Every thread ends up as a 'LVG's got the tactics wrong' or 'we need to buy x'. The same debates are regurgitated over and over again.

And somehow I can't seem to stay away!

Yes but I didn't mean bullshitter as in "liar" but more like as in using big words for little output (philosophy being the word that annoys me the most). He talks the talk.

His CV and record of winning at every club and country he's managed in would suggest he also walks the walk.

He does waffle on at times, but he's a fecking top coach of that there can be no mistake.

His CV is also full of many negative thing, I believe he's a good coach but who overcomplicates things for no reason.

I'm not sure what negative things are on his CV?

But yeah he might over complicate things at times but there may be a method to some of his madness that we fail see. Time will tell of course, but even SAF made some baffling decisions over the years i think most managers do to some extent.

Very true he is almost as likely to fail as he is to succeed and he has a history of making poor decisions that prove costly because of over thinking and his philosophy.

I think it really is 50/50 which way things will turn out with LVG as manager, look at his two spells with holland for example, at the last World Cup he over achieved with a relatively ordinary Dutch side but his first spell was a huge flop with a much more talented group of players.

Allowing Ireland to qualify over the Netherlands was a big failing, especially if you saw his tactics in the Dublin game.

Still though, you're right in that all managers make some baffling decisions. Plus there's usually a certain amount of logic to all of LVG's decisions, he just stretches that logic past the point of common sense.

I did i was there..haha

But yeah that was a disaster for him in his first spell with the dutch and he has admitted as much. But i think he redeemed himself to an extent getting them to their best ever WC finish last year with the most ordinary dutch squad i can remember.

Despite people saying "it's too early" or "it's only pre season", peoples fear about the team over the last 2 years have been all true. LvG is going to mess the team up again this year.

.
Being sacked from Barca twice, the second time leaving them near the relegation zone. Being sacked from Munich for not being in UCL zone. Not being able to qualify for WC with Holland.

1 Dutch league, 1 German league and 1 German Cup is his total number of trophies in this century.

He has an impressive CB but also many negative things there.

Can he play there?

welcome to forums friend.

if anyone on here really had any clue they wouldn't just be some gimp on a forum, they'd be earning millions doing it for real.

Yup, we should accept everything the Professor says and does. Us mere peasants have no authority to question the philosophy or even have an opinion.

Lvg criticism in the unpopular opinion thread now even though it seems to be the most popular opinion on the forum right now.

Only sacked by Barca once actually he left in 2000 to manage Holland, had they sacked him i doubt they would have re-hired him 2 years later. Bayern fair enough but he was already leaving regardless that year as he and the directors didn't get along.

All top managers have a few sackings under their belt even Mourinho and Ancelotti.

3 major trophies in 6 full seasons at club level, 4 of those years at a small club like AZ where he won them their first title in 30 years. Impressive.

I hope that record continues at United.

Completely agree. And all because we lost a bloody pre season game.

People who blather on endlessly about formations need to put the playstation or xbox down and go join a team and actually play the game, because they are completely clueless.

Agreed. Di maria is replaceable, De Gea is not.
Lloris could do a good job at replacing DDG, even if he isn't a younger player he's certainly someone we could be confident with instead of the others. Pedro will be such a huge improvement on Di Maria that we'll be laughing come end of the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was a better footballer during his three final years as a Manchester United player than the guy who played for Real Madrid

Don't know about better as he's been more effective at Real, but he was definitely more entertaining at United 2006/07 especially.

LVG still is a great manager despite one pre-season game. He is still the one to lead us forward and we will win against Tottenham with Blind as LCB and Herrera on the bench.

Can't believe I have to put this in this thread. :nervous:

I also still believe that LVG knows what he is doing. I doubt that he is finished with changing up the team.

At the reported €10m buy out, Pato, at only 25, would be worth a punt. At worst he can't be worse than Ando as a squad player and if he could get back to his best he'd be fantastic.

With all the crying over the Di maria situation.... I think we'll be much better off with Pedro in and Di maria out then with Di maria in and no Pedro. Pedro just suits us better, is a better and more consistent winger, and suits the style better. Also much better attitude.

Why's that?

Hope that's not unpopular, it seems very likely.
