United under LvG: verdict so far!

His substitutions have been terrible all season, his starting line-ups almost as bad. Fellaini was shit against Newcastle, shit again today and yet will see out the game. Di Maria was crap against Newcastle and against Sunderland but still starts ahead of Januzaj, Rafael can't get a game and has to watch the right winger playing his place give them two goals on a plate (and still not get subbed).

He's a joker. He's all bluff and bluster and arrogance but there's no substance behind any of it.

Van Gaal would maybe be successful if he didn't purposely kill all attacking momentum we get. I'm absolutely sick of him now. I always said I'd judge him at the end of the season but this is just absolutely ridiculous. We were good in the first half and needlessly he took Herrera off and then all momentum goes. Decisions like that, and starting Valencia every game at RB are ones that ultimately get you the sack, and rightfully so.

He's a pussy. This is a cup tie, you have to go for the win since you're at home. With the players he has, he has to accept the risks that go with attacking. Stupid coach.

Why is he such a negative manager? We were good in the first half. He cost us the game.

Poor manager. They don't make them like Fergie anymore do they.

Only one to blame for today's game. Absolutely ruined the game with his subs. How he managed to sub anyone before Fellaini is beyond me.

We will have another manager next season and DDG will leave

Indeed, not going to put the result on him today but yeah he continues to disappoint. Knew he'd kill our momentum at half time but at least we had half a game of entertaining football, that's progress..right..right?

Valencia over Rafael is as ridiculous a decision as they come

We don't know why herrera was taken off.

Can't blame van gaal for valencias stupid back pass or di maria being an utter clueless twat by whacking the ref/grabbing his shirt in frustration.

Those two things fecked us.

Difficult without a defence. De Gea + proper defenders and Arsenal wouldn't have scored today.

He's lost the benefit of the doubt when it comes to subs tonight.

Top 4 or bust I think, rightly or wrongly its just the way it is.

If we don't make top 4 this season he can feck off and take everyone of his coaches with him. I've had it.

I've been a believer all this time, but patience is really wearing thin right now. That was a crushing defeat against fecking Arsenal at home. What the hell were those subs about? Looked so much better in the first half.

He's not a Manchester United manager. The sooner he goes the better. Cautious isn't even the word, just past it. Out!

His negativity and disposition towards defensive choices is unbecoming for a Manchester United manager.

Maybe those decisions biting him in the ass are the twitches he's talking about? If so, he should have learned by now.

Why do all our players stand about a mile apart, and never move?

I dont think he knows what he's doing. If one of my top 2 choices are available in the summer I'd be delighted to make the change

It comes across that he doesn't know what he's doing. His primary tactic is floating crosses in to Fellaini, this has developed from being a last ditch idea to a primary tactic that we base the whole team around. Nobody on our team can cross so most of the time it doesn't work in the slightest. We were in control at the end of the first half so he made two substitutions that cost us the game. He insists on playing a useless right winger as a right back, when we actually have a proper right back in the squad. If you're going to dull your attack to play a defensive setup then that setup has to be water tight. As it is, he kills our attack but we don't get any better defensively either so we just pathetically concede goals and lose games.

He's a philosophical know it all whose decisions cost us the FA Cup and will probably cause us to lose the top 4 spot. Seriously fed up with him right now.

I have had it. Sitting here all season hoping this so-called philosophy to start working. Well, feck right off now Mr. Gaal. Nothing is working, nothing. If there were sign, sure fine let's give you some more time but literally nothing is working.

It's weird though, during the game I felt so annoyed with him. Never got that feeling with Moyes. He's beyond frustrating.

Agree with those saying top 4 or bust.

Not overly critical tonight. Thought we were controlling it and probably would've won until the Valencia gift.

Even then we could have brought it back. Bellerin not getting booked and Di Maria losing his head lost it.

I'm genuinely shocked by the adjustments he made at half. Bringing Herrera off killed any hope of creating chances.

Did you not want to win the game, Louis? Because that second half was probably the most negative 45 minutes of football that I have ever seen. And it was at home. Against Arsenal. In a quarter final. Just feck off.

Epic stuff from a lot of you guys, we play one of the better games in 2 seasons, Valencia gifts a goal and di Maria goes full retard thus we lose. What can LvG do about that?

This. Not van Gaal's fault that Valencia and di Maria are brainless idiots.

I would sack him ASAP if I was in charge if he doesn't get top four. I don't trust him to win titles, what United should be doing, so managing us while dwindling to shite performances and costly draws/defeats is pointless.

I'd much rather see him sacked than give him time as he's shown me nothing that makes me think he's good enough to manage us.

Final straw tonight, the fact he decides to bring on a young, inconsistent winger (who I don't rate, at all) when we need a goal when we have Falcao sitting on the bench says it all. I've had enough, the guy is getting nothing right at the moment. Failure to finish top four he needs to go.

I think it might be best to cut our losses with lvg...he is simply not good enough!

For me he brings nothing to the table, tactically inept, poor substitutions (again & again), and he has turned a world class player in Di Maria into an average player. In fact everyone bar De Gea has regressed under him.
