I think these two Ole Inners both have had too much to drink tonight.
I'm not an Ole inner. At this point if he gets sacked its justified. I hate those negative nancies with agenda trying to assume they were right all along for judging based on presumptions.

City committed men forward cautiously. Their approach although cautious was more positive than ours. Secondly they were playing away.
City were horrendous, we were worse but let's not give any credit to that awful City performance.

People are specifically talking about this game though, as if we were dreadful when we simply weren't.

I can understand why people who want Ole out won't be changing their minds because of this result, I know I certainly won't be, but some of these posts are from people who are so emotionally invested in Ole getting sacked that it's distorting their reality.

We played alright.

No we were terrible, this City side is very beatable if we just decided to press them more. These are 2 points lost, not one gained.

So you agree he should be kicked out but you just don't want to admit some 'negative nancies' called it earlier than you did?

OK.

100%. But what really gets me is that even if they were average, they still had 2-3 clear chances to score and we had the sum of feck all. Maybe that corner and what else?

People going on about us 'controlling the game'. If Mahrez scores that 1v1 instead of taking 5 touches, our tactics fall apart because we couldn't create a chance to save our lives.

Not with the way we are playing. I will eat my hat if we are 4 points off after 30 games, because we have had some amount of luck and moments of brillance that have bailed us out.
Doesn’t matter what any one thinks how we playing. Look at the table and the games played/points. We are in the mix as it stands. I’ll eat my hat if we not in a few games time but right now we are

Of course they were horrendous. The point was the home team has to take the initiative. If we were the ones at the Etihad I don't think people would have had much of a problem. Also who the heck cares about a City team seemingly at the end of their cycle

All the fecking moaners are here again? Cheers. Don't think this is gonna last but seriously.
He has bought us to a level we wouldn't have been under any other manager post SAF. Even if it didn't work out he has done more than LVG, Moyes and Mou.
He hasnt won feck all yet. im sure 2 of the 3 you mentioned did better than that.

The season Mou had style in his game, we finished 6th with EL and LC and I have always said that that was our best season
In terms of league finishes, I don't think Mou's 2nd place finish should be credited to Mou as he was saved by a goalkeeper's shot saving abilities and reflexes. Any other outfield player and I'd have credited Mou with.

And in terms of squad building and the potential of the squad, Ole trumps all of them comprehensively

The thing is, put aside all my other criticisms for a moment, I actually agree he has a very good squad there, not title winning but not as bad as we sometimes make it out to be.

But then my issue is, based on what I have seen to date, I don’t believe he can utilise it to its potential, on a consistent basis. We see glimpses and nothing more. We can credit the purchase of Bruno to him, but to then rely so much on one player delivering the goods is worrying to say the least.

One more thing. We haven't scored from open play (1 pen) in all four of our key PL home games. Why can't people see we're flogging a dead horse?

No, but this is hardly vintage City under Pep either. City hardly created anything and come for a draw. United needs 3 points badly especially after what happen in midweek. A bore first half was acceptable, but continuing that in the second half when he got options on the bench to take the initiative? That's shite mentality

So City are shite now? Pep has been there 5 years, so i guess hes taken them backwards? Is Pep shite?'

City needed 3 points just as much as us. They are still behind us on the table. The reason they hardly created anything was because we had a very, very good defensive display. Structured, disciplined and great individual performances from everyone involved.

Considering we have been leaking like leaking like a sieve so far this year this was very encouraging and will no doubt give our back 5 some much needed confidence.

This board likes Ole and they wont fire him until they absolutely have to.
They couldnt deal with LVG or Mourinho, accomplished football managers and they dont wanna have someone that will rock the boat, ask questions and maybe be difficult like any top manager would be.
Ole's level is Molde, he knows it, everyone knows it and therefore he is perfect, plus he is a club legend too. He is perfect for this commercial club and the vision that the board has.

Exactly.

The level where bottling every semi final we get to is to be cheered 'because at least we got to a semi final'. The level where we cheer a 0-0 home draw against City because we stopped them creating chances. The level where bottling out of a CL group we were comfortably leading is cheered 'because last season we were struggling to beat Astana'. The level where just scraping into the top four every season is to be cheered 'because we're still only at the start of the never-ending rebuild'. The level where 'clear signs of progress' is taking 5 points from a possible 18 at OT, scoring an awe-inspiring ONE GOAL from open play in the process.

And that's because it's a good side with potential, and not ability as of today.

I expect Greenwood and Rashford to be in contention of BdO in a few years, but I can't expect Solskjaer to make them perform as if these are mature players, especially Mason, whose decision making is a bit off.

I don't think it's a bad squad, but we lack leaders and experience - hell it's a younger side than "You won't win anything with kids" side of mid 90s

Yeah that's fake news

Meltdown by some United supporters is hilarious after a draw against ManCity and 4 points from 1st place.

Society is wierd.
We're just capable of looking at context and the whole picture. You keep jumping up and down waving signs that only contain bits and pieces of the whole picture that suit your fading argument though the world needs that too I suppose.

I understand City are not the same team we've witnessed over the last few years. However, they are still one of the best teams in the Premiership and I'm sure every team in the league would take a draw.

For the purpose of “ole out”, some people over here are acting as of City is a weak with a terrible manager.

Part of his job.

Oh please. Don't take out the worst of the lot and assume its the truth. I hate the Cl part and hate how ole fecked it up. It was his fault. But he was also the reason we got 3rd last season (and hence into CL) and also why we have a semi decent squad right now. Its black and white. Not all black.

No. After a run of crappy, dull, disjointed performances I’d have got my players to come out like a steam train, at least in the second half when it was clear Pep was doing the same, sorry and I agree with the below ...

This.

i do understand where you’re coming from and in an ideal world yes, we should have done. My concern in going for it, we’d have had to sacrifice a holding midfielder and that would worry me.

From my perspective going in to the game today, I’d have taken a draw personally.

For the purpose of “ole out”, some people over here are acting as of City is a weak with a terrible manager.

City have been rubbish this season and last one too. You guys are the ones overrating them like hell based on their form from 2 years ago.

They're extremely beatable if you press them more.

TBF, it wasn't a bad performance from a one man club who would be in bottom half of PL with a tactically naive manager against arguably the 2nd best manager in the world right now, and having a superior squad

No we were terrible, this City side is very beatable if we just decided to press them more. These are 2 points lost, not one gained.
Pressing and being more attack-minded could have gone both ways. We'll never know. Take a point and move on!

I don’t it was a good defensive performance from either team, we didn’t attack and City are in decline and made it easy for us. Pep is in uncharted territory now as a manager and it shows.

Next 5 league games might make that look like a better result but Ole’s post match comments show he’s feeling pressure.

That was an opportunity to show the ‘Utd DNA’ rather than name drop it and he bottled it. I still don’t see what Ole offers long term and think we’ve had all positives he can offer, he has to start showing something more pretty soon.
Considering the lack of goal scoring chances for both team it had to be a good defensive performance and/or a terrible offensive one. Of course hes feeling pressure. We just crashed out of the CL so both him and the players were under a lot of pressure right now. Of course i'd prefer we twatted them in spectacular fashion, but i wont really lose any sleep over a draw with City

One more thing. We haven't scored from open play (1 pen) in all four of our key PL home games. Why can't people see we're flogging a dead horse?

Home/away is utterly meaningless right now with no fans in the stadiums. I know our "9 away game winning streak" has been mentioned here numerous times, but its a moot point really. Just as moot as our "terrible home form"

No we were terrible, this City side is very beatable if we just decided to press them more. These are 2 points lost, not one gained.
This. It feels like yet another missed opportunity. You don't get many opportunities to take advantage at this level and as usual we've fluffed it.

And yet it's you throwing insults around and create a fiction in your head in which Ole has done more than LvG or Mou when both of them actually won us trophies
And maybe I'm wrong but I am much more positive than I was under those guys.

The double standards from manager to manager are insane.

If this was Jose or Van Gaal, the criticism would be endless from all sides, including the media. Yet, with Solskjaer, a draw against a dreadful City at home is a good result. All that attacking prowess and we set up not to concede. Last season, we went out to win the derby. Now we're constantly playing not to lose. Against Leipzig, again here the more notable results.

There were times Jose was criticised for winning games, because we were so defensive.

Honestly, hypocrisy is reigning supreme. Hold the same standard to all.

The fact is we've hired four pragmatic managers in a row, and have not learned a damn thing as a club doing it.

Pressing and being more attack-minded could have gone both ways. We'll never know. Take a point and move on!

Really ? So we should never press or attack top teams from now on because it can go both ways and we can lose at the end ?
