Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Lock this thread down untill a United related tweet comes up for ffs. This is getting ridiculous.

I don't get these type of posts. There's a reason why the thread is not in the United forum. There's plenty of posters (incl. opponent fans), who want to follow the general market.

We're not interested. Matic on deadline day, imo, as long as Chelsea get his replacement.

Matic was part of a title winning team, that makes him good enough for our team. Let us sign a DM from Leicester because even they won the title. We could also pay 60 million for Eric Dier, he is value for money.

How much to bring Danny Simpson home? He was ever present for Leicester in their title win. £40m?

Lacazette will be good for them, always seen him as a tyical Arsenal signing and have wondered why they didn't go for him earlier.

If they somehow can wrap up Lemar as well they've done very well for themselves.

Jérémy Mathieu will train with Sporting Portugal during his holidays and could join the club after ow.ly/adgZ30ddWsd

I've got a better idea, kick out the 5 year old spoilt kids until, in fact don't let them back in.
This a transfer tweet thread, not a united only transfer tweet thread.

A few days ago, they said Fabinho had agreed terms with United. Then later hey said he had agreed terms with PSG. Now they are saying Monaco has rejected PSG's offer. Tomorrow they will say United has agreed a fee with Monaco and then next week, they will say Monaco actually rejected the bid from United. The following day, they will say that United was actually never interested in Fabinho.

Sigh.

To be fair, all the reports coming out now are still saying that PSG have agreed terms with Fabinho, and that he wants to move to PSG, just that Monaco don't want to sell to them.

The part about us agreeing terms is strange though, seems like the top journos were getting fed some duff info by one of the involved parties, could be Juve like Duncan Castles said

So that's Sanchez gone to City then. fecking hell what a spineless club.
This is Arsenal. They will be paying a record fee for Lacazette so they will want the money in as well.

I'm now beginning to believe that Jose aren't interested in Fabinho at all. If he is, this would have a deal simply concluded quite quickly. The player welcomes a move and his club doesn't want to sell to their major league rival

Is there another Kante in the PL we can't find other than Dier and Matic?

Gueye and Ndidi

I'm absolutely convinced we've never been in for him or we'd have signed him weeks ago.

Di Marzio seemed to take a bit of a Luke-warm punt based on information possibly received from Juventus. Bouhafsi possibly just went along with that info too.

There's just not been enough solid talk or movement.

Not sure if you've heard the Amoyal podcast where they spent a fair few minutes on United (Pilib de Brun was featured). Some of the things they mentioned:

1. United have been preparing for months
2. The club has contacted at least 25 players this window working on various scenarios
3. Separate lists were made assuming we'd be in EL vs assuming we'd make the CL
4. Plans were affected and we've had to change targets at times
5. Belotti was ruled out on price after at one time being ahead of Morata on our list - but now we're looking at Morata primarily
6. Perisic was initially on List 2 (Europa) but got elevated - probably because of the Griezmann situation
7. We are continuing to work on a bunch of targets all at the same time and nobody really knows where we are on any aspect as info is not available

In this light, there's a good chance that we have indeed contacted in some manner a large number of the players we're linked to constantly. There's no reason to believe we have not touched base. Whether we are serious or not, can't say. That said, look around. Virtually no club has been making big signings (Bernardo Silva is not - yet, at least, worthy of classifying as a big signing). The market at the top end generally sees moves happen rapidly after the first couple of moves are made and I think everyone's just waiting for that to occur. That's also what will set baselines for price, so it's no surprise as sellers watch the "market rates" and continue to hold out for as high an amount as possible in the hopes that the baselines will be high and buyers remain wary and hold back waiting for lower floors to become apparent.

That's also probably why United in particular are holding back. If we were to sign Perisic for 50 Mn, it's virtually certain that the Morata price won't fall by much (if at all) while other prices will also be staggeringly high. Business logic...

The two conditions of Mbappé to continue in Monaco, according to L'Equipe trib.al / gXRGthG

"The young French star, Kylian Mbappé, has set two conditions to continue in Monaco, reports L'Equipe. The first would be a significant salary increase. The Frenchman collects 1.2 million euros a year and wants them to become 8.5 million. The second is that the club curb the exit of their best players. Bernardo Silva is gone and Bakayoko, Mendy and Fabinho are close to packing.

You're probably right. We may have inquired about him and that's all.
