Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

We won't be offering £40 - 50m. I'd be surprised if Levy is willing to go beyond £30m, given the contract situation.

As to it making sense for Barkley, it depends on what other offers/options he has - does he have any better offers? He may well believe that he can break into our first XI - and I hope that he does have that self-belief if he comes to us. As for the rest, we offer CL football, a London location, a club that finished in 2nd place last season, excellent training facilities and no doubt at least as much money in wages as he is getting at Everton.

Moreover, he will already know Kane, Rose, Dier, Trippier and Alli from England duties.

All in all, it's hardly a stretch to think that he may well see Spurs as an attractive proposition.

to be fair Spurs is a step up from Everton, you shouldn't be needing to justify that to ppl, I think the problem you'll have is we just bought Rom for 75m so Everton will value Barkley around the 50m mark

ahead of him? Griezmann and Morata
Griezmann was definitely No.1. I am not sure Morata was ahead of Lukaku as he said his mind was made up in May where he was going. I think once Griezmann was out of the picture he wanted Morata as well as Lukaku. We need goals and I don't think he would feel one striker was enough after last season. However the fitness of Ibra has made him think again. He will be hoping we are still in contention in all competitions by the time he comes back. I personally would have liked to get the age of this team down, so I hope Ibra, who is not used to coming back from injury, is scoring goals straight away.

Have Milan sold anyone to accomodate all those new players? There's even talk they are going to go for one more striker
They have sold some but havent got much money yet. Problem is many of the players they are trying to sell even if decent have been blasted by fans for too long and have not performed well and their confidence and trust in the club is almost zero, so it is not easy to get money from them. The other issue is that some of them are on wages they would never deserve. Bertolacci for instance brought for 20 million has very high wages considering his skills/abilities, he ended up either injured or flopping on the pitch and no one can afford him. Milan were forced to loan him for free for this year. Galliani left Milan in total shambles, so even if the new management proves to be competent they will struggle to reorganize the club for the time being.

Anyway some contracts ended like Honda's. Some were sold for free like Andrea Poli. Some were sold for money like Kucka.

There are many who are set to go. And some of them are decent players who Milan will only slightly improve the position in question when theyre replacing them. Like Bacca, they will sell him for relatively average sum, when his replacement will cost 4 times more, even if Bacca's abilities are close to the new acquisition. This goes back to failure in accommodating him from one side and some bad decisions from him. When Milan failed to qualify for CL after his first season even though he was top notch, Milan stood by the gentleman agreement between them that they allow him to leave. Problem is he wanted only first class clubs, and he refused west ham and even refused some clubs in CL. He ended up staying but not playing with conviction constantly nagging and things went worse then and now his price has went down obviously. Milan want to fetch some 25 million euros for him. But its obvious they wont get more than 15-20 mill at most especially that once again he refuses to leave for clubs with no high stature and at the same time doesnt want to stay. A total clusterf*ck with him, but he is to blame firstly because he cant seem to take bold decisions, instead complains alot.

Niang is also reportedly out but Milan want around 18 million euros for him. I think an epL club would pay that as he fits EPL, but they havent been able to convince him to. He is still unsure about what to do and where to go.
Lapadula should have been reportedly sold for 13 million to genoa but they postponed his medicals for some reason. Thats basically three forwards who are surely going out.
In midfield with Biglia now in and Locatelli demanding more time Montolivo should be the one leaving, but galliani gave him a fat contract for two more years and he surely wont want to leave. No one will pay those wages for him. Some youngsters will leave though probably on loan.
In defense, De sciglio is the one about to leave to Juve since he demanded it, but Juve dont want to pay more than 8 million euros for him when Milan demand 18 mill, otherwise they will wait for another year since his contract expires then. I think though that if Juventus dont abide by the price or at least agree on something in the middle, Milan will simply tell him to search for another club or stay at Milan. Some decent centrebacks like Paletta, Gomez, and third choice defenders including youngsters will leave or be sent on loan.

He would be a No. 10. Still a striker, even if the ss. Just means we would be playing with two strikers or as near as dammit.

Yep...Grizemann would have played in the hole behind Lukaku which makes a lot of sense. Lukaku occupies space and defenders who have to go with his runs or the space he'll go into. Grizemann moves so well and exploits space that is vacated or will become vacated. Hope Grizemann comes next year as Jose continues to tinker with the squad to get his optimal setup

Transfer season seems incredibly boring this time, absolutely nothing seems to be happening. Very quiet across Europe apart from Milan

So is Ac Milan buying as much players as they need to fight for a trophy. After that just don't give a shit if they get some 2-3 window transfer ban? :)
That's what everyone in Italy is trying to understand.

In the Voluntary Agreement they submitted to UEFA Milan's board flame that they will increase revenues from 250 to 500bn euros in two years.
It sounded as a joke and indeed UEFA asked Milan to submit a new plan by September.
It's likely if they don't make it to CL they'll get some transfer bans probably and need to sell players just like Inter.

Besides this transfer session has been financed by a 300mln loan by the Elliot Fund (maturing in 18 months)at the very convenient interest rate of 13%

Why don't we seem to be doing anything? Our business has been the quietest in years on twitter this year.

Because Perisic and Matic/Dier deals are not easy to do, it takes some time. If you expect better or more class players, then you will be disappointed.

He was never going to join us and was using our interest to get a better contract, with his preferred club.
Same thing applies to Griezeman - he used us to get a better contract, then made up some story that the only reason he chose to stay was the transfer ban. If this was truly the case, he'd have signed for us now, for the move to happen in January, when the transfer ban is lifted.

Naingolan, Schneider, Gaitan, Griezeman, Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Ramos - none of these players will be playing for us in their prime. When they are 35+ and if we are interested, they may join.
You're right about Nainggolan and the vast majority of others who are linked to us.

Not Griezmann though. If he was purely playing us for a better contract, he wouldn't have announced he was staying at Atletico days (weeks?) before he actually signed the new contract. And the buyout clause in his contract would have been increased, as they always are in these kinds of situations when the club finally gets them to sign it. There's numerous little things about the saga that don't make sense if he was simply angling for a better contract. IMO there's no doubt whatsoever he truly was planning on signing for us as long as Atletico didn't cop the transfer ban. Once that ban was announced, within a matter of hours he let it be known that he was going to be staying with them. And as a 'thankyou', a week or so later Atletico gave him a new contract with a higher wage. However from all accounts the buyout clause remained the same.

That doesn't mean we will definitely be buying him in January or next off-season. Things change. Maybe Mourinho gets somebody else now that he thought was almost as good for that role. Or maybe somebody else will appear on the scene that Mourinho will prefer in 12 months. Maybe we have a shit season, and Griezmann decides he's better off staying at Atletico. Perhaps we have a great season and don't want to disrupt the team by bringing him in. Plenty of things can happen in 12 months. In saying that, if I had to give odds I'd say it's probably a 60% chance we sign him next season.

I know, I said he wouldn't have been our main striker. Even if we signed him, we'd have signed Lukaku for him to play off. The post I replied to suggested Lukaku was actually an alternative to AG.

Rumenigge confirms AC Milan's interest in Renato Sanches.

Sky are saying he'll sign for Milan on loan with an option to buy for 40 million euros.

Milan going all in this summer. Renato + Belotti/Aubameyang and all their other signings seems like incredible work.

Definitely leaving then. Rummenigge would take openly about it otherwise. Probably best for Bayern, he didn't settle in at all and it never looked like they had any plan what to do with him.

Who aren't AC Milan interested in this summer?

I still think it would have gone different for him if we'd got him, always seemed destined to fail at Bayern, odd transfer.

Hope it works out for Milan. Someone has to stop Juventus.

Depending on some circumstances, but another top summer next season and i expect them definitely to challenge. Think this year they need to find their groove and best eleven, reaching first the CL and challenging the other clubs behind Juve before going for the kill the season after with CL football and money to get other top class talent in.

I remember when we was trying to sign everything going. Looks like good business now I bet they still finish 6th.

Don't really think it makes sense when we have Pogba. Playing both of them together wouldn't be a good combination imo.

Would be the first bad business from Milan if they will buy Sanches and sell Locatelli to Juve.
Locatelli is a huge talent, Sanches is nothing special so far.

Their league isnt as competitive. They will finish in the top 4, no doubt.

There league hasn't been competitive for a while but then and Inter still disappoint even with from the outside in good signings. Inter had a good summer transfer window for the last 2 seasons. They need gradual progression. History shows Milan are likely to have a mediocre season next season but if they can develop a strong mentality maybe they'll pick up for the season after. Well I hope so, there my Italian team.

I hope Milan get Belotti to. Partly to screw Chelsea out of another striker and partly because I really want them to do well again.
Yeah I feel the same. There's a real nostalgia for Milan isn't there?! Everyone seems to be willing them to come back.

Inter have decent players on paper, but outside of Icardi they dont have a player i would want. Milan will have Bonucci, Donnarumma, Biglia, Sanches, Aubameyang/Belotti, all players i would take here. Milan finished a point above them and are doing business like no other team. I dont see them having problems beating the likes of Atalanta, Inter and Lazio in the table next season.

Nostalgia and it's just boring to see the same team win the league for 6 years. Not dissimilar to how a lot of people who don't care much about PL wanted someone other than United to win the league during Fergie days.

True, but I reckon there's a lot of people who want to relive their childhood when James Richardson was on TV every week and Milan were awesome.

Apart from Bonucci no one is top class. Like your statement for Inter it just looks good on paper. So we will just have to see.
