It looks absolutely brilliant. The sheer amount they're showing off here speaks volumes about their confidence too. GOTY potential right here.

Zelda feels unbeatable but I'd give this way more chance now than I would have an hour ago.

Nah I'm all for basic perks that take me 5 seconds to understand and apply than comparing 7 variable stats across 20 different wing underlays and consider how they correlate to my other 18 customisable ship parts.

Yeah we all know you are a basic bitch gamer!

But if this gives us both (eventually) then there's no losers. Well, apart from you for needing the crutch of course...but still.

FOR FECKS SAKE PLEASE BE GOOD!

That looks way better than I expected. If they pull this off it could be a really good game. There's bound to be some interesting bugs for the first few months with the scope if it (and Bethesda)

It probably will.

But I stand by what I say about accepting that considering the ambition on show here

As long as they aren't game breaking of course. Some jank that momentarily breaks immersion or weird glitches because of the huge sandbox potential I'm okay with, but nothing that loses a players progress or stops them completing a mission/side mission.

True

Even series x I'm worried about not having a 60 fps mode.

Series X should eventually reach something resembling 60fps after optimization. Perhaps not at launch. Series S I imagine will be very low resolution and still struggling for 30. We'll see though!

I'm just going to build bases forever and never get to the rest of the game.
I just wish there was online every time with base building games to share spaces/communes with mates. Like Subnautica would be amazing with that.

We can get graphics from linear 10 hour campaign experiences to be fair.

I just want it to look serviceable and have good performance.

There's huge online potential in this. Wonder if they'd ever add it later.

I guess that'd be the benefit of playing on PC. Surely it isn't long until there's a mod that opens it all up to co op.

Nobody was expecting almost half the whole thing to be dedicated to Starfield. The huge focus on gameplay probably played a part in showing a little less gameplay in the first half too.

They promised a deep dive and I'd certainly say they've delivered. It looks great. We'll have to wait and see if they actually deliver with the game itself, Bethesda have not been on a great roll the last decade. But there's enough here to be optimistic.

The video has.

We've all been burnt before.

True! In fairness they did show a lot. More than I even thought they'd reveal. I'm just glad I've actually something to be excited about again from them and we can move past that Fallout 76 garbage. Once this launches I imagine they'll start working on the next Elder Scrolls too at long last.

I'm glad they took note of Flight Sim with all the space aircraft stuff. They might actually ship some systems with this game thanks to that.

Starfield looks like a Bethesda game. And I don’t mean that as a compliment. There games tend to feel a bit hollow and soulless to me personally even if I had a fun with Fallout 3 and Skyrim back in the day.

Hopefully Starfield comes out soon so they can start focusing on TES6

As for acting on the script? Feck me, I'm so glad I never had to do this shite I'd be so awful. The worst I had to do was try to explain to a bunch of Edge dickheads how motion capture works, pretending you believe the words you say for camera is just such a depth I'd honestly jump out of the nearest window

Being on stage is grand but you'd have to be a right narcissistic feck to enjoy being on camera spewing this shite.

Motion capture? I thought you were long retired when that became a thing.

Imagine watching that and thinking it looked hollow
Not about how much you pack in but how good / much fun / full of life that stuff is. Like what was the last really well written Bethesda game? Or even the last one that had excellent gameplay? I hope they have evolved as their recent outings just been like content stuck together with no real soul.

That’s where I don’t have faith in them.

It's the Pirates of Carribbean meme. World's the same mate, there's just less in it.

When Skyrim came out I was floored with how small I was in a massive world. Now you think, the cities are the size of villages.
