If it really needs to be explained why crazy women is offensive then you should actually try talking to one while I lie down.
How should I have phrased it to not offend you? Mentally deranged women? I honestly have no idea what this year's politically correct term for crazy is, sorry.

Anyway, if that really offends you, I'm lost for words.

just don't say it because it's horrible and stupid

mentally deranged is the same thing

also don't call them: retarded, whores, hysterical etc.

if you really think that there are vast numbers of false rape cases: look it up, there aren't

That's where we disagree. On top of that, people who make false accusations get away scot-free, which is also in itself worrying as we'll only see more and more of them appear.

Do you have any sources which indicate a significant number of women go to the police and make false rape claims?

Odd how this story isn't getting more coverage. He's ostensibly the world's most famous athlete and probably in the top 5 most famous people alive today, and yet the coverage has fairly muted.
It'll be down to 2 factors, I suspect. The ongoing confidentiality agreement and the issue of the 'stolen' email 'confession'. It's a minefield.

Portugal is a small sample (11 million people) but a recent article revealed that around 40% of sexual assault claims are false. However, they are almost exclusively situations where there was a dispute during divorces or for custody of children.

Cases like this, where people meet in bars or something, it was like 2 or 3 cases of false rape claims in the last 5 years. In other words, it's almost a unicorn. I suspect the numbers are similar in other countries.

Jesus, some of this is truly dark reading. On 38/39 at the moment...
There's degrees to rape and this is pretty bad if as stated. Not exactly any blurred lines here or vanilla sex regretted half-way through. It's sodomy with the victim repeatedly making it clear that she didn't want it before the rape even developed, and the rapist later admitting that she was refusing all the while.

That said there's plenty of reasons for rich, successful people to pay off false claims from people, when they have a lot to lose and it won't cost much to make them go away.

We sold him to Madrid on June 11th. The incident happened on June 12th..
He was at Madrid for 9 years and it has come out when he left Madrid.

Don Perez was keeping a lid on things.

Is it being denied or Ronaldo saying it was consensual?

Given how much pride he takes in his body, from the report, am finding it a little hard to believe him having unprotected anal sex with someone he just met

On a side note, i just found out Sodomised and Sodomising are two different things.. *clears search history*

That same narcissism could also be why he allegedly refused to take no for an answer.

And don't we unfortunately in the iberian peninsula know this. I've followed that gang rape case in Madrid and how justice reacted to it. Here in Portugal a couple of guys were released after raping a passed-out woman because apparently she flirted with them before.

These outrageous reactions we see in messageboards or newspaper comment sections are shared by a lot of judges. Sickening.

I hope this case is a misunderstanding, I think it would hurt the soul of our country if we found Ronaldo is a rapist.

UNforuntately is not only the Iberian peninsule The gangrape was outrageous. I wonder as well, how 3 MAN of 50-60 years old MAN can decide if a 18 years old girl is having fun or is being rape in a video with 5 guys at a time. Because one of the 3 judges said to her, that "it didn't look painful" to him. They didn't even get the decency to put 1 of the 3 judges a women? Till which point they can relate?

Will need so many generations till a woman can feel safe anytime anywhere

FFS Ronaldo's lawyers are not even denying it saying its "illegal" for der speigel to publish such a private story about him. I'm reeling here tbf, could not believe that Ronaldo would do such a thing.

I'm always shocked that other people are shocked. Just like with the likes of Spacey, Cosby etc. Maybe I'm just too cynical but I always expect every person to be flawed. Sometimes it's not as obvious though.

I wonder if we passed on signing him because of this. If this case gets some legs and credibility in the eyes of the public at large having him at United would have been a disaster.

Not sure if serious....

These cases are always rather hard to me. On the one hand, if there's smoke, there's probably fire. On the other hand, I'm sure there's people in the world willing to wrongly accuse someone for money and / or fame. If it's the latter, the punishment should be severe.

She got 375.000 dollaroos. Why rattle the cage?

I'm gutted cz its Ronaldo and i'm a United fan the guy was a club hero and even though I soured on him for the way he left I never imagined him out of all player would act this way. Perhaps i'm too naive or perhaps this is the first case in which the accused was someone that matter to me.

is this in any way similar to the Kobe Bryant case?

I didn’t pay attention to it and only know little bits but Wasn’t he guilty of rape and managed to get off.

I always liked Ronaldo, shame if true.

Yes, it's not so much this particular case, but in general. I'm quite positive that these multimilionaire celebrities have absolutely no clue about boundaries and the word no, but I'm sure some of the accusations maybe falls, and apart from public scrutiny there's no real penalty for falsely accusing someone is there?

I think it comes down to the idea that there are two issues involved. The one most of us care about - is he guilty of rape? The other one is whether his lawyers bullied a woman into an out of court settlement?

They are effectively refusing to comment on either because they want to counter-claim that none of this stuff is legitimately in the public domain, because it relies on stolen emails. I think it's typical lawyer stuff, they won't comment on the actual case, until there is a case. I suspect they've told Ronaldo the same thing.

Didn’t Ronaldo do a Insta story where he said the story was fake?

That's probably the only kind of statement he'll make. I doubt if he'll respond to questions like "what about the questionnaire?" or "why did you pay? or "why did you let your lawyers do these things in your name?" "if your lawyers did do that, were they acting badly?" etc - once that kind of dialogue opens, it's hard to stop.

"Fake news" he said apparently. The massive bellend. Quite obvious what audience he's appearing to with that soundbite.

To be fair the term «fake news» has become pretty mainstream these days. I don’t think using that is indicative of much other than that he wants to express that the story is fake.

Yeah, agree about that.

Yeah and I hate that it's become mainstream like that's an acceptable rebuttal to anything. This era's version of "It wasn't me".
