Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I'm starting to come to terms with the fact we will have a weaker squad next season than the one we had for this.

Morata and James taking Ibra and Rooneys places in the squad would improve us and give our attack a lot more depth IMO.

£66m thats it! De Gea is worth far more to us than that. Why do we always seem to get fleeced when we sell players?

. Fleeced? 75m Euros is more than reasonable or a decent striker and £24m

Every page in here reads the same of late. Stop wetting your knickers and get some fresh air people - newspapers have to sell stories which is why Utd are linked to anything with a pulse.

We will sign some good players and be even stronger next season.

How is that reasonable when you have Mbappe having bids of 130m Euros? Morata is a bench warmer and is not a goalscoring machine that we need.

DDG is our most valuable asset and worth a lot more that £66m to us.

Potentially which is weird considering the amount of positivity that we had after the Europa.

Although I'm not expecting and "superstar" names I do hope we can at least add some decent quality.

Losing DDG would be a huge blow though.

These passive aggressive digs by Ballague on Mourinho really makes me laugh.

Morata has one of the best goals per minutes around.

What do you consider a goalscoring machine? Names and numbers?

We might get fecked from all sides possible but never mind that, said yesterday, that fecking cnut Ballbag sticking knifes, also using a day old statement from players father as some kind inner source of his, its not even about good news for us or bad, please just ban his tweets already.

Lewandoski
Aubameyang
Bellotti
Lacazette
Kane

Morata's goals have come mostly from off the bench when Real have killed the game and already leading in a league which is not competitive as the PL. Solksjaer had a good goals per minutes ratio due to goals from off the bench, yet his goals from starts were not as impressive so you cant use goals per mins as a comparison when a player is mostly coming off the bench and also when the game is already dead. I hope if he does come he can prove me wrong but I doubt he will be the 25+ pl goals per season striker we need.

Even his record at Juve was not impressive...93 games, 27 goals. We need a striker that has a much higher goal scoring record. We need an out and out goalscorer who will suit the PL

(This is my last post of the day so will be more than happy to continue this conversation tomorrow)

Mbappe is a striker and one of the biggest prospects in the world. Keepers will always go for less and it would make him the most expensive keeper in history. We also have an able deputy and also a very good prospect in Pereira.

#Lazio centre-back Wesley Hoedt wanted by #LCFC

Could be a very good signing for Leicester.

Interesting how sportwitness turns a Fabinho wanted by PSG story from L'Equipe into a Manchester City and United one.
They used to be quite decent at first when they were just looking at the validity of rumours (and mostly debunking them), but they've turned into absolute clickbait garbage. Their articles are always so poorly written as well.

There's no way City will get both, Mendy and Fabinho, having already acquired Silva.

They'll probably get one more. Most likely be Mendy.

Goals per minute this, goals per minute that, have you seen these goals how and when did they come.

He scored half of his goals against relegation teams when the games where already dead. He is very slow and useless outside the box. His stats at Juventus is really bad. Such player should be not more than 25 million euros.

Relegation clubs like Celta, Bilbao, Napoli, Sociedad, Alaves?

None of those teams are relegation standard and most goals not at a dead rubber stage. IIRC none were at a dead rubber stage actually.

Emery is not convinced by Aubameyang and would prefer other options like Sanchez.

Well at least now we draw a line through Griezmann and Bale (after he said he wants to win more with Real and Zidane said they don't want to sell him).....we aren't signing them so now to focus on attainable targets.

Yep, the players we're linked to the most:

Michael Keane
Ivan Perisic
Eric Dier

That is absolutely abysmal, given our circumstances. If that turns out to be our crop of signings, we'll finish 5th at best next season. The only comfort I'm taking from this is, Jose is a serial winner and that list doesn't look like the wishlist of a serial winner. Surely he would aim higher than that.
Are we linked to Dier like at all. I see his name being repeated time and time again without a single link to him.

That's my biggest concern, not that fact we haven't made any signings yet because as people have said the window isn't even officially open yet BUT for me the names we are being linked with, Matic and Keane for example aren't going to come in and transform us from 6th place to title challengers, something which getting champions league football again many thought we'd become.
Media just throws names around. Wouldn't be surprised if we signed some completely different names to the ones being mentioned. Be patient.

They are not going to sell Rodriguez AND Bale. And James is likely leaving. So i don't see reason so take serious these Bale rumours right now. But James would be available. James + good winger or James + striker doesn't sound bad. And he could be available for something like 45-60 million. It would still leave some cash to other targets.

After him being left out of the squad yesterday, I say a call from Jose and 30 million from Ed would suffice

Not sure how that price is set to "ward off" Madrid. If you want to ward anyone off you set a 180m asking price like Barca did with Ter Stegen's release clause and leave it at that.

€25m + Morata does not sound like warding off. Sounds more like we want to make the deal happen.

We might even already have promised DDG to let him go.

Zlatan at Juve: 92 games - 26 goals
Morata at Juve: 93 games - 27 goals

He had to rotate next to Trezeguet and Del Piero. Morata had Tevez. He has a low pare Benzema infront of him and he still can't make the cut. That speaks more volume than his stupid goals per minute.

How is 66 million putting anyone off?

the world record transfer fee for a goal keeper is 33 million pounds. Buffon 2001. City might have broken this in this window by a few hundred thousand pounds though.

All the strikers proposed carry a risk. My problem with Morata is that allegedly his GF wants to go back to Italy and I don't think I'd want the DDG situation all over again. If he came with the determination to make this work instead of feeling like a RM outcast like Di Maria or already eyeing his next move, then he could be great for us. Him and Lukaku are my two favourite options. Personally, I'd be happy with either.

From the other touted options; I'm not feeling confident on Belotti sustaining last year's form let alone bringing it to another league. Lacazette in my humble opinion is not the style of player to lead a Mourinho type attack. Plus we have players in his mould, albeit not at his level yet.

I'd take both Morata and James from Madrid if the price was right and if genuinely they want to come. They are both better players than we currently have and some of the best available in the market in their respective positions.
