Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I still think we are negotiating the payment plan, and not the amount
This. It's not really the amount but the cash flow. In fact, we may well be offering potentially better terms than the release clause to avoid the upfront payment.

In any case, that must be on standby until Atlético know how willing they are to play ball.

No, I think we'll get Griezmann, a #9, a DM and a CB, it will be the other spots like the wing and LB that get overlooked to make sure we get the #9 this team badly needs, if Jose indeed has to sacrifice one to get another for budget reasons, we don't know what him and the board have laid out in terms of expenditure. However if it came down to a #9 or Griezmann, I think Jose would opt for the #9 as Griezmann isn't going to thrive anyway if he doesn't have a #9 that can hold the ball up playing in front of him.

A 9 and giezman would blow our entire budget, we wont have left for the likes of cb's and wings.

Martial isn't a 9 for José. Rashford still has much to prove, I'm not convinced he is a 9 myself.

They 'll have to share the burden though. There is no striker which can play alone as a 9. So i expect and 2 or3 man attack.

Rangers sign Bruno Alves from Cagliari. Sky are saying they're also close to securing Carlos Pena from Chivas and Graham Dorrans from Norwich.

Bruno Alves has always looked like a mixed race bloke that uses fake tan to me.

I'm quite confident Griezmann will join us this summer. Whether he's the right player for us or not, I don't know. I initially thought Pogba wouldn't do well at United and I was wrong. Let's hope the same applies to GriezzmON.

We don't know what the budget it is though so you can't say that as a fact, there's no way Jose is going to into a season with a 19 year old who can't hold the ball up and only scored 5 PL goals last season as his main #9 IMO, no matter what his budget it is and what else he has to leave overlooked, I mean if push came to shove we can manage with Bailly/Blind/Smalling/Jones/Axel as our 5 CB's while we wait for Rojo to come back, we don't need to buy Keane, it's not like he's much of an improvement over the chuckle bothers anyway.

So you could be looking at Griezmann £86M, Belotti £60M and Fabinho £45M as our outlay.

Wasn't he claiming Pogba to Madrid until the last min last summer? Tried to hashtag the fee?
If we're talking Tancredi here.. He was the one insisting on Pogba to Utd all summer long. If i remember correctly that was the reason he was removed from the ban list.

I had a weird feelings of football moment.....

Has he really? That's a shame; he was very good for Switzerland on numerous occasions.
He is a good LB, but I m not sure if he is going to fit in Serie A. His crossings and standards are quality and his passing in general is good, but he is weak in defense with dubious positional awareness, ordinary tackling and he looks so slowish nowadays.

He has been bang average since two years, as @Santos J pointed out and he has received a huge salary from Wolfsburg around 7-8m gross over the years, so he wasnt in a hurry to take the 1st offer. Its the right time for both parties to part ways and maybe Milan is the right step and can revive RiRo.

Why do you need to hold the ball , The attacking dynamics change pretty much with movement and pace infront 3 and the passing range of pogba and Fabinho if we get him. There is going to be more direct counter attacking dynamics instead of holding the ball and bringing others into play. Griezman fairly drops deep and builds up from there via his skills. Fabinho is a better direct passer than herrera and fellani so movement up front will really be deadly in breaking defenses. Also Belotti has a 100 m euros release clause himself.

A better build up brings more goals and more team goals than a better striker up front and for that better build up we need better wingers with proper attacking balance for better penetration which has been missing this season due to putting square pegs in round holes which is more a need than an out and out 9 with unbalanced attacking build up.

In defense too a more established quality cb is a must than a bunch of fillers.

If a player is good enough, he'll do well wherever he is. There was never any doubt that Pogba wouldn't do well here because he's a world class player. Griezmann came 3rd in the Ballon d'Or voting and that itself is a reassurance that he'll be a success, not to mention that he possesses every skill bar strength that an attacker would need.

He's part of Stretty News and does seem to have connections with United. I don't remember him ever bullshitting about transfers.
I've heard that he is somehow connected to something and someone told me (off the record) that he's worth listening to.
Seriously, listen to someone who writes: "Not going on record saying it's happening, but I've heard something v promising from someone closely connected to"...

I don't think so. In fact I think it was the complete opposite and he kept (erroneously) claiming that Madrid were back in for him which pissed everyone off no end. The one exception of course being @ehsanul, who response to every negative Tancredi tweet, was a major hard-on!

I don't suppose it would be too hard to look back and check. I just can't be to bothered right now! :)
