Westminster Politics

He just implied the supreme court ruling was political maneuvering. My word

Yeah, this is disgraceful.

Might not go down as the worst PM, but surely has to be among the most dangerous.

Yeh, until Boris arrived they were being very respectful to each other. They haven't spent the entire day tearing into each other. Just getting the hard work done.
I wasn't referring to the MPs exchanges. But to Boris trying to turn a supreme court ruling against him into an alleged anti Brexit attempt. Further division and lies from the Tories. No acceptance that his action were illegal.

Dangerous and inaccurate stance from Johnson.

Attacking and implying the supreme court is biased is just so disgraceful and yet sadly not at all surprising from this mob.

Election time.

Ones far more realistic than the other here.
Any PM who has just been proven to have broken the law should have the good grace to resign. Instead he trys to drag the country down with him. More dangerous lies trying to blame parliament for his ineptitude.

"Apparent dictator" quite clearly only wants to call an election so he can dissolve parliament over October 31st and see us fall out of the EU without him being held accountable for the lack of deal.

You know this, but are being deliberately obtuse.

There’s no point in rising to it. A very poor WUM at this point.

Thanks for saving me the effort of thinking for myself. Appreciated.

Yes, I have seen that every single poster, even those that disagree on some points but agree on others are referred to as WUMs and other insults by a number of posters here. Mob rule basically.

Honestly, I think you get the subtleties of this matter and you're choosing to ....ah, what's the point? Your partizan pedantry is immutable.

Partizan....

Come on. While the labour and lib dem supporters here tear each other apart daily I have repeatedly said that all the MPs are a joke. Unfit for purpose.

Commenting against the hyperbole posted towards the Tory's doesn't mean I think very highly of them.

Is there any reason why he’s allowed to continually call it the ‘surrender act’? Normally pulled up for shite like that.

Seriously? You don't acknowledge that you are, at best, pedantic and obtuse on occasion? It's pretty consistent. You literally got thread banned yesterday for it. You think this is everyone else's fault? That you are a persecuted free thinker telling it straight?
You're clever. I get that. Discuss, debate but, please, drop the sixth form debating tactics. It'd be nice if the front bench of the Govt might do the same at some point.

Yes, partizan. I stand by the claim. Shall we set up a thread rather than ruin this one further where I can show the evidence and you can tangentially chunter pedantically in the face of it?

I may be pedantic at times. We all are on occasion.

There is clearly an element though that would prefer an echo chamber. I don't get that. Talking politics with those that agree with you is boring.

That said, I will make a better effort to be less pedantic.

I would much rather discuss the debate occuring right now.

Good. It can be an echo chamber in here and you have good points to make contrary to the prevalent opinion here. I, for one, welcome that. Your points are not helped though by pretending you don't get Blackford's point about dictatorship (a direct reference to unlawful proroguement to stymie Parliament) nor Johnson's campaign mode response.
The standing Government attempted to remove parliamentary scrutiny at possibly the most critical post WWII moment. Their response is to shrug and carry on. It is unsurprising that this is unpopular in Parliament and Blackford's point is clear both in meaning and motivation.

 Yeah, the Caf is such a leftist echo chamber that the Corbyn thread is bloody unbearable for leftists.

I don't find the Caf to be particularly left wing but I am aware that in parts of the country (and World) my politics would be seen as Bolshevik. I know no-one who voted leave and I do like to see views from the other side even if I rarely see any points that I agree with. I think this thread is overwhelmingly remain in general and, in a sense, is an echo chamber (although this is not an expression I like).
