10m for an English player isnt much of a gamble.
Jarvis cost West Ham over 10m after Wolves were relegated.

Unless he is an absolute disaster, we'll get most if not all our money back in the future..

And a lot of people seem to rate him very highly. He'll probably do pretty well for us.

10m (potentially rising to 15m) is pretty expensive for a Championship player, and we have the numbers of English players so I don't see the need of signing English players just for the sake of it. If we can sign better players from outside with those money then why not.

For rating him highly by some people, I just don't buy it. The same happened with Ince some months ago when we were interested on him. Some people jumped and you would have thought that he is Ronaldinho reincarnated, well now that we are not interested he is obviously shit.

Saying all that, I haven't seen much of him, so I don't know what will become of him. Hopefully he will turn a good signing whihc is very likely considering that we have scouted him for some time. Anyway, him replacing Nani doesn't sound appealing to me and most likely is not the case. If Nani will go in summer I would like to replace him with someone like Gotze/Rodriguez/Isco/Muniain (not because they are not English and have better names, we all know that that is bullshit but because they are very good players). Anyway, I don't think that we will lose anything at all from this signing (cause we can sell him for some money in the future) while there is always the possibility of getting a bargain like in Chicha/Smalling case. So, hopefully the deal will agree soon.

Is he any better compare to Sterling?

You'd have to put Sterling above him based on the fact that he's played in the PL and done very well but truthfully there seems to be very little people who have watched Zaha enough to give a good assessment of what level he's at. We'll find out when he makes the step-up to the PL but he's apparently stood out in the championship and if he can carry it over when playing for us then we should have a very promising player on our hands.

We couldn't afford the likes of Götze and Rodriguez, or could but wouldn't pay the price Borussia and Porto are going to ask for. Besides, in Götze's case it'd be virtually impossible to buy him as he's very likely to stay at Dortmund for much longer.

Zaha is a completely different type of signing. He's going to cost much less long term, fee and wages included, than any of them. Fee is just one of the factors, in an era when players earn £100k+ a week on a regular basis it tends to contribute less to a transfer cost than wages do.

It's is unbelievable how much bullshit these papers and their writers spout.

Apparently, we are pushing for the deal because Young is out for a month with a knee injury and we are short of numbers on the wings. But, we'll also let him stay at Palace for the rest of the season..

What????

The same article also talks about how Young didn't travel to Qatar yet the picture the article uses is one of him in Qatar.

Is he any better compare to Sterling?

There's less pressure of Sterling because Liverpool are improving but won't win anything soon. So the focus is off and he can do 'decent' without hitting the heights he did in the reserves but you know what they say, it's a lot easier playing with better players :P

Either way Zaha? No idea. If he has the right attitude to apply himself then why not? A move like this could easily improve a players performance. It's why background is so important to Sir Alex - more so when they're young and not fully mature

Is he any better compare to Sterling?

No imo. From what I've seen Sterling has a much better idea about what to do with the ball. Zaha is a dribbling specialist, whereas Sterling is a dribbler with a mature idea of the passing game. He has also been Liverpool's 5th best player this season, even though he's hit a bit of a slump in recent months. Zaha? We dont even know if he's ready for the premier league let alone ready to be one of the best players at a top 8 club.

Give him to us baby,
Zaha Zaha,
Give him to us baby,
Zaha Zaha
And all the caftards say he's overpriced, for a Champ buy.

Now I'll have to start watching the Championship on streams. Bugger.

The rumour about Powell going to them as well, what happened to that?

£15 million :wenger:

How much would Sterling as the younger and better player cost? £30 million?

Overpaid but I imagine that was due to other clubs showing interest.

That's not true. If we sell Nani then we get some cash from him while we are also pretty rich. Also with him, Scholes and possibly Fletcher and Giggs all going out of the wage list, paying good wages to the new signing wouldn't be a problem at all.

Anyway, another thread. Let's see what will become of Zaha.

Instead we have Nani + Zaha. What if Goetze didnt adapt to England? And what if Rodriguez wasnt what you had seen in youtube videos?

I'm pleased with the deal - money aside the kid is definitely talented and the sky is the limit.

He has the raw technique that somebody like bebe lacks, but has the physique to develop.

Thjnk he could go on and be a big player in the future.

But he has a better name and is not English so he's a God. And I have seen a little more than in youtube.

Seriously speaking, I would love much more to have Nani + Zaha then anyone of those players I mentioned. Just gave my opinion what would I like for United to sign if we sell Nani.

If they get Powell too then I'll have to watch all their games this season..

Already do for Keane, and then Petrucci. Now add one more in.

All matches are not televised and thus streamed though. :(

There is Henriquez and Fabio in prem too.

It's £10mil rising to £15mil. You'd imagine the only way it would reach the higher figure would be if he was a success, meaning it will have been money well spent.

Shame we aren't keeping him here to be honest. Young is out for up to 6 weeks, Valencia is out of form and god knows what's happening with Nani.

We probably over paid by a few million and im still cautious about this deal because he's been in poor form lately but he's obviously got some potential let's hope we can get the best out of him.

And if he's not a success?

Then we sell him on for 5/6 million or even more after paying 10 to 11/12 million. Sturridge went for 12 million despite not really being a success at Chelsea.

Looks a promising signing. United should have four quality wingers, and right now we only have three and they aren't really firing on all cylinders either. We have much greater depth in CM!
