I'd trust Bethesda to have mountains of different quests and content. Don't think it'd be really anything like NMS which for all it's updates still ultimately feels like an indie game.

Exactly this.

I think MS and Bethesda are overplaying the whole 1000 planets stuff for the marketing. The core planets and cities will be do dense in comparison.

That's not what I meant, I mean in terms of gameplay too. Skyrim was awful for that, so are the Fallout games post 3.

But I'm buying this day 1, so what do I know

my god the characters look horrible, it's fecking 2023!

They really do!

Ah no it does look really good, hard to know with Bethesda these days if it’ll actually deliver or even be playable at launch but I’m cautiously optimistic. Microsoft really need a win and they’re hedging all bets on this so they must be confident.

I'm cautiously optimistic too. Really Bethesda haven't realeased anything since Fallout 4. Wouldn't really fully judge them on am online experience like 74. We'll see anyway.

Sorry thought you meant the space genre. I agree with you there.

Think the shooting looks pretty decent considering it's not a core fps game and how bad their combat / gun play has been in the past. Think ID Software helped them with that.

Be hard to choose between that and stealth. I like both but probably more optimal to go all in on a style

I really hope you are right there!

Cyberpunk is absolutely shocking as a game on that front, it's really not that hard to get gunplay right. If that bit is fun, they make the space combat deep enough for interest, then the rest will fall into place.

There will be people who nerd out on the ship builder stuff for hundreds of hours. It's the sort of thing I really couldn't give a shit about.

Hoping I can have the most basic ship and its serviceable for the full game with minimal time spent upgrading it.

Ship customisation looks great.

Love all that me. Bring on the base building expansion

The modding potential for this game is going to be mad

Yeah the script has been terrible but I think the actual content has been great

Oh I'm liking this for sure. But with stuff like the perks, if it means feck all ultimately then it's pointless acting like you have some new revolutionary system.

As for acting on the script? Feck me, I'm so glad I never had to do this shite I'd be so awful. The worst I had to do was try to explain to a bunch of Edge dickheads how motion capture works, pretending you believe the words you say for camera is just such a depth I'd honestly jump out of the nearest window

It does what it needs to do I agree. Mass Effect for example doesn't have amazing combat but still does enough for the wider experience. One thing I'd like to see is more Fallout like gore/decapitation. Cause why not.

I'm on team Veeva here.

Let's have a show off sometime!

I spent an embarrassing amount of time on building a base in Subnautica, so I'm all for this.

I'm glad it's there for those who want it. That sort of depth is probably needed to justify all the procedural worlds and resource exploration.

To be fair if the space combat is fun that could pull me in with the ship builder stuff..

I've not actually been fussed about starfield. Which is strange given oblivion is one of my favourite games ever, and Skyrim was brilliant. However this direct has pulled me in. Looks like a lot of fun.

That looks way better than I expected. If they pull this off it could be a really good game. There's bound to be some interesting bugs for the first few months with the scope if it (and Bethesda)

Voice acting is classic rpg tone (or just Skyrim?). They must instruct them to sound like that

I don't like the "rpg" element there though. It's likely a classic case of the perks overpowering everything.

Should be about the ship you build and your skill. But it does look nice!

Nah I'm all for basic perks that take me 5 seconds to understand and apply than comparing 7 variable stats across 20 different wing underlays and consider how they correlate to my other 18 customisable ship parts.
