I would say it has been pretty good, in the sense that there were a lot of interesting games in there. Still too many trailers that don't tell us much though.

Now on to Starfield.

Aside from Forza, the horror thing, and Starfield there was so much stuff in there that intrigues me.

Not going to lie, visually this looks impressive.

Still feels like the sort of game that will bore the tits off me though.

the exploration still looks too No Man's Sky ish to me. Hopefully it has enough actual curated content instead of procedural stuff.

Those environment shadows are baked, not sure what the spiel about weather was about!

But it does look good, if very sluggish, for what the X can do.

They're claiming Global Illumination. If that is true, would that be the first console game with it (no matter how it's implemented)?

If it was made by a much bigger studio I guess.
Ah no it does look really good, hard to know with Bethesda these days if it’ll actually deliver or even be playable at launch but I’m cautiously optimistic. Microsoft really need a win and they’re hedging all bets on this so they must be confident.

I love the setting and want more. But it didn't look any darker or deeper, if anything it looked worse than Infinite on the best possible settings/mods. Let's hope it's worthy though!

I played Infinite on 360 to be fair..

Again, speaking as a long time fan of TES, but what I struggled with in Skyrim was that the NPCs just didn't really feel that distinct and after 20 hours it just felt like a clockwork world. I hope they've worked on that.

God no, loads of console games use it in some manner. Even Fortnite does.

But look at that video and the shadows cast, those are not good examples of it.

That is fair. It's such a shame that game was not what they aimed for, very much like Cyberpunk in terms of just how badly wrong it went. And yet it's such a great experience! (the DLCs are shite though, they ruined Rapture :( )

No Man's Sky is so barebones and basic under the hood. It'll be no comparison when it comes out.

There's a lot of stuff in here. These locations look much more interesting than the generic planet exploration.

Yeah, it's looks exactly like that.

This needs an actual game underneath, as we've played this genre to death now.

I'd trust Bethesda to have mountains of different quests and content. Don't think it'd be really anything like NMS which for all it's updates still ultimately feels like an indie game.
