shrugged him off like he wasn't there for the goal.

Arrrrrrrrgh, it's so frustrating! I know how good he is but he hasn't adjusted yet and i'm certain we'll see a different Zlatan soon enough. This thread needs some positivity now gawd dammit!

Yea, I think he can really excel when he has runners around him once he drops deep. He has really good vision for defense splitting passes even if sometimes those passes don't come off.

Much better 2nd half. Was shocking in the 1st. Really needs a goal though.

Mourinho has to use him better. He's not Crouch where you can just lump balls to him. Can't have him too isolated.

His passing and vision are superb, even has some really exceptionally clever faints and movement, shame he couldnt score, but the man, has heaps of quality

Superb Passing? His distribution was bloody awful in the first half, worse than anything Rooney would produce

He needs a rest. He's actually a very explosive player in some regards, and I think maybe he's conserving energy to last him every game. He shouldn't play every game at his age. Looked a different player in the 2nd half after a terrible 1st

and he should have had two assists in the 2nd, and he also had a great through ball to Rashford in the first. Why even bring up Rooney? It's not even close imo. He always stands up, even when having an off day. It's priceless. If he can just finish off his chances we're golden.

2nd half was the best we have seen from him for me, integrated in the team wise & stuff like that.

Can he maintain it? I say not, I'm afraid.

Even in that awful first half, he produced a fantastic pass to release Rashford, which was better than anything Rooney can do.

Wasnt good alright but you must have noticed the pool we played on? Still, he had that throughball to Rashford which produced a fine chance.

I think Kolorov got a touch on that Rashford cross that just took it away from Zlatans foot.

Played a lot better second half, but of course Kompany went off half time also.

First half was poor. Second half was very strong as target man. Relationship with runners is starting to develop. Was Whoscored.com's MotM by some distance in the end.

It's the next run of games where he will prove his worth. We dropped so many points against the teams near the bottom last season and we would welcome a flat track bully. Burnley can be the start.

When he was surrounded by 4 city players, takes a magical touch and plays through Rash on the right. Not many strikers in the world does that. Same with the through ball to Rashford in the first half. Brilliant

It looks like to me he needs players close and ahead of him. Then he shines.

With better margins, he could've had 4 assists today.

Yeah, unfortunately Rashford was a little out of steam by then, he also ha a great first tough leaving a defender in his dust when he played Pogba clear on goal, the pass there was also perfect, and Pogba really should have buried it

Ridiculously bad first half. Second half was much better.

Zlatan hasnt suddenly forgotten how to play ball, but I hope he can show his class on a more consistent basis.

Right, time for bed me thinks..

Poor first half, good second half. Did well for the goal and played some nice passes to free up others.

He still needs width around him, though. Apart from Rashford, he had no one running off the ball. At PSG, he had Matuidi, Di Maria, Cavani and Moura all bombing on. He's a playmaker striker. He likes to thread balls in to runners, i.e. the one he put in to Rashford. We need more of that.

Has had a shocking October, and one assist tonight does not excuse the utter sh*te served up for several games now.
I accept its hard when a striker is isolated but some of his ball control has been Rooney-esque, he's terrible in the air (rarely wins contested headers), and as for his movement...sweet jesus.

I'd prefer him to be dropped for a few games. It might hopefully wake the beast and then we'll see the best of him.
Even easier decision when we have Rashford fit and raring to go.
