Westminster Politics

In terms of the wider public, he is currently the most popular Conservative politician.

However it has been on a continuous decline since the summer. A lot of his popularity was due to him giving stuff away during the height of the pandemic.
Wasnt he Best Man at Allegra Strattons wedding...

Hummm... this scandal breaking whilst hes still in poll position ... isn't that convenient for him

(personally id never bet against goves ability to slime his way into a position to stab somebody n the back though)

Yep he was, and funnily enough this story is 12 months old - why hasn't it been reported until now? Sunak has very deep pockets for a politician and it wouldn't surprise me that he's buying some opportunities during this time.

That Jacob Rees-Mogg clip is awful, reprehensible stuff. Just openly mocking the regulations that many people obeyed while people in the audience condescendingly chuckle.

There's no army of bots than can bury this stuff. It's sickening.

He is a smug cnut of the highest order.

Neck like a jockeys bollox.

But he along with his mates will get away with it wont they

He's a detestable man anyway. I didn't this video to point that out to me but hopefully some of his supporters will think again if they see it.
His supporters are the ones at the party. Any other supporters he has are the type who think Mogg speaks for them when in reality they are galaxies apart

It blows my mind that 28k people from the constituency next to mine voted for him. I’d actually considering moving house if I lived there, I’d find it completely embarrassing to live in an area represented by him.

Shambolic, unable to confirm if person chosen to investigate whether the party happened actually attended the party :wenger:

Edit:

And how can they possibly make this any worse..... oh....

I am baffled there is even 1 person on the planet that believes him. You can tell even he doesn't believe his own words
It's important to remember there's a significant amount of people willing to lie on surveys. I know as one of them.

To be fair, I should know that as I work on research but still

They only resign when there's video evidence.

We need cameras broadcasting 24/7 all over downing street. Big brother style with phone votes every week.

It would be much less embarassing than this pantomime.

I see Boris has made a scapegoat resign again, instead of taking responsibility himself. Still, I’m sure it will all blow over like it always does.

We do have a better idea and understanding of what we need, what we don't know is to what degree. We don't need a full on lockdown like last year (which is what I mean by restriction), that much is obvious as the comparison of hospitalisations compared to last year show quite clearly. However let's face it, the logic isn't there, as we some think covid is only prevalent in shops and not in pubs and change their behaviour between the two settings accordingly.
Sorry…but no we don’t. Hospitalisations being lower now compared to last year and the modelling based on that data isn’t of relevance as they relate to Delta which within 2-3 weeks is going to be replaced as the dominant strain. We’re about to have a wave involving a new variant which almost certainly spreads far quicker in unvaccinated, previously infected and fully vaccinated people compared to Delta which inevitably will result in more hospitalisations amongst that group in a shorter time period unless the severity profile of the disease has changed. Until we know how fast it spreads, the likelihood of hospitalisation in the unvaccinated, previously infected, the fully vaccinated and booster vaccinated, the level of care they need and their average LOS we simply don’t know what levels of restrictions are needed - there are a shed ton of variables at play and they need time to review the data.

On Boris - I’m in the camp he’s a colossal cnut but likely better than 90% of other Tory alternatives…they could undoubtedly veer more to the right and who would we get to replace him? He’s surely preferable than Steve Baker et al? Or Michael Gove! Christ…I’m getting Ole in deja vu here:lol:

Like you, I still don't see this bringing him down.

The Tory Party are more likely to replace him over Covid passes rather than, you know, all the actually bad stuff.

Liz Truss is current favourite for next party leader, I believe.
