If they're going through the courts it's already been investigated though. Police don't really have the resources to investigate this sort of crime due to the years of austerity we have had.

From my understanding of this my partner who is Mauritian / English, born in London, could be stripped of her citizenship because she can apply for Mauritian nationality?

Yup. If she has 'reasonable grounds' to believe a person is able to become a national of another nation under its laws.
