Imagine if all those players actually did perform better than him. We'd be unstoppable.
I think we have to change the way we play when he goes. Jose has to alter his profile of what a striker should be. If we are looking for someone in the Ibra, Costa etc mould, we will get stuck. IMO, the way forward is a floating front three. With the three players sharing the scoring responsibility.I am not sure who is capable of replacing him. The impact. The leadership. The ability to keep scoring goals.
I think Suarez is the only guy who is capable of having the same impact and for him, you'd be looking in the region of £120M+.
Ronaldo could also do it, but I don't know how much he'd cost.
There are other players like Messi or Neymar, but these guys have never been tested in the EPL, which puts question marks over their ability to have instant impact.
Looking at that last thread. Credit to @Successful who lives up to his name
Herrera said of Ibrahimovic to Cadena Ser radio: "He appears at crucial times and we needed him in the 86th minute. He scored the goal that gave us the title.
"I'm asked many times about him, and I don't know what to say anymore. He is 35, he has won things in all the countries he has played in.
"He is competitive, he drills us about winning each game in every training session. He is a winner."
Herrera said without Ibrahimovic's famous character he would not be the same player, adding: "You have to put up with how competitive he is."
But it was a smart move. He realised it would be useless to run all the way, since the other players were faster than him and since it was more than one player against him. Some players would run and then realise that they're out of options, but Ibra made the "evaluation" that it would be better to slow down and involve more of his teammates. Brilliant!I was actually a bit peed off he slowed the attack down and i'm sure plenty along with me
He won't leave as he wouldn't be able to get the wages he can here.
It's not as if he's in need of money to be fair. Retirement could be a slim possibility, but I'd like to think he's still hungry to carry on for a few more seasons.
Retirement? What a waste that would be. He looks like he could play to a high level for many more yearsIf United win another trophy then I can see him leaving, going out on a high and so forth,
Money well spent:
As I remember it, the only one with similar stats to Ibra is Alexis Sanchez, but I don't remember the exact numbers.Created more chances than any other player in our team. Incredible. How do the other golden boot competitors compare in terms of creativity?
Anyone worried he won't be here next season?
I am
With the formation we play, the focal point he is and the number of games/mins he's played, there's been a lot of talk of us being to reliant on him. While to a certain extent this is true I think we have generally created a hatfull of opportunities for him this season. He actually should be around 5-7 goals better off than he is if we're to be ultra critical. His positioning in the box and sense of anticipation has been great but I'd say his finishing has generally been average. Taking away the free kick on Sunday he's hardly created anything out of the blue and so I wouldn't agree he's irreplaceable come next summer. With martial, miki, mata, pogba and potentially griezman next season there's enough creativity in there to feed the main striker a bucket full of goals. He's done remarkably well coming to the premier league and has bought character, a winning mentality and experience to the team, but I wouldn't be too concerned with replacing him as we have improved our attacking and creative output significantly this season.
Is that a deliberately humorous post?He is slowing us down as you obviously can see in that vid, he should also have scored 35ish goals by now, Rashford would have if he'd been our no 1. And hes only 3d in the team in assists, we should have a striker that assists more. Do not keep saying that the rest of the team should start chipping in with goals though, they shouldnt need to because any other striker would have scored atleast 35 goals with the chances we have created, maybe even 40!
Oh.. And if we had a striker with some pace he would have scored 45 by now.. Also, Ibra is like 45 years old he should give someone younger a chance..
...
I think Ibra is waiting for Beckham to get his team in Miami going, then he'll retire from Europe. I do think he will stall to see if CL is guaranteed before signing extension.
Yeah, some will always have a good moan. I remember those who weren't happy with his signing, predicting he'd struggle to score 5 league goals this season! 5!!!His goals are all right but you know he doesnt create something out of the blue.
And what about those sitters... he should have more goals..
Seriously.. Some people..
By reading that, I would think, or well, freaking hope it is!Is that a deliberately humorous post?

Yes, he doesn't need the money so to speak, but with retirement looming there's really no other place for him to go where he can compete in the CL and still get a weekly wage like he does here. I'd imagine the club will bump him up to 300k after this year's performances.
Is that a deliberately humorous post?
I dont know, did he do it away to Stoke on a cold night in January?
Money well spent:
he wants to win the CL and will goto napoli? yeah seems legit
You've got to be in it to win it. Not saying it's true but if he feels he can only have one last top season in Europe then that probably worths a try, it's not like Real or Bayern are going to come calling/

Yeah, Alexis has been carrying Arsenals attack just as much as Zlatan has for us.As I remember it, the only one with similar stats to Ibra is Alexis Sanchez, but I don't remember the exact numbers.
