United are "Genuinely interested" in signing Neymar

I don't understand why he would leave the best/biggest club and possibly kill the most talented attacking trio of all time? He genuinely seems to love playing for Barcelona and he will be the main main in 3 or 4 years.

This.

He won't.

They will pay him mega wages. They will make it happen.

The end.

I think the only realistic driver for this deal to happen is if the tax issues in Spain are stressing him out that much/are very serious.

I could see the fee being around £140m as long as a good chunk is based on appearances, milestones, etc.

I think we'd pay it. He's the walking definition of a Galactico, which we need, and at a good age.

Exactly, look at what his buddy Dani Alves did (and Sergio Ramos!) Neymar knows he is cannot be easily replaced at this time and Barca will capitulate to his demands sooner or later. He is using MUFC.

We would be much better off throwing money at attainable targets like Griezmann IMO.

If that's the case it'll be interesting to see where Barca find the money to give both him and Messi new contracts. Considering they're both going to be standing firm over the tax feck ups.

I had a dream this happened. Probably because I signed him on FM recently.
I added myself on one FM game and formed a deadly trio with him and Rooney. Make of that what you will but I'm warning you, I was pretty much the perfect player.

Everyone has a price, it just all depends whether we are willing to pay it.

I really hope these rumours are just false. If they are true this is the main part of the problem with us, going after the wrong targets, unrealistic targets at that.

yeah we should just settle for the depay's of the world instead. that's our level

Well, many fans on this forum seemed to believe (in the Summer) that Memphis was one of the best youth players in the history of football. I kid you not.
They believed that he would replace Di Maria and do better.
Of course, after seeing him play we all accept that at this point in time, he is pretty average and good for the bench. Injuries have now allowed him to get game time, so good for him.

But, regarding Neymar, I think we do have to be more realistic. We couldn't sign Ramos. We couldn't sign Muller. We couldn't sign Messi. And we won't sign Neymar.
We need to be more realistic and buy lesser players and then get the best out of those players.

The Neymar gambit can only be a signal to other top players that United are willing to spend, not to actually land Neymar. There's no chance of Neymar leaving Barcelona for any other football city on the planet.

Would anyone here, if it were up to them and they weren't a red manc through and through, seriously consider leaving Barcelona for United? Methinks not.

that soon?

Watching him in the World cup, I thought, this guy looks bang average, but they Spain game aside, they didn't half play in a constricted style.

But the talk of stats of goals, assists, and certainly his free kicks made me think I'd got it wrong.

Has he got a free kick on target yet?

Just want to get it on record here that I am genuinely interested in a threesome with Kate Upton and Megan Fox, hope to seal the deal some time in the near future, will keep you guys updated on progress

Don't want him. I don't think he will be suited to the PL and he will fail similarly to ADM. I'd rather get Bale.

He's much more talented and has more to his game than ADM though. You're having a laugh if you think Neymar won't destroy this league, considering the Epl makes Sanchez look like Messi.

This simply is not going to happen. Even if we wanted to and paid enough money, why the hell would Neymar swap Barcelona for Manchester?

Barca saying that neither Messi, Suarez or Neymar are for sale and will not be sold.

I am of the opinion there is no chance we will sign Neymar, but it's obvious they'd say that. Hardly likely they'll say "hey, we can't afford their wages come get one of 'em" They have 3 of the world's best players as their attackers, they could make a fortune for them, no reason to lower their value, clubs will be interested regardless.

I really think they are dead serious. You cant sell such a megastar and survive an election.

One thing that Barca are genuinely struggling with though is having players poached from La Masia. For me, thats where our focus should be.

Sanchez is much better suited to the PL - he is much tougher and more tenacious. Neymar will start falling down at the first tough challenge. I've seen him play enough times - in Spain the defenders give him a lot of space and he can show his talent, but at international level when he plays against more physical sides, he spends half of his time on the ground asking for free kicks. He is just not the type of player who can excel in the PL.
