Would you be satisfied if we only won the league?

At the start of any season, I crave for the PL. As mentioned several times, everything else is a bonus.

At this moment in time though, even though I'd be "satisfied" with winning the league only, it's disappointing to think that even though we could wrap the title up quite early, we have nothing else to play for. FA Cup would be fantastic. Been a while since we've won the FA Cup, never mind winning the domestic double.

I agree, but there's two massive hurdles in Chelsea and City in the FA Cup which rightly leaves a few fans a little pessimistic. It doesn't get any tougher than that domestically. Moreover, it seems like the loss to the Turkish referee has knocked out some of our steam. Hopefully the international break will work to our advantage this time and the players return fit, fresh and inspired for the league run in and the cup tie at Chelsea.

It'd be nice to get an opportunity at a Wembley revenge against City too.

I'm delighted with the inevitable league title but the prospect of having to go through the entire April and May with virtually nothing to play for is somewhat scary. The excitement of the last couple of weeks of season will be completely gone unless we manage to knock Chelsea out in the FA Cup so I'm looking forward to that game more so than any other game we're going to play until the end of season.

Such a shame we got knocked out of CL as with Real drawing Galatasaray we'd likely go through to the semis so season would last basically until the very end. I hope I'll witness this side make a CL final again - even if we go on to lose it the whole build-up for several weeks before is awesome.

I'd always be happy being the best team in England (Premiership). Winning any cup competition is not really a barometer of being the best. Although it's vital we are successful in Europe for the clubs business model and attracting the best talent.

I'd be happy with the league, but I think so long as the points difference between us and City remains at least 8+ points we should be looking at the Chelsea replay as our biggest game. I hope we put in a truly great performance and get through - it's just been far too long since we last won the FA Cup.

Winning the league would be fantastic but as some have pointed out, as things are April and May look like they're actually going to be quite dull, unless we have a semi final to look forward to, and then hopefully a final.

Having said that though, I'd take the dullest April and May imaginable so long as we still win it, rather than a repeat of the agony of the exciting but truly awful end to last season.

Well, we have a 15-point gap and one game in the league ahead of the Chelsea replay. I'd say 8+ is in the bag! Certainly the Chelsea match is the big one.

For some reason I thought it was further away than that!

The Chelsea game is far and away our biggest game then. I just wish we hadn't been so shit in the 2nd half and let them back in. A semi final to look foward to would make everything so much more interesting.

League is the key, cups are a bonus.

Simple as that.

Really hope we can put Chelsea out though, and are just doing it the classic making it hard for ourselves United way.

It'd be an absolutely do or die semi final against City though, the winners knowing they have a much easier game in the final!

Disappointed in exiting the CL so early but in hindsight was ok with it given our central midfield options.

We can beat Chelsea, and we don't even have to win the game, if being negative. 90 mins, extra time, penalties.

Logic dictates that the team who wins the league are going to be the team to beat within both domestic cups as they're the best team in the country. Now, we all know that's not how cups go but i always think that the team who wins the league should be aiming to win at least one of the other 3 cups or the season would be classed as a disappointment.

I just feel that the team this season is easily capable of that double. It's easy to forget that before the Madrid game we'd been on a run of excellent form for months. Our strikers all shining, Carrick looking better than he ever has before, Vidic bringing solidity back to the defence. That 4-0 win against Norwich was pretty indicative of where we were before going out of Europe.

Ok, we've clearly struggled after that disappointment, with poor performances against Chelsea and Norwich. But if in the middle of a slump we can get a draw against in-form Chelsea and a comfortable league win, then when we get back to the pre-Madrid form, we'll be laughing. It's all a question of whether or not Fergie can get us going again in time for the big matches. The international break might help with that.

agree. Winning the league 'only' is more than enough in any season, its an amazing achievement, especially for those who remember time before 1992/3 and also as SAFs time in charge is coming to and end, and who knows what happens when he goes.

But to win it so early and without the FA cup final to look forward too, would effectively end the season a month early. Nothing really to excite or look forward too. Despite trying, Im sure it would affect the players - how can it not.

However, to have to beat Chelsea and City to just reach the final is exciting. Both games are now HUGE, pivotal and somewhat replace the glamour of the CL. Im looking forward to both these games now more than any league game.

I think SAF should now rotate the team so that he can field his very best team for these games and get everybody into form for them. Its obvious we have gone into a 'dip' since the Madrid defeat. We need to get our rhythm and form ak so we can be ready for Chelsea way from home at our very best.

Winning the champions league is certainly not just a bonus. Professional players dream of winning that more than anything else, as does our manager.

If we only win the league I will be upset. On the other hand we might win it in such a way that it's worth a smile - meaning we will win it by 20points.

Looking at the draw for the cup now you got to say that it's really tough. Go away to Chelsea and then City in Wembley if we win that. The final doesn't look too bad and the winners will surely come from our side of the draw.

All things considered I'll be delighted when the league is wrapped up but I'd just love to get one over on City for revenge in the cup two years ago.

For me it will always be Champions League > League > FA Cup.

The league has to be the priority, for me. I always think there's something hollow about a Champions League success when the team aren't even domestic champions.

It's always the League. Always has been and always will be. Anyone who lived through all or part of the drought through the 70's and 80's will know how it is to be without it. I have a feeling that our younger fans who have only seen a three year drought don't know how bad it is to be also rans and seeing Liverpool and others cleaning up domestically .

If someone offered me a deal that guaranteed United won the League 3-4 times a decade but never won any cups else again I'd snap their hand of.

The League is the big one. Especially for those who live in Manchester, it's a matter of pride. Now that we're ahead of Liverpool, we want to show our complete dominance over them, but winning it back of City, putting them in their place, is the most important thing for me. Apart from the fact that we're the best, it means they're not.

Even though winning the Champions League is probably rarer, and a more special trophy to win, I think the league has to be the number one priority each season. You can't realistically claim to be the 'best' if you manage to win the CL but aren't consistent enough to win your league; just like Chelsea and before them Liverpool.

Regardless, I'd love to see us win a double this season - the cup is certainly going to be tough, and it'll hopefully provide an exciting climax to the season. It would also be great to finally win the FA Cup again, whilst also getting one over on City.

I don't know how anyone can not settle for the league, especially when there are teams like Liverpool who were once used to winning it with similar regularity but would give anything to be on our position.

That'll be a 'no'. Season ending with a damp squib, this time last month we were finely placed in all 3 competitions. Arguably the best squad we've ever had too.

That's it then. Season over. I'm still happy with the title though, would have taken that at the start.

Judging by my disappointment, the answer is a no. Of course I'd have taken it at the start of the season. But seeing where we were a month ago, going out of 2 competitions with the quality of the football getting worse every step of the way is about as bad a scenario as I could've come up with.

I'd definitely be happy with just the league at this stage!

Cups are cups are luck are cups. I'd rather win the league than all of the cups combined, but don't expect everyone to agree.

Have to make sure we beat City and get the league wrapped up soon, will be disappointing to limp over the line now after a great 7 months or so.

Given where we were last month, there's bound to be dissapointment but the League is always the number one goal and that should be ours within the next few games. Beat City in the derby next week, completing the double over them and I for one will be delighted.

Disappointed we could not add a cup, but if at the beginning of the season you offered me only the PL title I would definitely have taken that.

It is disappointing to go out of the 2 cups the way we have but I think SAF's main priority was ensuring we won the title and we should do that unless we implode.

We've got city, Arsenal and Chelsea to play in the league, if we play well and win these games the satisfaction will be back. This is why it's a mistake to fall into the 'treble' talk, cos you just set yourself up for a fail.

Losing to City next week and crawling over the line would be disappointing.

I would have happily taken "just" the title at the start of the season but the only annoying this is if we beat or even draw to City on Monday our season is over with still over a month of the season left to play. Summer transfer threads could be up and running very quickly this year...

It would certainly be a great feeling to get it back from City. Bit of a shit timing though to be talking about it after the last weeks.

At the end of the season there'll still be a feeling of 'what might have been'.

Will there? Only if your expectations are that we clean up in every competition. I had that feeling last season but not this

Mine are to compete in everything and with a bit of fortune and good play we win one...anything else is a bonus.
