2007 I think - Anderson and Hargreaves. Since then we've recruited in every area of the pitch many times over (wingers and strikers particularly) but no new central-midfielders of any type since 2007 - even after the two Barcelona defeats. I've given-up hope of us ever signing a central-midfielder again.

He is out of contract this summer and I believe Milan are letting him go. So he is out of contract and not many top clubs will be willing to take a punt on him due to injuries and poor form in Milan. Is winning trophies the only reason a player should regret leaving?
Slightly annoyed we're not seemingly interested. From what people have said, he seems like the exact kind of player we need in the centre of the park.

There will still be plenty of mid-level clubs willing to throw money at him.
The way I see it, there's really only 3 real seasons to be a footballer
1) Play for your favourite club,
2) Win titles, ideally with the club you support,
3) Money, loads of it.
So if Arsenal isn't the club he supports, I'm sure winning titles and making as much money as possible would be his career goal, which is a shame as a midfield trio of Fabregas, Flamini and Song is probably the best in the league and you guys would probably have won at least a FA cup or two if they had stuck together.
I'm sure question marks about his attitude and discipline are keeping some clubs from going all out for the Frenchman
According to Sports.fr, M'Vila seems to be too expensive for Wenger so he could end up at United.

Would be a perfect addition to our midfield. If he's too expensive for Wenger though then I doubt we can spunk 20m on him if we're after Hazard and Kagawa.
Would be more than happy with Kagawa and M'Vila over just Hazard if pushed to be honest.

I like him for Everton He's just one of those players that you're not sure about until he plays for a big club. I don't know whether he would add anything defensively as opposed to Evra and isn't as technically good on the ball, but his delivery and set piece ability is certainly better than Evra.
True, but for the prices quoted I don't want him. I know with him being english the price is always higher but it seems a waste of money.
If Clyne is coming in I'd like to see him given a go or even Fryers if he doesn't get loaned out. Hopefully if Fabio has a good year out on loan he will come back next season and really challenge for the starting LB spot.

I'd prefer Martinez but M'Vila is a more likely signing and as long as we get 1 of them I'd be very happy.

I hope we sign him... I'm doubtful though, and can't tell if all the Arsenal rumours have any substance or are just hopeful supporters, unlike the Podolski rumours which seemed to have some substance behind them.
