SO bitter! Maybe the lad is happy? It's a job, he's in a great city earning good money. He's still living the dream.

If someone doesn't want to come to Utd, why do so many people on here get so pissy.
Not bitter at all, if you have no desire to win anything why bother playing a competitive sport? He's just another one of those soft arse players who care more about living In a hot place in a big city, in football for the wrong reasons.

Didn't have to play for United to win things could of joined a number of top clubs but instead chose to stay and get a decent tanline and a bumper contract.

To make an excellent living and provide for is family?

Who's side you on?
I don't care about taking sides, but players have contracts and they should respect these contracts, if you want to move away you don't need to do childish acts like refusing to train or refusing to join teammates. It does not have anything to do with my opinion about him as a player.

Spurs just got 50m for Walker. No surprise that other teams will ask stupid money from them.

Although I have to say 50m being a "compromise" for Barkley is pretty hilarious. Extremely overrated player.

It's not so much that. It's much more that £50m is silly considering that he's in the final year of his contract: £25-30m (say) now is lot better than zero next summer.

And the £50m price tag was slapped on Barkley well before Spurs sold Walker.

Why compromise? Tottenham don't when they are selling a player, about time someone took them to the cleaners.

Obviously because if they don't - and Barkley doesn't sign a new contract - they lose him for nothing in 1 year's time.

Struggling to think of where Ross Barkley would even play in that Spurs team. They're stacked with quality in CM and Eriksen plays the playmaker role.

Squad cover/competition + one eye on the future (Dembele turned 30 today).

Agreed, Barkley doesn't make sense for them imo.

Then so be it, to get a player out of Tottenham teams have to pay what they want, Spurs always seem to try and penny pinch when it comes to signing players.

Doesn't seem very Spursy to spend 40-50m on a squad player. Nor would it make sense for Barkeley to move to a club where he isn't starting every week. He'll want to be an England regular I would imagine with the World Cup approaching.

Why do Spurs need an attacking central midfielder? They play Alli- a natural number 8- there because he can score goals and links up well with Kane. They have Erikson and Lamela who would probably prefer to play there (injury permitting). What they badly need is pace and width in the final third, and possibly a different striking option to Kane. Throughout the team's core they are solid as a rock.

He's no Cantona but I'm already excited for his return game
Imagine going through the group stages in the Champions League and staying in the title race, a Zlatan return in Jaunary would be a major boost.

They building an English core?

Tottenham are closing in on the signing of young Argentinian centre-back Juan Foyth, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Spurs are in currently talks with the Estudiantes president – the former Chelsea and Manchester United star Juan Sebastian Veron – over a deal worth in the region of £8m for the 19-year-old.

The La Plata-born defender is expected go straight into Spurs’ U23 group and become an understudy to Toby Alderweireld, to whom he is similar in stature and style.

Leicester have agreed a fee with Hull City for goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, Sky sources understand.

They also report that Jakupovic has left the Tigers' training camp in Portugal to hold talks with the Foxes.

Roma are the frontrunners to sign Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez, according to the Leicester Mercury.

Leicester rejected a £20million offer from Roma for Mahrez, according to Sky in Italy, but the Italians are preparing a new offer between £30m and £35m, plus add-ons.

his is still thought to be well below Leicester’s valuation of last year’s PFA Player of the Year – who want £50m.

That would be the Salah replacement sorted if they get Mahrez.
