Which is the most pressing position I feel. The biggest improvement we can make to our attack is getting Martial back to what he was.

Personally still think he is a striker. I think Rashford is better out wide than Martial and he is definately a striker too though Martial is the better finisher. Although both can do a job there and a good one at that I would still rather they are vying for the strikers position in the main. If Lukaku and one of those two got injured we would literally have just Ashley Young to play on the left or Perreira. At least if two of Herrera/Carrick/Pogba got injured we would have options of Mensah, Perreira, Fellaini, Blind.........actually....both are pressing, I actually think 4 players should be the bare minimum we are looking to sign. Just personal opinion but Im not especially excited at all with our business so far. Is Lukaku an upgrade on Ibrahimovic, Is Lindelof an upgrade on what we have, would Dier or Matic be an upgrade on what we have and would Perisic be an upgrade on what we have in terms of the first eleven? At least on our signings so far they have been quite young, most of the others linked should be in there peak and only really look like upgrades on our squad rather than first eleven to me. Really hope we pull a surprise or two out of the bag, plenty of time to go but it isnt looking like a great window so far

Lille have signed Thiago Maia

Great signing for Lille, and I actually think a very good choice for Maia. Supremely talented and he should start there immediately and have a chance to showcase his ability, they should be a strong stepping-stone for him onwards to one of Europe's elite.

No doubt United will chuck £100m at him in two years and just lose out to Real.

Honigstein says Goretzka will join Bayern for free next summer but not official until January.

People will say this is a good business model but I hate the way Bayern never pay money to the rest of the league. They must tap up German youngsters years in advance of their contracts finishing else how can they get these agreements in place?

At least in this country the smaller teams make good money from selling young players. Bayern are just a parasite to the rest of the league and grossly unfair.

Basically says that unlike PSG and Man City which are PR projects for the Arabs and who don't give a hoot about profit, the Glazers own United for economic purposes and inspite of having an interest in both the players, we've been priced out for both of the deals as in we can't afford to spend 180m euros or 220m euros on a player.

Also says that Barcelona think that Neymar will leave them.

CSL could be imploding.

I have it on good authority from a reliable source that the league is corrupt as anything. One owner of a club admitted to bribing the referee's and players from the opposition teams.

Obviously. We've no alternative if we can't get Perisic.
If that's the case, it just shows our scouting team gets paid for feck all. How can Perisic be the be all and end all? Hell, a year ago, he wouldn't have even been considered by any of us as in the top 50 wingers we should sign.

Well yes, that's why we aren't the scouts..

And look how much of a better job they're doing...

It's bit of a stupid point to make when there's no clear information. From what we know Mourinho is insistent on signing Perisic or Willian and no other winger.

How do you know that our scouts hasn't presented him with other options and he just didn't like them? It's fairly easy to sit at home and criticise scouts.

This is exactly what I suggested was happening yesterday but was told I was definitely wrong by a couple of people.

I think the (shortlived) days of us being able to outbid anyone we want are gone after the way that prices have rocketed this summer.

@Dan

fecking hell, Dan, talk about the farmer putting the fox in the hen house and then being surprised to know it had led to a pissing slaughter.

Exactly. He didn't utter the word "unsustainable" when he shipped off Bale to Real for a cool €100m.
