Would you be satisfied if we only won the league?

I'm very happy with the season, the CL was disappointing but largely due to terrible refereeing against one of the favourites who we largely outplayed, I don't care about the league cup. The FA Cup is the only one that annoys me really, we were just really shit against Chelsea for 135 out of 180 minutes.
Agree with this, very annoying to feck up a sitter against Chelsea at home. The way we went against Real is just too surreal to even start thinking about, such a freak case, may the ref rot. I do believe we had a good chance of nailing a treble this season, but I am of course happy if we bag the PL title this year - a win against City on Monday should do it. The PL is always the top priority, especially these days when you're competing against a couple of artificially fed atomic chickens represented by City and Chelsea.

I go with this. Sums up my feelings about spot on. IF we were to win the league with a records points total though, that would defo mellow my mood a great deal more as well.

This got lost in another thread but I think it belongs in here.

Most of the disappointment in the season as a whole stems from the overly high expectations generally coming from the media and some of us were a bit guilty too. Just over a month ago all the media were going on about was the treble - sky were interviewing the treble winning strikers comparing them to the striking quartet of today etc. then when that was off it was the double. Then when that was off we were going to break points records and most win records and fewest draws/losses records and the rest. On here we were talking about playing our youth players when we wrapped it up with x-amount of games to spare. We got ahead of ourselves and its all unravelled a bit so now it feels worse than it really is.

It hasn't panned out that way and its brought us, and the media back down to earth a bit. The season is going to end up feeling like a disappointment because in a very short space of time one by one those expectations have been chalked off. Most of us after last season would have snatched hands off if we were offered 'just' the league title back. Winning the PL should never be a disappointment (even if we haven't played swashbuckling football all season), but even more so after last season. It's not all doom and gloom were still on track to get our trophy back. We need to get behind SAF and the lads and I hope the meda does too because creating an air of negativity will only make the task at hand harder. 12 points clear. Barring a major balls up we should be able to see it through.

I will not be satisfied as it currently stands as we were knocked out of the champions league due to a bad refereeing decision and we blew a 2-0 lead in the FA Cup. Having been in positions where we could have gone on and possibly been in contention for both of these trophies, it is natural to feel disappointed with just the league. My only wish is which I say every season is to learn and move on and that means buying a bloody MIDFIELDER!

Being disappointed and unsatisfied are different though.

Anyone would feel disappointment after a loss whether you are United or Burton Albion.

Being unsatisfied though is more something which shows a lack of respect. Like a rich kid who doesn't get enough toys.

I suspect the majority of what people are calling unsatisfied is more just disappointment, that fades in time when you realise you have still won the biggest prize an English club can.

This.

I will be disappointed, especially with the manner of the Madrid defeat. We didn't deserve that. We deserved to lose in the FA cup.

I will be disappointed but any season where we win the league is satisfactory.

Agreeing with a chelsea fan. :nervous:
