Who's the lad who once infamously said Zlatan will be lucky to get 7 goals this season?
Wumminator ..... the artist previously known as Twigginator.

See page.5.

There have been a few on this thread who were absolutely desperate for him to fail (an anti-Jose thing maybe) and regardless of what Zlatan has done/does, it won't be good enough.

To be fair to WummTwigg, he never said he thinks he's rubbish or wants him to fail, he just wasn't sure he'd be a great success.

Plus at least he comes back on this thread to say he was mistaken... there are 3 or 4 others who must be kicking their cats every time Zlatan scores and are noticeable by their silence.

He said Rashford was better than Ibra

Ibra is a beast. No other word for it. The guy is probably one of the best ever. Comparison sake, Drogba was 35 I think in 14-15 and he scored 4 goals or so.

I can't remember who said it but I'm sure someone here wanted Ighalo over Zlatan

...

Vardy
Lukaku
Higuain
Milik
Janssen
Ighalo
Gameiro
Slimani
Raffael (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Cavani

I'd rather take a risk on any of these 10 than Ibra - that is how little I think he will contribute to this team.

That list is only of player who I expect to be very attainable. Not to mention 2 option who would fit the bill perfectly - Kane and Aubumeyang. I know they will be almost impossible to get.

In my head, I set a 30 goal target for Ibra when he came here. Looks like he is well on his way of reaching it.

PSG lost AGAIN today and will be way off the pace if Monaco and Nice win their games in hand.

Unreal just how important the big man was in a so called "one team Scotland-esque league"
Yeah I don't think a lot of people appreciated how good he was when we signed him. He was basically to PSG what Ronnie is to Madrid

Totally, so many people failed to realise it was a one team league because of Zlatan!
You have to spare a thought for Di Maria really.

He was probably telling him how hard it was at United to settle etc, then he watches the big man go and get 16 goals before the season is even half way done

It's weird. There's a lot of underlying resentment at him being a legendary figure before even arriving at the club. Then he's also got the Berbatov factor of moving intelligently in a rather languid manner rather than as much as possible. I've been delighted with him though.

To be fair I think a fair bit of the frustration was warranted when he was both on a barren streak where he was missing plenty of chances, and the team as a whole were struggling to score goals. Still, he's come through that superbly and his return can't be argued with thus far. Considering our lack of goals last season he's exactly what we've needed...he's already equaled last seasons top scorer in the league (Martial) before reaching the halfway point, and he'll almost certainly overtake him in all competitions within the next couple of weeks. It's the first time since RVP/Rooney a few years back when we've had a player you can reliably expect to get himself on the scoresheet regularly.

Average rating - 6.1
My average for him on here is 6.5 (tend to be slightly above total average on all so far this year), reason for it being so low is simply that i dont rate every match. Im sure a lot of people dont. For example, i havent been able to see the wba match yet, and the streaming site im paying for takes some time to get the replay up, so i tend to remove rating options before i watch a game, which today brings my average down on Ibra.

Id say dont look too much at the number, but rather how it is compared to players who have played a decent amount of games instead of on the actual scale.

I have 7 as a good day on the job, 6 as average and 5 as slightly under average. Meaning you (or the whole team) needs to stand out for me to likely give an 8 or 9, and 10 is reserved for when i feel like the player had perfect match.
Some might have their base performance on 5. Knee jerkers might only vote 1s when we lose etc. So again, dont look too much at the number, imo.

He puts fear into opposition defenders. And not just the fear of scoring against them, but also the fear of physically dominating them. Defenders don't even try to get into a physical battle with him:lol:

Such is the reverence for the God of Manchester.

He terrifies defences and scores goals like Drogba did, can see why Mourinho wanted him. Shame Fergie didn't try for him eons ago.

What makes his season even more impressive is that we aren't one of the PLs top scoring teams, like Liverpool and City

I can't believe we have finally landed a striker who is not only a target man but also a goalmaker. There isn't a centre back in world football atm who could comfortably control him imo. We deserve him.

His on pitch abilities aside, he is such a big leader. You can see how much respect he commands from everyone - Mourinho and the players literally look up to him.

I'm here to publicly admit I was wrong about Zlatan. Thought he would be lucky to get 15 goals this year. Can you imagine if Rooney had his commitment to fitness?

More important than Zlatans goals: He is a leader. The way he motivated the team the last match after 2-1, made sure they did not lose it to much and focus, and the way he went down to play as almost a holding midfielder, shows what a big affect he has on the team. This is the same type of leadership he took to PSG and made them win 4 seasons in a row. The first season without Zlatan but still with superstars like Cavani and Di maria, they are trailing in 3th place. Another loss today against a team not close to have same quality as PSG. His character, winning-mentality and confidence is extremely valuable to a team like United, who to be honest lacks leadership on the pitch. (Carrick and Rooney is really not that type of character).

Zlatan is a winner and a leader, beside a great goalscorer.

I suspect this is the reason why Mouhrino got him instead of looking for a younger striker. He has worked with Zlatan before and knows what he brings to both the dressing room and to the team. Hes a leader and a great character as well

Everyone talks about how much of a freak of nature Ronaldo is, but i'd say Zlatan is equally, if not more impressive. Playing that much football at that age is just insane for 35 year old, his fitness level is phenomenal

It's a bit crazy how he's only one goal off matching how many goals our top scorer scored last season (Martial with 17)
