We will struggle to get top 4 with the current attacking set up LVG is using. Rooney - miles past his best, Memphis - Extremely over hyped and being played out of position, Young - has good and bad days and is often not up to the level we need, Mata - Good player being played out of position, lacks the pace and strength to be a great winger, should be swapped positions with Memphis.

What is with dropping Herrera and Smalling, two of our best players from last season; defense should be Smalling plus 1. CM should be Herrera plus 1 or 2.

If we don't start playing players in their best positions and playing the best performers in the team, rather than just dropping Smalling and Herrera for no apparent reason then I honestly think we will be miles of the title and will be battling for fourth with Liverpool. We also need another attacker who can score goals and change a game on their own as the current lot wont do it in tight games.

This is only from judging the pre season games so I hope im surprised and we see something different against Spurs.

I think he was lucky last year. Lucky as injuries and suspensions forced his hand to make obvious selection choices.

Love it when you are so direct. If I said it like this I would be crucified (trust me some LvG worshipper on here will come along responding to this post and lecture me!)

Anyway, let me say here here

LvG does not do plan B (and I doubt he has much plan A). He has no passion or motivation to drive our players while our players are on the pitch. He has his note pad and stick to his substitutions which he had in mind beforehand regardless of situation.

He might have worked hard but he has not much intuition and does not think on his feet.

He credits himself for his grand philosophy and if we do good it's coz of his genius brain. If we aren't good it's because the players do not implement his philosophy. He's a bit predictable to be honest.
 
Blackett should never kick a ball for manchester united again.. there isnt another team in the premierships squad he would get a look in to..

Let me say I had that feel since last season. After every game I was hoping things would change and would see how it goes next. And then repeat... At some point I don't remember when I was dreaming of one day, life after LvG that would be something ...
 
Jones won't ever become a top - let alone - world class center back. In fact, he won't ever become a starting CB in a team that wins EPL.

As a United fan, I want my team to succeed and obviously the only way to go is wanting my manager to improve and do better. What's wrong with that???? I want him to prove me wrong, ALl the time. The problem is not about a one pre season loss. I think some people here like yourself who really love LvG and appreciate each move the manager makes need to think properly. LvG has not done anything to untied yet and before that day comes, he would still be under scrutiny. Yeah give him time, but to do what? He needs to prove we doubters wrong, and he better be quick.

People like yourself are marginally like the RAWK, whatever the manager does he does no wrong even things are not working. Wake up and wise up mate!
 
When Moyes got sacked everyone wanted LVG to come in to steady the boat and build the foundations for the next manager.

Although it is frustrating that we look like we ain't moved forward from last season, just think how we was under Moyesey and where we are today.

Let him build a good foundation and then we get a manager to take us to the next level, dare I say Giggs:wenger:

You sounded like a teenager without logic and your sole purpose is to chastise me. I will be patient... And explain. Gosh... Football make people talk so irrationally. Anyway, are you suggesting I want him to do bad so he will be fired? As much as I am critical of him, I want him to achieve something before he leaves us in 2017 (his suggested time to leave) of course he needs to do better (otherwise we would be stuck in the "aiming at top 4" forever.

Why is it so hard to understand? Where's your brain?

It's all good if he does build a foundation. Give him time, yes. But then we still are faced with he doesn't know where his player is and players wanting to leave scenario. He needs to improve on his man management skill when working hard on foundation. He has exactly two seasons to prove himself and we are patient. All we need is improvement. He can't just go buy world class player and let him go next season. Buying a second rate goal keeper and telling the classy one "you need to work fight your spot". Look what effect it has on players!

This isn't an unpopular opinion it is the truth.

going into this season without a signing a solid CB well feck us over. especially in europe.

The 3-1 win was exciting even it was pre season. It would be fascinating if we were to face Barca in a CL game and won like that but no with our current situation, I find it hard to imagine how we will be dealing with CL. This PSV game is pre season yes, but it's also 9 days before our first league game. That's the real deal and it's going to be tough. It's understandable why people on here are anxious.

this is my last post in convo with you and then you're on my ignore list.

You say we fans are patient and need you want him to have some success until 2015 and then you say - "Yeah give him time, but to do what? He needs to prove we doubters wrong, and he better be quick. "

You blame him for saying every player need to fight for his place and that's bad management although in DDG you said why not say in general that every player needs to fight for his place which he in fact said.

He bought ADM, it didnt work, he's now in hiding but we shouldnt sell him right although he was poor for us and is a spineless cnut.

Some criticism is all right, he's done some mistakes but your every post is anti LVG and you blame him for everything and in lots of posts you jump into your mouth so to say as stated in my first sentence regarding fans being patient.


Then based on all that I just said its obvious you dont like him (it was obvious even last season), that's its nothing bad just its obvious and you go on about me soinding like a teenager and having no brain (which is funny cause your posts look like something a teenager would write) and you go on all crazy claiming again you just want him to succeed.

The season is the real deal when it starts, this pre season game meant nothing more then the 3-1 win against Barcelona, nothing at all. People are just pessimists on here so play down every good thing and go over the top for any negative thing. It was all just about fitness and gelling the squad together as pre season always is about.

I really hope you're right. For me I never played down a win unless the opposition was lowly and you can't get overly excited. About fitness, shouldn't players in the last game of pre-season be fitter than when they came in from holiday in the first game? Granted we played Club Am and San Jose....

Seriously what do you think how our players gel so far?

How the hell do you know what his man management skills are like? Are you there daily speaking with LVG and the players? Do you know the manner in which he speaks to them?

Who has he let go? If your implying Di Maria... Di Maria wants to leave, not LVG wanting him to leave, BIG difference.

Finally, your bit about the goalkeeper is probably about Valdes. If so, are you suggesting Valdes was right to tell LVG he isn't playing in the reserves? What kind of idiotic logic is that? Yes Valdes like everyone else has to work for the place in the team! Valdes spent a long spell out injured and you expect him to be picked ahead of De Gea?? Van Gaal asked him to find fitness and form, a few games in the reserves wouldn't hurt him. He didn't have enough games in the first team to pick him for (Cup games for example)..

Results..perhaps, but performances,tactics,formations,player roles,team chemistry etc all these things mean a lot in pre-season more so when our next fixture is a PL match against Tottenham.

We are still lost, and fans have every right to express their frustrations at a manager and a system that we still don't fully understand, our number one priority in May was a world class/well above average CB, we still haven't signed one yet.

Players are being played out of position, good players are still on the bench, we are still "experimenting" which is really sad to say the least, we should be perfecting a system not experimenting.

No I was referring to him warning DDG he has to fight for his spot because the new signing (Romero) is capable. In my opinion telling a top player he needs to fight for his spot does not serve any purpose but would have negative effect. No?

Don't really want to say in details but I do know someone who knows LvG's man management first hand. Sorry can't say more than that.
