Money well spent by sunak for extra border protection at France's border...

As well as the £200+ millions paid up front to Rwanda.
And remember. All this money was supposed to result in breaking the people traffickers business model.

There's going to be an unusual amount of penis-related talk on primetime TV as the election gets nearer.

It’s still a healthy lead but I don’t yet have any real motivation for voting Labour other than it’s a 2 party system and I loathe the current incarnation of the Tory party. I suspect many voters feel the same. In the lead up to 1997, by contrast, there was genuine enthusiasm for what Blair and Brown were offering, even if we ended up with a bloodbath in Iraq instead of the new Jerusalem.

If you’re undecided in April 2023 , then there’s something wrong with you.

Keir seems to be banking on the ‘anyone but Tories’ idea that seems to be in the public consciousness. It’s a very risky strategy.

What would be the best for the country is if he presented a refreshing, clear and achievable idea on why and how he could improve on the current state, which should one of the easiest things to do considering how shambolic the Tories, especially in the last 2-3 years.

The fact that we’re struggling to see that isn’t a good look for him (but he still has my vote).

I agree with this and Labour’s current strategy of “we’ll do what the Tory’s are doing, just far more competently” is jarring.

But I think/assume/hope they’re waiting to get as close to the general election as possible before dropping a fleshed out manifesto so that the Tory’s have the least amount of time to counter but also giving enough time for Labour to sell it to the public. I think post conference later this year will see the manifesto launched in some shape or form.

Or they literally have no ideas and nothing will change between now and the GE in a year’s time. Could also be that.

"It might look like we've been in power for thirteen years but it's actually been the socialists this entire time, because they've stopped us doing what we really wanted to do which would have totally been better! Only a vote for the Conservative party can change that this election!"

Idiot who has a Dave tattoo - "Yeah! These geezers are the ones for me!"

Why is she elite?
Depends on your definition of elite I guess, but she is an MP, former long-term high profile government minister and TV personality of sorts. That's pretty elite in terms of profile, reach and influence.

My question was genuine as i read a brief biography that she comes from working class worked in NGOs wnvironments and she went up to the ranks. She became elite because she is in politics? Or is not liked because she is tory? I dont know her at all. Thats why i ask. It might not be liked because is not from the politcal spectrum that you like (not particularly you i mean) but IMO elite is something else

I know what you mean. She's fairly dim and has more been a useful idiot to the likes of Johnson, who she was fiercely loyal to.
It's debatable how much influence she had, although she nearly sold off (and probably destroyed) Channel 4, one of the very few TV stations which has consistently criticised the government over its record.
She's certainly not conventional elite, ie Etonian, moneyed background etc...more a Lee Anderson-style working class right winger they can dangle in front of the masses.

Can’t afford £1000 rent but I am all of a sudden able to afford it when it is frozen at that. Great solution, why did no one think of it before!

Won't somebody please think of the landlords. :(

don't think about more supply and prioritise density of supply.....just keep subsidising demand!! fecking morons.

But we all know why supply is never taken up as the major priority issue... NIMBY's worrying about foreigners coming into the neighbour and "disturbing the tranquility", and home-owners that are desperate to justify their unsustainable mortages based solely on ludicrous house price increases.

What policy?

that's basically my point. If the question was stupid, i sympathise. Obviously no opposition can have policy enacted "overnight' to fix the mess you lot are in. However that is usually the opportunity to pivot the actual policy, which was completely missed as UK labour are playing so "small target" that they are missing every golden opportunity.
