Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

If there was the smallest chance we could get Asensio, then I'd drive Mbappé to Madrid myself. Fantastic talent, and in a market of such uninspiring wingers, he's one that would be worth a fair amount. Hazard-lite.

With the way city are spending/ recruiting and our lack of investment they will finish above us as well Chelsea, as at the moment we have just broken even in terms of our transfer dealings. Poor

No thanks. I would rather we went all out for Sanchez.

I'd prefer Sanchez too, but that deal looks impossible to get done. Apparently he prefers City to us if he stays in England, and if push comes to shove certainly Arsenal and Wenger would probably prefer him to go to City over us too (although their obvious preference will be shipping him out of the Premier League to another country for a good price)

Which is an insane reflection on the inflation that we're seeing in football.

In the years since he left Tottenham, he's no longer a player with his peak years ahead of him, he's had lots of injuries and hasn't really moved up on the "good-very good-excellent-world class" scale (that I just invented), yet his value has somehow increased.

It's about who the buyer is. We seem desperate. And besides, the market is for sellers. Such rubbish available to the point where Inter have the nerve to try and ask for £50m plus Martial for Ivan fecking Perisic.

If Real are willing to put one of the few world class forwards on the market, they can charge what they like.

Not sure i'd even pay that for him now. What was the last, even noteworthy thing he did on a football pitch?

Was going to say. Probably be for Wales. He still has incredible ability, and I believe we'd see that at United, but he's been very injury prone over the last couple of years. I'd say 85M.

Imagine City sign Mbappe whilst we haggle over a few million for Perisic..

Say what you want about their spending (I think it's utterly ridiculous now) but they are getting their deals done, unlike us.
They're far richer than us.

Jose totally played down that Bale link the other day. I'd hope we are in for him but seriously hope if we start our bidding way below Real's valuation and they shit themselves as City get closer to Mbappe.

Yes but with a Mega deal like that, thats the stance that should be taken. I mean there is so much that has to happen before Bale is jettisoned by Real. So yeah, I'd play it down too. You just have to remember the Fabregas farce. The public interest embarrassed Woodward. So I think about a deal like that he'd be extremely tight lipped.

This on-going situation could potentially be holding up the Perisic deal. I cant see us going for Bale if we just signed Perisic. As Castles said, we are working within our means.

It has simply increased to hyper inflation in the market.

Surely if Madrid were going to sell anyone, it'd be Benzema.
If that isn't the case, you could definitely see Bale being sold, you don't keep a player on the bench who's wages are 600k a week.

Oh wow! Must be something in it then. It was Tancredi Palmeri and he basically said that he had inside info from Real Madrid that before they can buy Mbappe they need to sell someone and that Bale is being lined up at United because he would be the one sitting on the bench if Mbappe comes to Madrid.
 your favourite player

As I said it's just the way of the market now. We have to accept it or get left behind. Not to mention, we're part at fault for creating these ridiculous fees.

I think Mourinho has hinted at Bale as the one player him being happy with if it is the 3rd and only one due to possible fees involved, but Matic would be a bonus.

Acccoridng to bluemoon's resident ITK, IF this happens, Aguero is leaving city this summer. I can't see how that would be a good idea because it would still then leave them a striker short.
They would have three strikers, young ones, but strikers nonetheless.

Who could all start misfiring when shit hits the fan. With Aguero you're getting a lot of goals - guaranteed.

It's still a bit of a gamble to let Aguero go imo.

Given that Madrid sold Morata, Madrid would be mad to sell Benzema. Besides, a lot of Madrid fans thought Bale should have been benched last season for Isco.

He doesn't fit Guardiola's ideals and his all-around game is declining.

I'd cash in on him too if possible.

He improved in the last few months but yeah it's still a difficult decision in my opinion.

Hard to believe, that. I'm sure Real would rather sell us Bale than Asensio.

I dont think Madrid would sell us a packet of crisps at this point. Both Bale and Jose have said he is happy at Madrid in recent days so this is very much 2+2=46.7.

Also havent they made nearly €100 million of Morata and Danilo in recent weeks? Im sure they are fine for cash somehow.

No, I agree. I don't think Mbappe is a sensible transfer for City. Just confused when you said a striker short.

Yeah, i'm not saying it'll happen by any means. Just that if they were to sell one of them it'd be Bale.

Bale would be worth another world record punt. On his day he would be the best player in the league and would guarantee to lift us to crazy heights. However, it wouldn't be a guarantee because of his injury record.

If he's on the market (Bale) we should be going all in for him. Yes he will cost as much as about 100 million but he could guarantee us winning the league. He's that talented and that much of a match-winner.

Keep him fit and we'll win the league comfortably

Replacing Mbappe with Bale wouldn't make a difference as long as Isco continues to perform and provide balance to RM. As for Bale, United must go for him. Keeping him fit is another issue, but having him as an option would be phenomenal...but then Martial might have to change numbers again!

There's a shirt number regarded with legends at this football club that Bale could take "7"
