Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Seriously something has to be done with these fees.....it's getting beyond ridiculous now and I don't care people saying "Well it's not your money" and "clubs have the right to spend whatever they feel like"....It's simply disgusting seeing City and Madrid paying 150+ MILLION! for a player who most didn't even know who he was last summer.

Also the same I would say for Swansea turning down 50 million for a player. Hope they go bust along with the rest of the Premier League bubble buying average, average players.

Fernandinho? Pep is a big fan.

Not good enough as a holding midfielder. Hasn't got the discipline. Likes to press and often gets caught out. It's no surprise that Pep opted Yaya Toure - who was strongly out of favour, over Fernandinho.

Think he'll be a squad player next season.

Good update from Sammy Lee.

It would be perfect if Real sign MBappe and sell Bale to us leaving City without anyone. Well possibly Sanchez but I can't see Arsenal selling if they don't get Lemar. It's unlikely that Monaco will sell Lemar and Mbappe in one window imo.

Yep. We need Madrid to hurry up then.

Please go ahead and pay £150M for a 18 year old with 6 months of competitive football behind him.

That goes for either City or Madrid.

During ESPN's transmission of the MUFC- Real Madrid game, one of the commentators said there were rumours we were after Marco Asensio. I am surprised I haven't seen any tweets linking us to him, specially with the RM Mbappe link being hot at this time.

They've just sold Morata and Danilo, I think they're fine for funds? Sounds like City are being used to push Madrid into getting it done quickly.

Not just funds, though. Mbappe will need to be guaranteed game time, as he has often expressed. With Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale still there to fill the three positions up top - whether it be a diamond of three up top, it means two of the aforementioned will not start often. See Morata.

What did it say?

Oh wow! Must be something in it then. It was Tancredi Palmeri and he basically said that he had inside info from Real Madrid that before they can buy Mbappe they need to sell someone and that Bale is being lined up at United because he would be the one sitting on the bench if Mbappe comes to Madrid.

Does anyone really believe Mbappé and Sanchez will go City? Firstly they would have way too many top forwards sat on the bench. The group morale would be horrendous in a few months.

Plus regardless what people think of FFP there is a limit. I cannot logically see how City could spend another £200m without incurring some sort of penalty.

Jose totally played down that Bale link the other day. I'd hope we are in for him but seriously hope if we start our bidding way below Real's valuation and they shit themselves as City get closer to Mbappe.

Getting Bale would possibly be the huge game changer we need. Very risky with serious concerns about his injury proneness, but I think it's a gamble we simply have to take if the opportunity presents itself. He's the kind of explosive player we desperately need going forward.

Where the feck would Mbappe even play at City? This is absurd.

Is Augero going to be their League Cup striker?
Acccoridng to bluemoon's resident ITK, IF this happens, Aguero is leaving city this summer. I can't see how that would be a good idea because it would still then leave them a striker short.

Hard to believe, that. I'm sure Real would rather sell us Bale than Asensio.

If Mbappe does indeed go to Real, I think they'll sell Bale.

No thanks. I would rather we went all out for Sanchez.

The player wants Madrid, Madrid want the player. It will happen either way.

Wouldn't mind signing Bale for a decent fee but don't expect they need to sell.

How much would people say Bale is worth now?

100 million. Easy.

Edit: that's what Real would value him at. Not me.

Well considering Gylfi Sigurdsson is going for 50 million, I'd say Bale is worth double that. So, actually, maybe he is worth 100 mill.

It was tweeted. Would be smart business by us if Real would play ball.

Jose said today/yesterday that he has contacts and Bale has told him via these contacts that he is happy to stay at RM.

I still can't work out how Tancredi is still being posted on here as far as I am aware as never got anything right and most of the things he says have already been officially denied.

Talksport mentioned it t'other day. May just be unreliable sources saying it. Banned on here.

100 million. Easy.
Which is an insane reflection on the inflation that we're seeing in football.

In the years since he left Tottenham, he's no longer a player with his peak years ahead of him, he's had lots of injuries and hasn't really moved up on the "good-very good-excellent-world class" scale (that I just invented), yet his value has somehow increased.
