Has there been any turnaround like this in the public polls?
Nope, think there's only been a 3 point lead at best, was also a 10 point Moore lead so it's kind of all over the place.

So, Roy Moore was on the watchlist of the mall? Where was the local media?

It tells you again that, when it comes to serious journalism, there is no alternative to the likes of the WasPost, NYT, and so on. They are not perfect, but they do a much serious job.

Probably covered somewhere in all these stories but I imagine a good outcome for the gop is to hold the election with Moore, win, and then oust him. That way they keep control of the seat for the next 2 years.

In other words, I think the stalling is semi intentional.

My guess is local Alabama journalism isn't the best.

This is the job of either a committed local reporter, or of the long-time local correspondent of a national paper. AFAIK local papers have been hammered by the rise of the net, and national papers have significantly cut down their long-term reporting staff too, relying instead on agency stories.
(Which is not to say that catching this story long before today was impossible).

I don't think it will get to this but if he runs I think he wins and by a good margin.

Its all a big headache for the GOP.

Even if Moore does step down, the challenge GOP face is getting at least 45-50% of voters to write down the same candidate on the ballot paper.

We just need a few more senior dems to support this and we may get some momentum going to abolish this system of superdelegates before 2020.

They're going to try to teach 45-50% of Alabama voters how to write before the election? Seems challenging.

What difference does it actually make? The superdelegates have never voted against the popular vote.

My guess is that a local mall rarely makes such lists public especially 30 years ago.

I wonder if he is still banned from the mall.

Having worked for a company that owned several malls, they never alerted the media to bannings.

Siege mentality.

Its clever -- politics is local and he is fighting for their behalf against the world albeit it a few minor indiscretions along the way. Uses religion like ISIS.

If Jesus ever came back on Earth, he would beat the crap out of Roy Moore. I died for this cnut?

What the actual feck?
As was pointed out before, he's the same guy that did the "Don Lemon Squeezy" weirdness, so I think it's safe to say he's not quite a modern day Atticus Finch.

What a state.

I don't know why anyone would expect different from a state like Alabama. It's one of the worst states in the country in terms of its ranking for nearly everything under the sun. I won't be surprised if there are still people in that state sitting on their porches waiting for a few blacks to show up and clean their yard.

A dash of racism with a dollop of ignorance.

In combination with the implied Whatboutism 'Somewhere in the world where there are darker skinned peoples under aged girls are forced marry to so why the fuss about Roy Moore when you have a darker skinned interviewer you hypocrites'.

Is the implied Whatboutism here: 'Some parts of the Muslim world under aged girls are forced to marry so why the fuss about Roy Moore when you have a Muslim interviewer you hypocrites. Great about the diversity though'??

Also "he said whether it was a 25, 35 or he didn't know her age he'd ask the mothers permission to date her'. LOL @ asking a 35 year old woman's mums permission to date her and also lol @ 25, 35 and ummm I can't say 14, I know uhhh 'didn't know her age'.

He didn't know her age, must have wrong assumed she was held back several grades, such an easy mistake to make.

My sister got funding to continue her research there. She's dreading it. I just hope Newcastle to Alabama isn't too much of a shock for her.

It's no secret most of the states in the South are ranked very low in terms of quality of life. The only states in the south that still has some semblance of normal are Texas and Georgia. Louisiana is a prime example. Bobby Jindal's Republican policies have totally decimated that state. It's been over 12 years and they still can't recover from Hurricane Katrina, simply because Jindal chose to not accept federal funding, cut taxes and assume it would bring more investment to his state.
