Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

They are not going to sell Rodriguez AND Bale. And James is likely leaving. So i don't see reason so take serious these Bale rumours right now. But James would be available. James + good winger or James + striker doesn't sound bad. And he could be available for something like 45-60 million. It would still leave some cash to other targets.

If they want a new galactico they would probably have to part with Bale.

The new galactico is Asensio. Can see him being as good as Hazard in a year or two, if not better.

I don't think it as impossible to get Bale as I have in seasons past. Fans and the Spanish press don't consider him indispensable and Zidane is going to stick to his guns with the rotation policy. A lot will depend on the size of the bid for him. If we bid a world record amount, Florentino just might entertain it.

no surprise. His tweet was obvious. I guess some people will still speculate and have a tiny bit of hope he will be here, but that one was dead in the water the moment the ban wasnt removed.

Griezmann confirms to @telefoot_TF1 that he will remain at Atletico this summer.

Basically explains that he wanted to stay. Said it would have been a bitch/dirty move to leave, hope the people would shut up about our club and all the stupid speculative posts on here about the breakdown of it

Whilst we've cooled ours.

I am pretty sure we are working behind the scenes on our top targets Keane/Lindelöf, Dier, Perisic, probably Morata/Lukaku and maybe another surprise. Shit happens, the Atletico ban was a kick in the nuts, but thats life. If Jose targets some players and not others and fails the next season, he has to take the blame. Nothing to getting worked up about.

Admirable but daft IMO. Atleti are going to go backwards against the other La Liga teams and he probably won't get a chance to move next year if we sign others in his position. I doubt Ed and Jose will want to sign anyone who wouldn't drop everything to be here either.

Why would we be interested? This signing would make to much sense. What a transfer window this is shaping up to be in the early stages. Can't wait for the final day and we announce Michael Keane for a stupid fee.

I'm not actually that worried yet.

Its admirable but clearly has fecked up our plans somewhat and if he signs a new contract with a bigger release clause he wont get to come to United :smirk:

Don't see us going back in for him. The club had to make up that bullshit about Ibra to try and save face.

The window isnt even open yet. Probably best to reach day 1 before anyone makes any sweeping statements

I cant see it if the release clause is increased if anything they should lower it. I actually didnt like what the club did, briefing the press about how hes not a priority, it was dumb and more embarrassing than Griezman snubbing us.

He needs new advisors. There is absolutely no reason why he should waste a year of his career because of wanting to be loyal to a team that got themselves transfer banned.

We should not go in for him again.

It actually is, maybe not officially but as we've seen already clubs are doing business but whatever, I'm not really panicking just yet. We've got two months or so to get our business done but some of the names we are being linked with I don't think are going to make us that much better.

It's important to remember that we don't tend to give the press on our end a lot of info into who we're after. The first we'll probably hear of any incoming will be from someone close to the selling team.

I think the point about who we are being linked to is the worrying thing, not that we haven't signed anyone yet. You just hope there is a pleasant surprise in there somewhere, someone nobody expects us to sign.

That's my biggest concern, not that fact we haven't made any signings yet because as people have said the window isn't even officially open yet BUT for me the names we are being linked with, Matic and Keane for example aren't going to come in and transform us from 6th place to title challengers, something which getting champions league football again many thought we'd become.

I'd be devastated if we weren't actually interested in Fabinho. I can't think of a single player who would solve so many problems for us - who would also be available at a good fee. It's madness to not be interested in him.

This window could be horrible, I'm gonna try not to get too invested in it coz if it turns out the way I suspect I'm gonna be gutted.

Back on topic, Morata can do one. I hope we don't pursue him - he's clearly happy being a substitute at the Bernabeu and doesn't want to exit that little comfort zone. I don't want another Di Maria situation here, same goes for James Rodriguez. Those lads have made their bed, let them lie in it. Squad players at Real Madrid, which they're clearly happy enough with.

Yep, the players we're linked to the most:

Michael Keane
Ivan Perisic
Eric Dier

That is absolutely abysmal, given our circumstances. If that turns out to be our crop of signings, we'll finish 5th at best next season. The only comfort I'm taking from this is, Jose is a serial winner and that list doesn't look like the wishlist of a serial winner. Surely he would aim higher than that.

I'm sure he'll get his cut when the odds shorten dramatically on Morata to United and it never happens.

£66m thats it! De Gea is worth far more to us than that. Why do we always seem to get fleeced when we sell players?

I could see RM trying to unload Bale to us. They are paying him £600k a week And still have about 5.5 years to go on that contract.

Yep might as well sell him and prepare to bid for Mbappe next summer with the money we give them plus what they saved on Bale's wages for the season
