Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora

I'm not saying that the whole thing was staged with both parties involved, but there is no way that bottle was made out of glass. It doesn't make sense for many different reasons.

It was probably sugar glass.

It's hard to know if it was totally staged. It'd obviously make sense to have some sort of scripted scuffle in order to drum up interest for any potential fight, but it seems like it got out of hand and now it looks like they're both going to receive fines and suspensions.

If two boxers wanted to fight they could just turn up at each other's gym and brawl to their heart's content... but it always happens at press conferences in front of the cameras before being broken up. Funny that.

Yes, they could do, and also a fight can break out after a heated exchange where it wasn't planned.

Bearing in mind how much they stand to gain though, it's pretty likely it was all planned and they'd take whatever punishment they get given as it's likely to be worth it.

It happens at press conferences because it presents fighters with an opportunity to grandstand their cause before the public - a concept that is completely different than a staged, theatrical fight where all the participants are in on it.

What is their 'cause'?

The only cause I can see as far as yesterday goes is that until they 'kicked off' a proper fight between them would have had little interest in it and now there'll be enough in it to sell it.

Isn't it just that the sport has suffered a massive loss in popularity bought about by the rise of all that mixed martial art stuff, and they've resorted to WWF style 'antics' to drum up interest in a fight that no one would have cared about otherwise?

What is their 'cause'?

Everyone has a different cause. Haye's was to gin up media support for his goal of fighting Vitaly. He may have completely kept his mouth shut and nothing would have happened, had the German journalist not asked Vitaly's manager about why British fighters are unstable, which promoted the manager to have a go at Haye, who was standing in the back of the room waiting for his chance to capitalize.

If it was staged, no one told the German Police as they arrested Chisora at the airport.

They were told before they got round to pressing charges.

It will be handled by the BBBofC. Chisora may lose his license.

So we have two british boxers both losers in the ring against the klitschko's arguing about who's better.

What baffles me is how pathetic David Haye is to punch someone who's already been a fight clean in the jaw with a glass bottle then pick up a tripod as well and swing that about.

I'm surprised the Rock never interfered and layeth the smack down.

To be honest there is a case for both to lose there licence.
Chisora is a disgrace to not only British Boxing but boxing in general.

The slap was petty but understandable but the spitting was pretty disgusting.

I agree the slap was just silly , I dont think it was understandable.
Why did he do it ? I dont think it has been done before.

Sorry, understandable in the sense that the slap was his a tactic to wind klitschko up, not that I condone it.

What happend with the spitting and the press conference was just immature from two professional boxers who should have enough discipline not to resort to cheap tactics.

Boxing needs to take a stand and clean up a bit. Chisora should never fight again. Haye shouldn't either given that he's finished anyway.

Haye should really keep it zipped and just bow out with whatever dignity he had left before he was dominated in his last fight.

Chisora's trainer was right that he's a great salesman. I doubt anyone will care much if Haye's going to come out of retirement.

We're going to be seeing Haye on Sky Sports news everyday now, aren't we? Jesus.......

This has to be the best boxing brawl move ever, literally right in front of the police too.

The Tyson - Mitch Green debacle in the 80s was the best. Even funnier since Green came across like a retarded Rick James knockoff.

Chisora yelled at Haye after the brief, chaotic fracas: "David, I'm gonna shoot you. I swear to God, David, I'm going to feckin' shoot you. I'm going to shoot you. I'm gonna shoot David Haye. I am going to shoot David Haye.

Rubbish like this is one reason why he should never hold a Boxing licence.

Why is Chisora marching up to Haye during his post match press conference?

Why is he allowed to do that? Why is there no security? It was a shambles... mildely entertaining though.

Also Sugar Glass? seriously?? Sugar Glass is designed to break and shatter easily. A real bottle doesnt actually break that easily, it can literally bounce off a persons head without breaking. If it's in your hand and you punch it probably wont break. You see a lot of bottles kicking about, you see Haye drinking from one before and then i think he just punches him with it in his hand, not technically bottling him but more a reaction punch. The lad with the red cap took a few shots too.

Or a firearms licence.

This is the shot where the bottle shatters isn't it?

Are you telling me that's made of glass?

I gotta say, I thought the exact same thing when I saw it. It's got to be sugar glass, which I'd imagine would be fun to break over someone's head

Yeah. Happens in UFC / MMA and all that. It's almost always staged
