And how much is that in today's money, following normal CPI inflation not footballer price inflation?
~50 million pounds adjusted for inflation.

Right, transfer fees have shifted since 2001.the world record transfer fee for a goal keeper is 33 million pounds. Buffon 2001.
The new galactico is Asensio. Can see him being as good as Hazard in a year or two, if not better.[/QUOTE
Is a talent for sure. Makes the Hazard links strange for me. I know they always want the next big thing but they have Asensio, another young Spaniard that I have forgotten the name of, Bale, Isco and then Rodriguez that couldnt even get on the bench. Hazard is obviously a very good player but is he a level above any of them?
I think there is more truth in the Morata being sold to make way for an Mbappe bid. Benzema isnt getting any younger and has been very good for Madrid, to remain there first choice striker for so long is an achievement but that is the one position I think they can sign am improvement upon....well sadly along with replacing the keeper with DeGea.

Because we know De Gea wants to go?Why bother setting a price for someone you dont want to sell?

Hope we made that promise in the condition we'd get a proper replacement i.e. Oblak which sure as hell ain't happening this summer. We might even already have promised DDG to let him go.

Has he said this?Because we know De Gea wants to go?
Bloody bargain in today's market. I would be surprised if Liverpool, etc get involved at that price! How is 66 million putting anyone off?
Isn't there a De Gea thread for the constant speculating?
Where are the Tweets?
How has he done that?I hope Jose knows what he is doing. Simply putting pressure on Woodward won't help him in the end if the next season doesn't go well. Woodward will still be the CEO, but Jose's future and managerial legacy will be under scrutiny big time next season. He needs to get involved actively and do his part to get those desired targets convinced about joining us.
Yep, the players we're linked to the most:
Michael Keane
Ivan Perisic
Eric Dier
That is absolutely abysmal, given our circumstances. If that turns out to be our crop of signings, we'll finish 5th at best next season. The only comfort I'm taking from this is, Jose is a serial winner and that list doesn't look like the wishlist of a serial winner. Surely he would aim higher than that.
How has he done that?

Zlatan at Juve: 92 games - 26 goals
Morata at Juve: 93 games - 27 goals
Big difference in Serie A was a powerhouse when Zlatan was there. Now its more of a 1 club league and when morata is at that 1 club, even worse stats!
Don't know why we get our knickers in such a twist. I think we are going to sign 3-5 very good players who will improve us big time this summer. Just wait and see before judging and jumping up and down the window has not kicked in for any team apart from City and Milan.
Real Madrid don't sell top players. They buy other people's top players and sell players they don't need.
Erm, I don't even rate him that highly but yeah, there's no doubt he's an upgrade on what we have.Do you rate Morata as a player to improve us?
Yeah, in many cases. They do have a "shiny new thing" tendency but Bale is a crucial part of their team as well as their marketing activities. But the players they sell are top players and have gone on to win many things being vital cogs in the teams
Of course their are variables. Stats don't tell a full story, but people like to use stats to knock Morata down.
I could even argue that in a weakish dutch league, Zlatan didn't manage 15 goals in his 3 seasons there

We're very quiet...

Griezmann not coming, Bale not leaving, Fabinho being linked to others. Not a good muppet day.
I'm struggling to think who we can get that will make us compete with Spurs City and Chelsea.
I trust Jose but am very worried. No Zlatan and not a fan of the names being touted. Where are the goals going to come from?
We need to score atleast 20 more than this season aswell.
