Clear what the swedish plan is; leave possession to England, stay solid in defense and play direct counters. Also, kudos to the fans that have made the journey.
Team A keeps the ball and creates nothing, Team B keeps the ball and creates nothing. Only one of the teams knows how to play possession football though...Thats because they know how to play possession football, anyway dunno why but lose my shit when i see formation with 2 DMCs.
Is there no better manager than Southgate? I think that´s England biggest problem. He´s a bit better than Pearce but not by much.
He's been bloody brilliant up until 1 game ago but yeah, now he's shit...Is there no better manager than Southgate? I think that´s England biggest problem. He´s a bit better than Pearce but not by much.

Honestly, its bloody ridiculous. He's been bloody brilliant up until 1 game ago but yeah, now he's shit...
It's all ingrained in the English mentality. As soon as an opposition presses the centre back's or keeper, by default it's a long hoof. How many generations will it take to resolve this?

Would better managers want to manage an u21 side?
What's the difference, what makes one way proper and the other way not? Please enlighten me.Ehm yea, creation is not only segment on which you judge possession football of some team, nor team A and team B having same way while they play possesion football. The fact that both teams didnt create a single thing, does not mean they copy/paste possession football of each other.
Hamren tried some fancy 4-2-3-1 but seems to have reverted back to 4-4-2 now. I think Roy is proud of us.That is always our "plan".
That no longer happens at senior level, contrary to the much-pedalled myth.
Yes, but U-21's represents more the general development of English football since many (most?) of these players will never see an England first-team cap, whereas, the full England team represents the most technical that we have, which would explain the different in technical and mental approach to the game.
The best way to see how English football is doing, generally, is to look at the widest variety of talents representing different levels.
I don't think there's a lot to it other than the fact our centre half's are not very good. If at full strength, we could be playing both Stones and Jones at the heart of the defence, both of which would confidently use the ball at this level.
He qualified for the finals (when the likes of Spain and Holland hadn't) playing attacking, attractive football. In the mean time his team beat Germany, Portugal and Croatia twice, losing only once during the whole qualifying campaign, only Portugal could better that. What specifically has he failed to acheive exactly?Bloody brilliant? Cmon he done alright but being bloody brilliant is streching it a bit. But i guess with underachieving English teams perhaps it can be considered brilliant.
You Brits love to moan and complain don't you?

Against Portugal the problem was actually the midfield. Is England missing players? It was pretty poor.
So basically, you haven't got a clue, gotcha. What way proper or not, they dont do basics(which makes them look like they dont know how to play possession football),like movement when you have possession and reaction after you lose ball and so on. Its like our possession in the start of the season,or when Rooney do his sideway cross pass, like its good thing for possession football.
Edit: Oh and yea,who on earth thinks that Southgate is bloody brilliant.
I don't think so. It's fair to say we miss a lot of the senior squad at this level. In an ideal world we'd have both Wilshere and Barkley playing in midfield for us. Given we can't use them I think we do quite well.
There is a real dearth of defensive midfield talent, mind you.
Not sure what England fans were expecting, Championship level players asides from Kane.
