Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora

I don't think it was fake at all, nor were Chisora's slap and spitting incident. These people just don't like each other and it shows.

It's boxing. 9 times out of 10 this is fake.

It doesn't need to be proof to the contrary since there's no evidence that any of it was fake in the first place.

*David Hayes comes to talk to SSN in Munich airport*

Haye "All fake, made up to sell a fight Jim, we don't really have have beef....wait what am I doing....I've just lost basically like 80% of the PPV buyers....thanks Jim"

Umm yeah. The evidence is that they are boxers and their job is to sell their fight, their earnings are hugely tied to PPV and sales revenues. Manny is pretty much the only guy who don't go crazy to sell his fight and that's why despite his fights being better....Floyd still outsells him.

Surprised no one posted this!

Boxers routinely heckle press conferences to promote their own fights. That however, doesn't mean its fake. The entire thing was started by a relatively innocuous question from a German journalist to Vitaly's manager, about why British fighters are so unstable. Haye only got involved after the manager started slating him and his toe. So rather than fabricate some ridiculous theory that its fake, why not just admit that it was a legitimate disagreement that spiralled out of control because of what was said and who was in the room at the time. Sometimes an argument that turns into a fight is just an argument that turns into a fight.

All scripted, as if Warren really let Chisora walk straight past him and confront Haye.

That disgraceful twat Chisora thinks he's Clubber Lang - absolute disgrace of a person. Tacky trash-talking - slapping the champ who gave him a pay-day when he's a no-body - spitting in the face of another human-being - going ape-shit looking for a scrap & then threatening to shoot someone. Throw that cnut in the clink!

Haye's an asshole aswell btw. They're both useless boxers with an ego that far exceeds their "talents" & this crap with Haye gate-crashing for a fight & the spotlight makes me sick.

High-profile boxing in many respects has become a soap opera & its fecking sickening - same as our beloved Football too. So much for idols in sport - i'm out!

So without this, or even the slap.....this thread would be 4 pages? No it'd barely be 4 posts. Theres no ridiculous theories, theres just a boxing fan and common sense.

If it's real, it's real, but unlikely we'll ever know unless well Chisora actually shoots him or something equally daft. Just deal with the possibility of it being fake, and more likely to be, they'd both be no names and earning nothing for the rest of their careers otherwise.

If it isn't staged (and I reckon it is) then Haye really comes across as the bell end in it all. Chisora in the aftermath shouldn't of said what he did but people do just get carried away in the heat of the moment, he's clearly a bit of a cnut but at the same time he's not done much wrong here.

It is probably all talk in order to sell a fight which otherwise no one would be arsed about. Two people who comfortably lost fights in order to get a rematch to lose another fight isn't really interesting, this kind of stuff sells a fight and it sells it well.

Does anyone know Adam BOoth's problem with Vitali's manager by the way? Seemed a bit of a random outburst calling him an embarrassment considering them lot were all just sat there and his fighter was in the middle of bottling people.

I can't see Haye getting a fight against Vitaly after just having been embarrassed by Wlad a few months back. Obviously, he's trying to get a decent fight before his self-imposed retirement deadline, but that wasn't the way to go about it. His idiocy actually appears to have left spectators mildly empathetic to Chisora, after he fought a decent fight and then got glassed after.

Sounds more like WWF or whatever acronym they're using nowadays.

Haye has already retired on his self-imposed retirement date....and despite promising his mum, has decided to come out anyway. More down to the selling himself more with the "coming out of retirement" angle for some odd reason promoters seem to think is a good idea when everyone knows they'll do it anyway.

How does that tell you this is not fake exactly?

Haye: Lets hype this fight
Chisora: Yeah, but I want to go out of character and not get in any trouble for it.

It might not be fake, but him getting questioned(possibly not even for this considering Haye isn't) isn't proof to the contrary.

Boxers are the biggest salesmen in sports, so don't underestimate how far they'd go to sell a fight. Tyson did FAR worse than this to sell his and he was mostly in sales mode.

LOL

If you think that the fight last night was fake then good luck to you. German police have questioned both fighters. Bonte had tried to have Haye removed from the building before the press conference anyway not exactly something that you are going to do if you want to stage a 'show' afterwards.

You think that Chisora would chance eating a full blooded bare knuckle right from David Haye? That shot would put most people to sleep.

There is a lot of salesmanship in boxing like when Chisora spat in Wlad's face last night but that fight was real.

To the poster saying 'R.I.P boxing' Chisora - Haye is all over the front pages of every newspaper today. Their fight will do bigger numbers than any UFC fight has ever done in the UK. There isn't even a single UFC fighter that is a mainstream name in the UK. Boxing is still the premier combat sport on these shores.

I can't see how you can really think that was staged. Boxing is all about promoting your fight and angle but that wasn't fake at all. Do you think they would agree for Haye to risk punching him with a glass bottle in the same hand?

Again, seeing things how they WANT you to see it. But this is a pointless argument.....I can accept if it was real, its just most likely staged, as much worse as been done to market a fight....you guys are 100% behind it being real, it's as if this is the first very early build up to a fight you've seen.

It'd be even more insane if Britain fell for it again, yes he'll put up a better offer than Fraudley did, but it's still not much of a fight, Haye will win, easily, even if Chisora looked mildly better vs a Klit.

What I want to know is why Frank Warren just sat there. He knows Chisora is a volatile character and he just let Chisora walk past him. I think the situation went above what the promoters wanted but it's clear they wanted a Haye/Chisora fight.

I don't think so. It seems like the most extravagant and elaborate staged event ever then for all that to have happened. And Booth getting bottled in the head, that was anticipated?

A well choreographed maneuver. They must have spent weeks practicing everything that happened last night.

Basically an easy win vs Chisora gives Haye a bigger payday vs Vitali than what was offered.....probably saying "I ko'd him, you couldn't do that bla bla".

Another £15m for Haye, like I said, guys a genius for not being that great of a boxer and in the worst HW era of all-time, yet will still come out very rich and set for life since he's actually quite smart with his money unlike most other boxers.

If he goes straight to Vitali now, it's probably a £10m fight at most, 7m to Klit 3m to Haye, he ko's Chisora(where he'll earn a solid £5m in a far higher split than Chisora)....the Klit fight probably doubles. Boxing promoters aren't stupid, and Haye is his own promoter, so gets almost all of his earned money.

No, I'm convinced it's real because it looks real, not because I haven't seen build ups before.

It doesn't look real though does it? Haye has a bottle in his hand and punches while clasping it?

Now we just need a youtube clip showing how hidden ketchup packets resulted in the blood on Haye's manager's face.

Anyway, job done, people are now interested in the Haye-Chisora match.

Doesn't exactly take great acting chops to make that look real....Mike Tyson did it all the time but can't act for shit.
