Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Exactly. They wouldn't want to msrengthen a direct rival and they don't need money.
If it happened (and assuming he can stay fit for much of the season) they'd be handing us the league title in my opinion. Agüero is still top class and I'm not sure why Pep doesn't seem to fancy him as much as previous managers did.

Struggling to think of where Ross Barkley would even play in that Spurs team. They're stacked with quality in CM and Eriksen plays the playmaker role.

They could play him on the right instead of Son. Eriksen, Alli, Barkley behind Kane. I think he'd develop well under Pochettino. £50m would be a great deal for Everton. Sigurdsson's easily a better player right now imo

Pep only likes attacking midfielders/wingers. Defenders, strikers, keepers and defensive midfielders are a nuisance to him.

No ambition from that man he has stayed and accomplished nothing at Roma his entire career and will continue to do so, good luck to him.

He was never going to join us and was using our interest to get a better contract, with his preferred club.
Same thing applies to Griezeman - he used us to get a better contract, then made up some story that the only reason he chose to stay was the transfer ban. If this was truly the case, he'd have signed for us now, for the move to happen in January, when the transfer ban is lifted.

Naingolan, Schneider, Gaitan, Griezeman, Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Ramos - none of these players will be playing for us in their prime. When they are 35+ and if we are interested, they may join.

Then so be it, to get a player out of Tottenham teams have to pay what they want, Spurs always seem to try and penny pinch when it comes to signing players.

It's not our fault if Barkley wants out and if Everton have left it fester until there is just one year left on his contract. Like any club, Spurs don't want to spend any more money than they have to - to expect £50m for a player in that situation is simply unrealistic.

Nainggolan, Griezmann, Sneijder.

Doesn't seem very Spursy to spend 40-50m on a squad player. Nor would it make sense for Barkeley to move to a club where he isn't starting every week. He'll want to be an England regular I would imagine with the World Cup approaching.

We won't be offering £40 - 50m. I'd be surprised if Levy is willing to go beyond £30m, given the contract situation.

As to it making sense for Barkley, it depends on what other offers/options he has - does he have any better offers? He may well believe that he can break into our first XI - and I hope that he does have that self-belief if he comes to us. As for the rest, we offer CL football, a London location, a club that finished in 2nd place last season, excellent training facilities and no doubt at least as much money in wages as he is getting at Everton.

Moreover, he will already know Kane, Rose, Dier, Trippier and Alli from England duties.

All in all, it's hardly a stretch to think that he may well see Spurs as an attractive proposition.

Slow for Premier League transfers in this widow so far. It's all Serie A doing the deals at the moment it seems.

Why do Spurs need an attacking central midfielder? They play Alli- a natural number 8- there because he can score goals and links up well with Kane. They have Erikson and Lamela who would probably prefer to play there (injury permitting). What they badly need is pace and width in the final third, and possibly a different striking option to Kane. Throughout the team's core they are solid as a rock.

It wouldn't surprise me if Pochettino sees him playing - or being coached to play - in a deeper CM role: Dembele will need replacing at some point in the next couple of years perhaps. And in the meantime he can provide squad cover/competition for Eriksen etc.

So is Ac Milan buying as much players as they need to fight for a trophy. After that just don't give a shit if they get some 2-3 window transfer ban? :)

I think it shows character and loyalty towards Roma. The PL and even United has a bit of mercenary look about it nowadays. Hamsik and now Nainggolan are examples of players in Serie A who, by staying at their clubs, are not only endearing themselves to fans but also ensuring continuity in the team's structure and managers building teams around them. The latter part is a matter of prestige as well.

Football in Italy is perhaps still more about emotions than money (except Milan). I like it and will make sure I watch more of Serie A this season.

Have Milan sold anyone to accomodate all those new players? There's even talk they are going to go for one more striker

A bunch of fringe players have left - Honda, Bertolacci, Andrea Poli, Diego Lopez, Kucka and a few younger players.

I hope Milan get Belotti to. Partly to screw Chelsea out of another striker and partly because I really want them to do well again.

Can you not believe we don't just have 1 target for each position?
i know there is more than 1, but no way Lukaku was number 1 for striker as media claimed. We all know he wasnt and to say otherwise is utter BS

Really? How far down the list of choices do you believe he was and who do you think was ahead of him?
